Well, darn. The words that worry me most are "she was wearing a robe." That doesn't sound good. I hope she is found soon.

But she was wearing trousers and a tee, so not like went out with virtually no clothes on!

But did she just pop out to do something in garden or such, or was she heading somewhere? I wonder if she has any health problem?

I am interpreting the "robe" as being more akin to a long "duster"-type sweater, as those are frequently open in the front or have only a tie-type closure that would make them resemble a "robe." See attached photo for example.

I thought what you call a 'robe', we call a 'dressing gown', something you wear over night attire.

I get what you mean, with the picture. I guess depends on what the reporting source determined as a 'robe'.

You all are probably right. I may be interpreting the robe as being....unusual but I'm afraid it's signaling something else....even on top of other clothes. The addition of the robe, indicates (to me anyway) that something isn't ticking right.

I forgot she went in the car. Is there a local store not far away? Was she called out suddenly? And did she actually take her phone, or leave at home?

Seems she left in her car. My husbands friends live in this town. We were there last May. There is a lot of water and windy two lane roads to drive off of. Thick vegetation too. Adorable town.

It sounds as though she took her phone as the article said the phone had been turned off. Apparently they can deduce whether a phone has run out of battery or if it was turned off.

It would have been the Saturday following Thanksgiving. I wonder if she had family visiting. Sometimes family gatherings can be filled with tension. But if she was upset, you'd think she'd be home by now.

Don't mean to be obtuse but where did you get the quote and what does it mean.
I take it to mean that Coppertop is wearing a robe in her house right now and worrying that some might think that strange.
I too wear my flannel robe (housecoat/ dressing gown) over my clothes sometimes when I am in the house but I have never left home wearing it.

reading all of the articles, yes the time seems to be 1:30am. It sounds like she was dressed still. The robe could have been treated as a coat to her especially if she was leaving a bedroom vs main area where you keep coats ( if this makes sense). So she could have been in bed with PJ's and changed clothes, then put her robe on and left the house. Is she married? Did she have a nightmare or something? Does she have any health issues/dementia kind of signs. I'm not seeing any chatter which concerns me. This is right off of Thanksgiving and if she does have health issues she may have been thinking of something and wanted to go there. Family may know. Praying for this woman! Also, apparently she looks older now then this picture. IMO
