7/28/22 Update: There is a scheduling conflict for Judge & the professional witnesses so trial on 10/3/22 has been cancelled. Next case management hearing on 10/3/22 to set motions schedule. Motions hearing re jury questionnaire on 6/30/23 @ 9am, order proposed questionnaire by 6/23/23. Motion hearing on 7/28/23 special jury panel summons @ 8:30am & trial now set to begin on 7/31/23 @ 9am.

Just a slight update from Ken just now (he's in touch with the Victim's Advocate): The male prosecutor is off the case. Possibly left the department. Lovrien appeared before a Grand Jury- don't know if it's related to the murder charges or not. Doesn't seem likely. And we may find out what it's all about (motions/charges. etc) at the next hearing on January 5th.

Lawyers informally define a demurrer as a defendant saying "So what?" to the pleading.

This is the only information that I have on today's hearing. Looks like a bunch of stuff happened yesterday. It's so frustrating the lack of information on this case. If I hear more from Ken, I'll post it.

Does the court site have "something" in the "Results" section? What you posted I can not see further than the hearing time.
Also I have a status check hearing on 1/13/23. Is that still on there? TIA!

Only that it was held. My screenshot didn't capture it, sorry. Yes there is another hearing scheduled for Friday January 13th @1:30p.m. PST

Okay, just talked to Ken. Have to try to summarize my notes. I did learn one thing: Lovrien was initially declared indigent, but is no longer since he sold his house. He no longer has a Public Defender, so he's paying for both his lawyers. Lovrien was present at yesterday's hearing. He's trying to get off on a technicality. He lost on the motion to sever cases, but from what I gather, he's claiming that he didn't have good legal advice or didn't have a lawyer present for the Grand Jury when he was initially arrested, so they are trying to supress the Grand Jury Evidence on the grounds of the 6th & 14th Amendments (basically bad/insufficient legal advice)- and we still don't know what this Grand Jury is all about... Also Ken was able to watch the hearing over the internet, and took screenshots. Two deputies were there, and so was the male prosecutor as well as the female who is the lead.

Thanks for the update. The trial should be available to the public if it's being broadcast. Not just for Ken, right?
I hope so, because I don't know if I'll be in Portland at the right time. One other thought that Ken had, is that the high profile of the case in Idaho with the 4 college students and their killer being caught using Genetic Genealogy may bring more public awareness to the use of the technique so that a jury would consider this standard practice.

I'm going to post a screenshot that Ken sent me of the last hearing (on the provision that I may have to take it down if it's not allowed).

Okay it's too large, so I'll have to work on that.... Another hearing is scheduled for this Friday at 1:30pmPST.

Okay here is Friday's hearing, but sideways I think. Lovrien is the bald guy next to the guy standing up in the blazer. (Will delete if not allowed)

I hope your family will find justice long overdue. This photo appears of a live feed/or feed in general. I'd try to get the login info (and it should be public). I assure you that you'll have some WS people show their support
