Same. Obviously her family will never be the same. But we as a society have lost a gem. I'll certainly be following along to see what in the world could have happened to make this young man to lose his flipping mind and do this. I know the 'whys' are always hard to pinpoint, but maybe there's something that can help prevent this tragedy in the future.
Sadly I don't believe the 'why's' in any case will prevent monsters from ripping innocent families apart for their own sick reasons. MOO

It has not been mentioned but JMO, I don't think she made it past his apt door. I think he was waiting for her to leave and he grabbed her when she walked by him at his apt door. I'm just speculating
Where was his girlfriend, already gone at 6:30 AM, out of town? (Source: fleetwoodmac also a building resident said BS has lived in the apartment for a year with his GF)

Others living in the Baseline 158 apartments told FOX 12 off-camera that Schubert allegedly lived just down the hall from Jubane, and had been acting strangely over the past week.
..
According to an arrest document, Schubert is a white man with blonde hair and blue eyes. He weighs 230 lbs. and stands 6′3″ tall.
..

The couple spent Labor Day together on Monday, Sept. 2, and then Melissa drove back to the apartment in Beaverton, Oregon. Her mother-in-law said she would stay at the apartment because it was close to her work; while her son Bryan was staying in Bremerton, Washington with Melissa’s family.

The last time Bryan heard from Melissa was around 6 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 4.

When she didn’t show up for work, police were asked to do a welfare check at her apartment.

“There was no Melissa,” said Imelda Llantero. “Her bag, wallet, and keys are missing, and her car is still parked in the parking garage.”

Imelda Llantero said her son is completely destroyed and devastated, and has asked her to fly to Oregon to be by his side.

She said Melissa had plans to find a job in Washington state to be closer to her husband in Bremerton.

I literally cannot believe the timing of Melissa's death, not that there is a good time to leave this earth - but this is such a cruel twist of fate. How will her husband ever recover and move on with his life? Such joy, such promise of a bright, happy future. This is sickening.

Sickening. And we are all very supportive of Bryan. I hope he will eventually recover, because Melissa loved him and would have wanted him to. But it will take a long time. And it is horribly hard to say good-bye to a woman you planned to spend your whole life with. My heart aches for him and her family.

They were dating for 10 years, and there are many good memories. I wish Bryan to find the best way to keep these memories.

I am glad that Bryan has his family, and Melissa’s family, and Melissa’s friends by his side.

It is shocking how many lives he has destroyed. Melissa’s, her husband’s, friends and family one. His own family and even his girlfriend’s one. Not to say that his is ruined, too.

2nd degree murder might be if it was a psychotic episode or even drug-induced psychosis. JMO.

So he's been acting strangely in the previous days - was he upset because she went away to get married? Could this have been a stalker type who was obsessed by her and thought he might have a chance?

Maybe he noticed her return to work the previous day and then waited for her on Thursday morning to exit her apartment?

And all of her patients/would be patients who would have been helped and cared for by her (at least thousands)

Beaverton police say that as a result of an “extensive investigation,” 27-year-old Bryce Johnathan Schubert was arrested on Friday and has been charged in connection to the murder of 32-year-old Melissa Jubane.
..
No other details were immediately available about the ongoing investigation, as Beaverton police say they “must withhold further details to preserve the integrity of the investigation.”

Here is the link to follow the case. All lawyer, prosecutor, judge and document details will be available after his arraignment. Mondays are busy days for arraignments from the arrests on the weekends. Arraignments happen in segments, 8am, 1pm and 4pm.
