Great idea, but unfortunately, there is no "door to door". Take a look at the Google Map of Grand Island. There are no neighborhoods, just a literal handful of isolated large farms and having lived on such a rural farm in my past, most are posted "no trespassing". On the plus side, I guarantee the few farmers that live on the island saw the LEO activity and asked why so they would have reported something if they'd seen her.If someone knows the answer I am wondering, when a search is called off for an area, is there anything that prevents friends and family or private citizens from going door to door canvassing the area? Not just in this case, but anywhere? Because if it was my loved one who was missing and not found outside, I'd want to be knocking on doors if no one else was.
