“At this point in the investigation, it has been determined that more likely than not, Wilson drove out the North Umpqua Highway from Roseburg and became lost somewhere in the vast wilderness off of 138 East,” Myrtle Creek PD stated.

“We would like to make sure we are clear; this case is not closed and the investigation is ongoing. This case will not be closed until Wilson is found.”

Kathleen Wilson, was reported missing just before 6 p.m. on August 5. Wilson was on her way to visit a friend in Chiloquin and stayed at the Millsite RV Park for a short time, police said.

Taggart said the investigation showed Wilson left Myrtle Creek a little after 6 a.m. Monday in her 2012 Chevrolet Cruze, with Oregon license plate 747EDB. That vehicle was last seen heading eastbound on Highway 138 East leaving Roseburg.

Taggart said due to the large remote search area, Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, Oregon State Police, U.S. Forest Service Law Enforcement and Klamath County law enforcement have assisted in the search. Personnel working the fires east of Roseburg were all briefed and are also keeping an eye out for Wilson’s vehicle.

Oregon State Police brought in a plane Thursday to search the area from above. Due to smoke from the fires being thick and at a low altitude, they were unable to continue the search.

Is it just me or is that a strange statement from LE? It’s not like there is literally nothing between where she was last spotted and where she was headed. For example, Crater Lake national park is a short detour off of that route.

Also, who is that lady in the third pic from the article and why is the missing woman leaning away from her? It looks vaguely threatening.

It's reported that Wilson didn’t take important medication with her and sounded confused on the phone with friends and family, Myrtle Creek PD said.

Her phone has since died or been shut off.

Is there any context provided for this photo of her in her car with this other woman standing over her? Where and when is this from?

Also it is reported she stayed at an RV park, but she’s not in an RV or towing anything that I can see. Making assumptions here, but she doesn’t give me the vibes of an avid outdoorswoman, so wasn’t sleeping in a tent. Did she just sleep in her car? Did she meet someone there and stay in their RV? Where did she sleep?

BBM Not that I've seen in MSM but a family member is posting in comments at link below (which of course, we can't discuss on the thread).

I am unfamiliar with the area (I’m in Arkansas). Does anyone know when the fires started compared to when she went missing?

Also, where the fires were in relation to where she was last seen?
I don't know when the fires started but it's been reported they were East of Roseburg. Roseburg is North on I-5 from the RV Park, and then she'd definitely be going in that direction (East) for a couple of hours to get to Chiloquin.

I've traveled 138 East a number of times but am not familiar enough with it to know where the Dry Creek area is. It's a beautiful drive with many waterfalls along the way and views of the Salmon River, Diamond Lake, etc. I've not been that way since the devastating fires several years back, however.

2 hours, 43 minutes by vehicle from the RV Park to Chiloquin:

Not much of an update :(

Wilson’s information has been distributed to multiple counties, and other agencies outside Douglas County are attempting to locate Wilson or her vehicle, in the event she was able to make it past the county line. Oregon Department of Transportation reader boards have been displaying Be on The Lookout notices on multiple state highways.

Is it just me or does the woman leaning into the drivers side appear to be holding a black object down low in her right hand?

Does this look like a friendly interaction? Look at the expression on the face of the woman opening the car door. Look at the body position of the driver.

I see @PommyMommy has posted a link above to the Myrtle Creek Police Dept FB post where in the comments are of interest.

I had thought maybe the lady was someone from the RV Park trying to help Kathleen Wilson find her auto registration or something in the glove compartment? Or help her find the place to plug her phone in to charge it? Something like that. JMO

MCMINNVILLE WOMAN STILL MISSING AFTER NEARLY A MONTH

Taggart said multiple law enforcement agencies, as well as fire crews and the Oregon Department of Transportation have assisted in the search for Wilson. MCPD is still working with agencies in other counties on the investigation. Taggart said MCPD will be checking with Oregon State Police this week for an update on the likelihood that a search by plane could be productive.

Residents are asked to share information about Wilson and her vehicle, especially to people heading out to spend time in the forest areas. A more recent photo of Wilson is posted with this story at www.541radio.com
