Is Matthew Hoffman a Killer Or Just a Collector of People?

A neighbor, Donna Davis recalled seeing Stephanie's silver jeep in Hoffman's backyard, when he was making one of his fires.
is this thought to be true or just gossip from the dd neighbor?

sorry if this has been posted - i have a lot of catching up to do...

Someone is speculating, and blending details I think.

"Fowler and Donna both noticed a large silver pick-up they had never seen before was parked in front of Hoffman’s house since Wednesday. The truck was removed by law enforcement Sunday."

One homepage are better pictures of vehicles:

I wouldn't describe Stephanie's Jeep as silver, or as a pickup, would anyone?

good collection of news links for this case...

http://www.times-gazette.com/news/article/4934239 newest article found at this time...

Wednesday's search in the Pleasant Hill Lake area was initiated at the request of the Knox County Sheriff's Office. A retired police officer had seen a description of a pickup truck linked to Hoffman on a news broadcast and recalled having seen a vehicle matching that description parked along the lodge road on the day the victims disappeared. He contacted the Knox County Sheriff's Office.

good refresher/ information packed page with vid....

Just heard the local news (10TV) that they found a blue sweatshirt last night, near Tina's house. Kody was last seen wearing a blue sweatshirt, but no word (of course) on whether it's his.

I did read on FB last night that someone on that search party said it was blue sweat pants, not shirt, and there was even a bit of back and forth on it. She was pretty certain it was pants, not shirt. She said the officer who collected it confirmed it.

So who knows, who knows (frustrated).

it's up on channel 10's website now (blue sweatshirt found in pile of leaves)

HOWARD, Ohio — Search efforts for three missing people continued in Knox County late Wednesday night, and investigators were examining new pieces of recovered evidence, including a blue sweatshirt.

not good either way :( must be really stressful there - poor sarah, i couldnt even begin to imagine what she is going thru! it really gets me angry that hoffman is knowingly putting these people thru this grrrrrr...:furious:

If this blue sweatshirt, and the items found yesterday (purple-something, hair clip etc) are both connected to this case, he scattered things widely.

My optimism is quickly fading. I'm guessing that MH is not talking, because he knows there is no one to "rescue" (to save himself from more serious charges), which they probably tried to persuade him with. He probably knows his only hope is for nobody finding anything.

I am wondering if little Sarah has told investigators how much time she spent alone while being captive? Surely she has. Was she able to tell night from day? In some way, a sm. window, an opening of some sort?. If MH was not there a good bit of the time, he likely was out scattering/disposing of evidence. He had access to a vehicle for 5 days before being arrested. He could of not returned to Tina’s home after Wed. evening/Thurs. morning, with out being seen. Everything he took from the home, was either moved to his house, or disposed of by then. And that would be awfully quick.
Feeling that all of this was pre planed by MH, he could of already had a large pit dug somewhere, to quickly hide his crime. I could be covered by something and unknown or unfound still.

I can’t see him driving all around scattering evidence here and there for 4 day’s, most especially with little Sarah in the basement. He may of gotten rid of some of it by scattering it but, I feel the most of it is in one location. Possibly in the opposite direction of the few items scattered. JMO

p.s. The reason they were searching that area (where the sweatshirt/pants was found) is because of buzzard activity (spotted by a hunter all day, and others in AV). Not good. I imagine they'll be scouring that whole area more thoroughly today.

If anyone wants to Google the location, they said it was in the Colopy Road and Simpson (Howard).

According to the video, it was found about 1/4 mile from Tina's home:

I just hope these families will receive some closure soon. They must just be exhausted and beside themselves, along with the rest of the community. I am way out on the West Coast, and the sadness is felt clear out here. Just horrific, I feel awful for everyone involved.

well if he just laid them out in the woods then they will eventually be found unless animal activity scatters (hard to have to type this) their remains but this would prolly take a really long time or flooding/heavy rain to scatter them so wide spread to never be found... what would the purpose of removing their clothing be? if he buried them i dont think he would have removed their clothing - actually, if he did i would think that he would have burned it. clothing is way more easy to get rid of than the person. if he is just scattering things then he is either stupid or playing a game. or a stupid game? grrr...

I just had that awful question come up in my mind too, after watching 10TV news again (on TV, which shows the sweatpants/shirt as more blue than the online video does). Why would they be out of their clothes? It sickens me to imagine.

Psychopaths seem to think they are smarter than the rest of the world! They are HUGE game players. They like the challenge.
Many start out or have arson in their past somewhere, animal killing, etc.. They are known to keep trophies.
It seems to be something that escalates in these people little by little. Hard to watch one and know when the straw that breaks the camels back is going to come into play.
MH will likely never tell LE. He wants to win the game. Very sick individuals. Hopefully LE will be able to put it all together, and find these poor people.

Looking at the video of the sweatshirt find, does it look like there are some ashes or the remains of a fire? Or do I need even more coffee...:waitasec:

ETA: I watched it again. It's at 00:37 and a close up at 00:51 sec.

From my understanding there's a fire pit there and people would have bonfires from time to time.

I agree! It does!
