cannot be putting used propane canisters just any where

Propane Tank Transportation-Safety Tips
  1. NEVER keep a filled propane cylinder inside a hot vehicle.
  2. ALWAYS transport a cylinder in a secure, upright position so it will not fall, shift, or roll when you're driving. ...
  3. ALWAYS place the cylinder in a well-ventilated area of the vehicle.
  4. ALWAYS close the cylinder valve.

Judging by the photo, it doesn't seem like there was a fire. I would expect propane to ignite combustion.

What would explode without a fire?

From FB page of local Vol. Fire/Rescue,*
"... the Fire Marshall and Explosive Ordnance Detection K9 along with PSP Drone were called to the scene to investigate the incident."

At that site, no updates since Sept. 1.
Same pix as article in post #1 by @Rchard (TYVM :) for opening this thread).

Damaged Structures?

Looks like U-Haul truck was parked on a wide driveway btwn home & detached garage, w three vehicle bays plus additional space (maybe office, storage, home based business?).

Basing this thought on an aerial photo of property at
9228 Route 59 Lewis Run PA 16738 Property Details & Valuation

Now I see how two buildings were damaged. Glad there were no injuries reported.

In trying to see the juxtaposition of the two damaged "structures" & truck, I saw the address (9228 Route 59, McClean County) in PA. Fire Marshal Report.**
