What I find strange, is why the FBI or local police hasn't briefed the parents, called a press conference and have them make a plea for their child's safe return?

Maybe it seems strange to us but I think the FBI/CARD team have told Kyron's parents not to release pertinent information regarding the day in question and about Kyron. They never keep the parents informed - can't think of a case where they have. moo mho

I feel better now... there is one picture in there where Terri and Kyron are sitting right next to each other. There is also 3 pictures of Kyron with baby K... just the two of them playing.

That makes me feel better about the whole thing. I know just because there isn't a picture of it... doesn't mean it didn't happen. Not everyone is into photography and takes pictures more often than they eat. :innocent:

It just seemed a bit out of proportion. I am very much encouraged to see such adorable pictures of Kyron and baby K.

50 Family Photos now being displayed on CBS website....someone PLEASE tell me that there was not a very large licensing fee involved....and if so, that it was donated to a missing children charity??!!!

I honestly don't think family dynamics have anything to do with this case either way; the photos are nice photos, but IMO most people would not post photos of their family on public sites unless they are nice photos. That said, IF this tuns out to be a case of something closer to him, I do not think it stemmed from family difficulties, in other words, more of an accident or a spur-of-the-moment type thing that went wrong. And that is just an opinion and again, only if it turns out to be a close to home situation rather than a stranger abduction or a wandering boy. JMO

I would think young children do reflect their parents values and traits, especially at 7yo. Kyron's step-mom has an 18mo baby and she is a teacher - his dad is into computers and works at Intel - computer geeks are almost always very detail oriented. Sloppiness does not solve nor improve computer problems, nor does it do well in a grade school class room. Some may call it 'perfection' and others may call it - helping the child do the best he can so he can experience pride in what he does., moo

If Kyron had a picture of a frog with a few difficult to read sentences, wonder what we would we be saying about his parents then? moo

I will not try to explain or justify anything I wrote because I am concerned that I will make it worse if I attempt to explain what I was getting at. I am sorry. I didn't mean to offended you.

The second-grader and his step-mom were at the school early Friday. She took him around the school to look at the various science fair projects. That step-mom says that at about 8:45 a.m. she left and saw Kyron apparently walking toward his classroom. Specifically, Multnomah County Sheriff Dan Staton says he was last seen at the school's south entrance.

So he left his second floor classroom for what reason??????

In one overhead photo of the school in Thread 1 (page 10) there is a business located close to the school. Does anybody know what that business is and what kind of workers or customers would be coming and going there? It looks like a larger building, with several cars in the parking lot but not an office building. More like production or construction?

Alright, thanks all for the clarification-so Stepmom must have been guiding him around to the other projects, right? I mean they got there at 8AM, he set his up or it was set up the day before...so was SM in charge of any other kids? This may be why LE is not clarifying...

Yeah, I know...quoting my own post-but does anyone know if SM was part of the group leading the kids around? For example, I just chaperoned a field trip and I had my child and 3 others I was responsible for.

to those who keep up with insinuations, i suggest you put yourself in this family's shoes, and not only be scared to death about your missing relative, but have to put up 'setting up alibi's with photos' and 'did he get along with his stepbrother' and every other minute obscure detail that is leading nowhere and is not helpful to the search and investigation at all.

Thank you, kbl, for this post. I can't imagine what it's like to go through this kind of trauma and stress and pain, and on top of it, have people shred me to bits over nothing at all. It would be a time when I desperately needed all the support and compassion I could find, and I just couldn't cope with the cruelty that surrounds these cases.

Sadly enough... this is very true. I will not post any picture of my child with a scratch, or a bruise, or in a bathing suit. It does not matter how innocent it is, someone else could take it as not innocent, so I just simply don't risk it. I am actually amazed at some of the pictures that people do post.

So of course they would choose the best pictures... but it is the "interaction" that I was looking for. If that was being faked there would be far more pictures of it.

It would make sense for them to keep quiet with whatever further details and information or timeline the parents might have. When the suspect pool must necessarily include school staff and other parents, etc. they need to keep a tight lid on specific details so that if "someone" ends up saying something in an interview that they should not know and has not been in the media....then LE can zero in on how and why that person knows whatever it is that they said. Thus, my own suspicions of the person who posted they knew of an e mail the mother supposedly sent. HOW could they know that? Therefore, LE knows either it is untrue and they are making it up or that something else is going on with that person.

My understanding is that she left approx 8:45, and that that is the time the chaperoned groups were to begin being formed and then go around to the projects until 10am.

TY for the info and a couple of comments:

1.) I am stunned that teachers wearing badges and people signing in is a new security measure. That blows my theory that this would be a relatively easy investigation sky high.

2.) There is no way they think Kyron is inside the school if they are keeping the school open, imo.
