Help!
I've fallen way behind and I can't catch up!

Here it is in a nutshell:

Everything we thought we knew is now un-confirmed.

They want more tips, have checked all previous tips, and have nothing to report about any tips they've checked.

Media--keep out...don't call us, we'll call you, unless we don't, then we won't.

We,(LE), learned how to handle this from the case of the last little boy who went missing 3 yrs ago, was never found and remains unsolved today, so we 've got it under control.

Today I've searched for red-eyed tree frog images, availability of hotel rooms in a specific city & a few recipes.
And I'm getting ads for Viagra!
I don't get the connection & I'm not sure I want to.

The hotel rooms?

In one of the first articles Zimmerman,PTA President and daughter in Kyron's class said she saw him at 8:15.

Found an e-mail ( this is just part of it, more at link )

All,
If you have seen local Oregon news or been browsing the internet or FaceBook there is a good chance you have seen an article similar to the one that Becky forwarded (below). While this note is difficult for me to write in this state of mind I felt it necessary for Kyron’s sake.

Optional actions for you:
The Intel network is large and wide-reaching. Many have asked me what they can do to help us and my answer is the following:
1. Forward Kyron’s information to as many people as you feel comfortable with; the more people that see this will increase our chances of finding him
2. Do not speak to any media if contacted; I am trying to contact Intel legal to give them the heads up and help with this situation

Some rough background:
The article that Becky forwarded is pretty accurate with details. He was dropped off at school about 8:45 and went missing sometime between then and 9 or 9:30am. We did not know he was not at school until we went to get him off of the bus at 3:30 and he was nowhere to be found. The bus driver immediately called the school which responded that his teacher had not seen him all day in class, at which point we notified police in partnership with the school. It is still unknown whether he left school grounds on his own or was abducted. Be assured that there are currently an amazing number of agencies and amount of person-power being applied to the search and investigation.

The statement seems odd. Here is my attempt to make something out of nothing and read too much into the words of the family. Is there an attempt to communicate a willingness to pay ransom here?

The word interest seems like an odd choice. Financial reference?

"Folks" seems strange. Stepmom has a master's degree. Dad is a computer engineer. Using a word like folks is out of place. Are they saying that their parents can help with money? Reference to friends, neighbors, vacation properties they could sell perhaps?

My take on this last paragraph is that is another oddly constructed piece of language. The first two sentences appear to be a plea for more time.

What do you think? Am I crazy?

It does seem weird...I will need to think on it...

just letting you know, lalalemon, i am snagging your tree frog avi. please say you dont mind?? :) tia
hate to quote myself, but i cant get the frog pic to become my avi. i guess i will have to work with it and figure it out. maybe trying to snag ones on here isnt the best idea. i will search :)

These threads are moving so fast, but I was wondering is there any information on Kyron's biological mother? or her family? I might have missed it and if I did I'm sorry.

Important to remember that LE are not obligated to tell we, the people the truth. LE can say anything they want to enhance their investigation, their one and only goal is to bring Kyron home, not to please us or the media. Seems for right now, they don't need the media or us. So instead of saying 'can't comment', he could have just told us a bunch of BS and we really don't know that he didn't.

Maybe their goal is confuse the perp - it sure is working on all of us. moo

You can say that again (then maybe say you can't confirm that) lol. I get what their goal is, but with the 2 PC's a day and the can't confirm comments, it is very confusing....do they want public help or don't they? If so we need a little confirmation on something, if they don't need help then we don't need any confirmation of anything. JMO

Actually....with all the things they did NOT say....they brought up TWO old cases and that is when I tried to clue in a bit on the idea of a pointed message kind of thing. The two were the Kim case and the Boehlke case specifically. I don't have any wisdom on what that means...it was just the most prominent thing that stuck out for me from the whole PC.

BTW....what is the Kim case anyway.....need something a bit more specific than that to search/Google.

I think this is interesting.

How was the case of the other missing boy brought up? Did the police specifically mention it to the media?

I've been trying to get a pic in my signature aswell... I think maybe websleuths server is throwing a wobbly with all the tree frogs! :D

I think the idea of a media pool is a good one. Someone LE can trust and build a rapport, experienced enough to know how to handle this type of story so as to give public info they need while not compromising the case.

And again, no comment. We have no information, no comment, and no bananas today. Thank you.

The email from the father is 1000% better constructed that the official family release. Now I am really wondering about this.

It is obviously clear that he was there that morning. The pictures show him and at least two other kids from his own classroom and IN his classroom when the pictures were taken. So, they can easily identify them and get confirmation. The very first parent interviewed and her older daughter both said that they DID see both Kyron and the SM there that morning. His "best friend" from the interview published this morning said he saw him and implied that it was more than one time that day. The reason LE doesn't want to put out specifics is to not taint the memories of other witnesses and to allow them to say whatever they saw without feeling that it contradicts something someone else said.

jmo
I agree. LE has already explained this. It's very clear, IMO, that LE DOES NOT IN ANY WAY consider the family to be poi's. I sincerely doubt that LE is playing some mind game with the media by acting this way in public all the while secretly thinking one of the family is the bad guy here. IMHO, the family has been cleared (homes and cars searched, email checked, camera's looked at, pic time stamps verified, alibi's verified, ETC.) and LE is, as they said, not commenting on anything publicly because they are dealing with very young and very easily led witnesses and don't want to influence their statements.

I agree you are making something out of nothing and that you may very well be crazy.

Just kidding about the crazy part!!!! but I disagree with your analysis.

They said they had like 10% of parents/students to interview. What if some of those people think their info isn't important, and what if one of them saw Kyron at a later time and assume the police know since all they ever say is "No Comment". If they would just come out and confirm SOME info, perhaps someone with info that they don't even realize is important will actually come forward?? People dont always think, they assume someone else will do/say something so they don't have to. Just throwing it out there...

Perhaps the 10% of parents/students yet to be interviewed are the ones who were absent that day, since they have on the average 20 students absent each day. shrug? (apparently not enough to call their homes, since they don't consider this an attendance problem.)
