Someone from search party that found items last night is on FB saying it was definitely not a blue sweatshirt - it was blue sweatpants... that she was there & knows for sure, but media was not there and are reporting it wrong. I know, FB is not reliable either... but it sounds like it may be another case of poor reporting.

ETA - OK, not sure what to think... I think the FB poster may be the same woman interviewed by 10TV in that video, and there she clearly says it was a sweatshirt - what the heck???

Sure is the same person in the video titled "new evidence" and she clearly says sweatshirt in the video.

Perhaps it was determined to be sweatpants as the detective that recovered the evidence picked it up and bagged it?

I think you may be right that the searcher thought it was a sweatshirt until it was removed from the leaves, then could see it was actually sweatpants... so we would have to presume that she spoke to the reporter before LE had bagged the item, that LE allowed spectators in the area as they recovered the items and that the media did not stick around long enough to get the rest of the story. Thanks!

Where did you hear this, and do you have a link to the info?
In the first news conference, Sheriff Barber said that he thought maybe the lockdown at the college came about because someone heard what sounded like a gunshot, and it was right after they found TH's truck. He was explaining that his department had nothing to do with the lockdown at the college.

I just thought of something here. If you live in a rural area, what kind of transportation would you use to reach a remote area that's not accessiable?

Did the victims kept an all terran vechile (ATV) in their garage or shed?

It's possible that MH could have used an all terran vechile.

Here's a link, and he discusses the shot about 9:22 (towards the end). He said that the report of a shot came as officers were there looking at the truck, and upon investigation, it appeared that the report was unfounded.

A comment by an (alleged) retired deputy on 10TV has some interesting things to consider - mainly the intelligence of a criminal like this. Similar to what many on here have been saying about playing a game with LE...

ETA: It's in the comments section about the sweatshirt, not an interview or article.

If you scroll down a ways to where it says Sheriff Speaks on the left, at 8:45 in, he mentions during the time they were recovering the vehicle, there was a report of a gunshot being heard, but it was checked out and determined to be unfounded. That may have been what prompted the lockdown.

Respectfully, we're jumping the gun here. It doesn't change anything until there is proof that the tarp(s) and garbage bags were used in a crime. Even then, it could be argued that they were originally bought for innocent reasons. Until matching items, preferably with MH's fingerprints on them, are found connected to victims, the receipt is merely a clue.

JMO

Agreed. But the strange thing is that, IIRC, they found the receipt at Tina's house. So either he kept everything in the bag and brought the bag in with him, or it fell out of his pocket while he was at the house (possibly during a struggle?). That's a huge mistake for a seasoned criminal to make. I don't think MH is as bright as some have claimed.

I hope to heck something is found today. There are so many unanswered questions and it makes me want to slap MH knowing that he's sitting in his cell just watching LE and waiting.

I think they found it at the perp's house. Cody is either 9, 10, or 11 according to reports, so take them for what they're worth.

Seems strange "I'm a killer full of rage & today is the day, I've got my tarp(s) and garbage bags ready to chop up the bodies, hang on, I must not forget a chicken sandwich"

Kody's dad FB page says Kody is 11. I take his dad's word over the media at this point. :)

I have followed this from the first tweet about the college lockdown on Thursday and I have never heard this or read this in an article.

Do you have a link?

Phew, I finally found where I heard it. It was during the first news conference with Sheriff Barber on Friday (12th), outside the house.

Scroll all the way down to "Sheriff Speaks"
It is in between "Man Arrested" and "Zoo Day"

Right around the 8:00 mark, they start talking about the truck. He speaks of the Kenyon lock down and why they may have decided to do the lockdown. He mentioned the gunshot and said "around the time the truck was located".

Btw, also on that video, he confirms that Stephanie's truck was in the garage at Tina's house.

I still cannot get it out of my mind that MH had a place prepared to hide his crime.
He had to do all of this to quickly, and has obviously hidden them pretty well.
Likely all taken at once, in a vehicle to where ever, and he returned to his home.
There just must be evidence in some of those vehicles. Which would show transport but, not location.
And MH isn’t talking.

If he was out and about strooning things around during those 4 days, it was little, or he would have been seen. I can’t imagine he would of moved 3 bodies on foot, or in a way that he could have been caught
By Thurs. everyone had an eye out for the missing people.

If any of the evidence that is scattered, is connected to the crime, it may very well be a ruse.
I hope I am wrong but, I feel this more and more as time goes on. But we are of course receiving little inside LE info, as would be expected.
---------
Yes it seems as if the receipt was his one big mistake. But even Dahmer eventually made a mistake. Most of them do.
And there is still not really clear info on the receipt as to exactly where and how it was found.
The date and tarp, are probably what got the investigators interest though.

According to this article - receipt was found at Hoffman's. But - so much of the reporting has been quite - well - awful, so fwiw:

Barber told reporters Tuesday that police had discovered a Walmart receipt for tarps, garbage bags and a T-shirt at Hoffman's home.

Okay, the girl (RN) who found the sweat-item last night says that when they originally found the item and were interviewd by 10TV, it was prior to LE arriving, they thought it was a sweatshirt, as indicated in the interview. However, after LE arrived and inspected the item further, they determined that it was sweatpants.

She stated this on the FB thread, after being asked for clarification.
