I’m sorry I meant the article about Tyler’s disappearance that was posted today was different than the original ones. I was not referring to the drug related article.

I think he was under the influence of something, too. When I hear "confusion" and wandering around "lost", I think of meth. Also, from the most recent article, if they were all so exhausted from the night out on the town, why were they all still awake at well past 4:00 a.m.? Just saying . . . in my opinion it is odd.

"Brittany told Dateline nothing was out of ordinary that evening. But by the time they had walked around the sprawling shopping complex –- which includes no fewer than 235 retail stores, 40 restaurants and 750 residential units, according to its website –- it was around 3:00 a.m. and everyone was exhausted."

“Brittany told Dateline it was nearing 4:30 a.m. at this point. Brittany told Dateline she “didn’t have a good feeling” about her husband’s safety and began calling friends to ask for advice on what to do. ”

Why wouldn’t see have contacted Hotel Security and Easton Mall Security instead of calling friends? Strange.

Just prior to where the woods are (or were according to some comments about development) there is what looks like a large retention pond (across the street from Cosco). Don't know how deep it is but have divers searched? Google Maps
EAston.png Yes, if you look at it this way there is a body of water just on the other side of the wooded area. Then further east (on your map) and a little north there looks to be some sort of retention pond or something? I think that is what you are referring to? There is another body of water south on Stelzer Rd on the East side a little from the hotel, as well.

Wondering if Missy... has any ideas, thoughts, etc. This article seems to cast a lot of suspicion on the friend...
I watch Dateline quite often. I feel like the case is still very active, which is why LE might not be commenting - to protect the investigation. Often, the police don't even keep the family up to date on developments. LE seems open to commenting and discussing once a case has been solved or is considered officially "cold."

The whole story with the friend's interaction with Tyler and his wife has changed multiple times. Red flags.

All I can say is wow! This story is COMPLETELY different than the one she came out with!

"Brittany said a close friend, who lives in Columbus, came by the hotel to hang out with them."
"Brittany told Dateline it was nearing 4:30 a.m. at this point. Their friend, who Brittany says lives just 10 minutes from the hotel, decided to go home."
This explains to me though why they had a friend with them on their couples weekend. I assumed he lived by them and travelled and stayed in the same room, but he did not. BUT.......why in the world would he leave and go home while she is worried about her husband missing? Huge red flag.
"A few hours later, around 8:30 p.m., the three of them left the hotel to walk around the shopping center. We got some dinner and went out for the evening,” Brittany said. “We walked around the town center to get the lay of the land, because we were going to go shopping the next day and had a couple’s massage planned.”

"Brittany told Dateline nothing was out of ordinary that evening. But by the time they had walked around the sprawling shopping complex –- which includes no fewer than 235 retail stores, 40 restaurants and 750 residential units, according to its website –- it was around 3:00 a.m. and everyone was exhausted. They took an Uber back to the hotel. Brittany said that’s when the night began to change. "
When you click on the link in the article, it takes you here Hours of Operation | Easton Town Center | Columbus, OH. Hours are:
Regular Hours:
Monday-Thursday: 10:00 AM-9:00 PM
Friday-Saturday: 10:00 AM-10:00 PM
Sunday: Noon-6:00 PM

I did click on entertainment for this shopping center, Entertainment | Easton | Columbus, OH, and there are two places listed that stay open until 2:30AM. So it is possible they just bar hopped (not sure if there are other places that aren't listed here) then went to the hotel.

But to me, this is where the story is much different than the original. This makes it seem like they just ate, strolled, shopped, hung out then went home. Her original story was drinking, a strip club, and Tyler and friend getting into an argument if I remember correctly. I tried to find that in the first articles out, but I couldn't and need to get to work :O If someone has that link, please let me know. The story needs to state EXACTLY what happened, good or bad, so it can help lead to his state of mind.

“When we were getting out of the Uber, Tyler seemed so confused and frustrated,” Brittany told Dateline. “He said he was going to go for a walk. Brittany said she offered to go with him, but her phone was dying so their friend went with Tyler, instead, while Brittany went to the hotel room to charge her phone. She went back outside a couple of minutes later, she said, but couldn’t find her husband or their friend. “I was kind of confused, like, ‘What’s going on?’” she said. “Then Tyler called me around 3:30 a.m. and said he would be right back [to the hotel]. A few minutes later, the couple’s friend returned to the hotel. Tyler was not with him. "

This..........this is a big red flag to me! Article says Tyler called a few more times, but, I think friend knows something. Why, why would you leave a "confused" person alone outside, then go home when he never returned! What happened between end of evening and Uber ride that Tyler would become confused and wife doesn't know what happened? I know every news story spins their own version, but with changing stories......it doesn't help. It's totally possible someone slipped something in his drink (IF they were drinking, this article doesn't say they were, but in the original story they were). It would explain his confusion, but again, WHY would the friend leave him outside alone!!! Even if Tyler was angry and wanted to be left alone, he could have sat nearby to keep an eye on him. If wife saw the confusion and knew it wasn't normal, then the friend did also (versus thinking he was just drunk and irritated and ok to be left alone).

Another question, Tyler apparently had HIS phone that was charged and working. It was 3AM, why was she so worried about her phone when clearly if her inlaws needed them (the only reason I could fathom on being worried your phone was dying at 3AM), they could call Tyler's phone that worked.

This article raises more questions than answers............

So, the friend just casually returns without the husband and...no big deal? Then he leaves...I could not agree with you more...about all of this!

But........Tyler apparently did call a few more times once the friend left him alone. If that is true, then I don't think the friend had anything to do with what happened to Tyler. If Tyler did NOT really call, well..........we all know the ending.

I haven’t seen one consistent story about this. The details about what they did, when they did it, and why they did it are always different. The only things that stay the same are the phone calls and what was said on them. So what’s the truth here? I’d really love to hear something from this friend. I have yet to see anything stating his name or anything that someone posted claiming to be the friend. Makes you wonder why if he was Tyler’s friend he wouldn’t be on social media giving details and pleading for help too.

Thanks, great info. I'm confused by the "gmail and google maps" phrase. Could she mean cell phone data?

Info is slow on this case, but this last location is important (if real). Did he think another building was the hotel? Was he walking in the wrong direction?

This puts him farther from the hotel than expected. At that time of the night, not much point in intentionally going that far away.

Did the pendulum just swing back towards accidental death?

Did the friend drive a car to the Hitlton that night or also arrive in the Uber car?

According to the article posted below, the friend lived nearby (within 10 minutes away), and came by the Hilton Hotel (where Tyler and his wife had already checked-in, according to the article). From there, the three proceeded to the Mall area. From this narrative in the article I am assuming that the friend drove his own vehicle, to the area of the hotel. He then would have driven home in his own vehicle, after Tyler went missing in the wee hours following their night out on the town.

From the article:
“Then we continued on to the Hilton hotel, which is right in front of the shopping center, and checked in probably around 5:00 p.m.

Brittany said a close friend, who lives in Columbus, came by the hotel to hang out with them. A few hours later, around 8:30 p.m., the three of them left the hotel to walk around the shopping center."
