Update on body found in original Mouseketeer's home - KOBI-TV NBC5 / KOTI-TV NBC2
From the article:
“[SBM]

Lt. [Jeff] Price [of Phoenix Police Dept.] said the 76-year-old lived with his partner of over forty years along with a third roommate. He said Day’s roommate had been using his car and credit card but had permission to do both.

Day’s car also went missing and was later found by police along the coast with two people inside who were unfamiliar to Day and his partner.

‘There was no evidence of a crime there, there was no evidence of a crime in the car,’ said Lt. Price.

Monday, Lt. Price told NBC5 News he discovered the man and woman took Day’s car without his permission.

Published on March 5th:
“While his bank account has remained untouched since Day was last seen around July 15, his car was discovered about 200 miles away from his home on July 26. The two people driving in the car ‘were unfamiliar to Day and his partner,’ according to Price.

[SBM]

‘People automatically assume something must have happened because you have these two people in his car,’ continued Price. ‘The story I have is the car was taken or possibly given to a transient female for helping the handyman do some work around the house…. But Dennis was already gone at that time.’

[SBM]” (BBM)
Original Mickey Mouse Club Mouseketeer Dennis Day was ‘reclusive’ before he went missing, lieutenant says

I wonder how Lt. Price was able to determine that the man and woman in fact did not have Dennis’ permission to drive his car. And does this mean the roommate didn’t, either? Did he really have permission to use Dennis’ credit card?

I was reading the thread from the beginning the other night and noticed someone had posted the handyman/roommate’s full name. I did a quick search and didn’t like what I saw.

I decided to dig a little bit deeper tonight and really don’t like what I’m seeing :(.

Here's a couple of snippets from an article in the Mail Tribune this morning.

"More than half a week after finding a corpse inside a missing man’s Phoenix home, Oregon State Police have yet to determine whether the body was that of former Mickey Mouse Club actor Dennis W. Day."

"Fox said investigators haven’t yet determined whether foul play was involved."

Sounds like they're going to rely on DNA for identification.
Saying prayers for his family.

The roommate had permission to use their credit cards and cars while Dennis was still missing? Random people had Dennis' car but they don't consider it a crime? They gave a car to a transient woman for helping the handyman while Dennis was missing? Maybe I'm dense but I still don't understand anything about this investigation.

I don’t believe this has been posted yet. As far as I can tell, I don’t believe there is anything we didn’t already know:

Police: Body found in home confirmed to be Mouseketeer

Medford, Ore. – Police have confirmed that a body found in April at an Oregon home is that of missing man Dennis Day, who was an original member of Disney’s “The Mickey Mouse Club.”

The Oregon State Medical Examiner’s office identified the body, although they were unable to use dental records or DNA because of the condition of the remains, Oregon State Police said Thursday. Police are still investigating Day’s death...

Also from the article:

Because of the corpse's condition, investigators couldn't use dental records or DNA to identify it, and instead decided Thursday that the remains were Day's through ‘investigation, evidence and other information,’ police said in a statement.
His death is under investigation, state police said.” (BBM)

How does that happen? Burning? Use of chemicals? What the heck happened here?

Two women arrested who were in possession of the car and a brooch belonging to Dennis Day.

Wanda Diane Garcia, 57, of south Medford, and Lori Ann Declusin, 34, of White City, each face a count of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle accusing them of taking a white 1990s model Ford Escort station wagon that belonged to Dennis Day.

Garcia, of the 4000 block of South Pacific Highway, faces an additional first-degree theft charge accusing her of stealing and selling a brooch July 19 of last year that belonged to Day — less than a week after he was last seen alive,

Court records show a dozen aliases for Garcia, including “Denise Adam,” “Wanda Avila,” “Wanda Diane Davalos,” “Chareva Louise Garcia,” “Chareva Louise Murdock,” “Denise Anne Racey” and “Chareva Louise Reyes.”

Declusin was named as one of two individuals with the car in Coos County July 26, when police impounded the car on Highway 42 near milepost 30, according to information the family shared with the Mail Tribune in March during the missing-persons investigation.
