WELCH — A retired registered nurse who was slain along with her husband last weekend was a self-sufficient woman who was devoted to caring for her ill spouse, a friend said Tuesday.

"If there was ever a lady who could have come across this country in a covered wagon and survived it, it was Leota," Gracie Porter said of Leota Huls.

WELCH, OK -- The victim's daughter, Malinda Howard is asking the public any help on who might have killed her parents. She's also offering a reward.

I hope Malinda and her family can find out who committed this crime and that somewhere, somehow peace can come for all those that loved this couple.

'The OSBI said a specific gun that was bought or traded around 2008 could help them solve a cold case double murder.'

'Stansill said the person who killed the Hulses was in Miami at one point because evidence was also found there.'

"The weapon named is a Smith and Wesson Sigma SW9F, this weapon has been narrowed down so much. It was only made for a couple years," said OSBI Special Agent Tammy Ferrari.

She said the gun was only made from 1994 to 1997 and that they’re looking for anyone in Northeast Oklahoma, Southeast Kansas or Southwest Missouri who may have owned it, sold it or traded it.''
