'It's Just Not Like Him': Missing Chickasha Man Prompts OSBI Investigation, Sister Holds Out Hope​

The OSBI is involved in an ongoing investigation into the disappearance of a Chickasha man, Richard Houston, who has been missing since August. His sister, KA, says he was last seen outside the Life Skills Institute in Chickasha, a haven for people experiencing homelessness.

"He had gone outside to smoke a cigarette and he just never came back in," she said. "That's pretty much all we know."

The pain of the uncertainty hangs heavy on KA.

"It's just not like him," she says.

Her 46-year-old brother was last seen on August 31st. The OSBI now taking over the investigation.

If you check his missing info on Facebook a family member has some additional descriptive (physical) information on him that would be quite helpful in spotting him. It's FB so not linking but is easy to find.

Houston missed an appointment on 8/31/2023 and did not arrive for his shift at his place of employment on 9/1/2023. Houston’s wallet, backpack, and work uniform were left behind. However, Houston’s cellphone was missing. Houston has not used his cellphone since 8/30/2023.

Chickasha city employees, others recognized for help in missing man case

Several local heroes rolled up their sleeves to assist in the case of a missing Chickasha man last year.

Chickasha Police Chief, G.G. Music recognized several Chickasha Public Works employees and two private industry employees at the Chickasha City Council meeting on Tuesday.

Chief Music gave some background on the case. On Sept. 13, the Chickasha Police Department opened an investigation to locate Richard Houston, 46. Houston was last seen on Kansas Ave. in late August. The case is ongoing and now includes several agencies, including the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI).
