It is slightly out of the way. More importantly, it is a dense townhouse community. There is only one way in and out. I can see three parking areas that "visitors" could park in. Two of them are deep inside the community and the other is right by the clubhouse and pool. Even if she drove in, she could have gotten help very easily that time of day.

I just don't understand this case at all. Maybe it feels different to me because it's local and she is my age. Where are you, Anna?

All of the comments have been removed from the Finding Anna FB page! What in the world?!

I wonder why the press or police have t mentioned that the car was found.

This is what that FB profile states now:
To our Facebook family, please note that this page is intended to spread the news of Anna and to find her. Please Do Not place any comments as these will be removed. This is an informational page only!

I guess these folks do not want anyone to submit possible leads or tips on her whereabouts. Very, very strange...

The person who was running the "Finding" page is frightened. He/she is afraid that Anna's husband or mother is going to retaliate. The page will probably be taken down once the police or family acknowledge that the car has been found, because that will tell us that we probably cannot save her. Very sad situation..

Retaliate against whom? Why? Is there a reason you think she is deceased?

This case is so troubling. The seeming lack of urgency by LE, the references to medication, the absence of a community groundswell of searches etc...well, it seemed to point to either a voluntary disappearance or perhaps suicide.

Now we have a car...but no accompanying media report or LE release about the car? I know that today is not a quiet news day but I did think there would be at least 1 or 2 reporters locally that are following this?

It makes me a little sad that a person can disappear, and for whatever the circumstances, generate so little media/LE/community interest.

Was she escaping an abusive relationship? Was she having an affair? This entire case feels like we're missing a significant piece of the story here - this is evidenced by the peculiar Facebook posts (and the fact that they do not want anyone posting any tips or leads),the lack of any media coverage, the silence from the police, etc.

The FB page has been scrubbed by the person who started it for fear that Anna's husband will sue for defamation if posters make accusatory statements on the page. I don't think it is likely that such a thing would happen, but there it is.

The state police are handling the case. In my experience, they tend to be much more tight-lipped than local police.

I drove past the house again. There is a car in the driveway today and the trash bin has been put out. First time I have seen any signs of anyone being there.

I also looked at the parking lot where the car was found. It is very deep inside the development. There were cars in about half of the spaces.

If the news about the car is true, I wonder if Charlestown Meadows had been canvassed at all. If so, why did no one notice her car there? And when was it put there? (And obviously, by whom?). Are there any security cameras there?

I have been told that the state police have been canvassing since Monday. I didn't see any police cars when I was there. Very few people here knew anything about this case until the helicopters showed up! The resident I talked to had not heard anything. I feel badly now that I had not posted sooner on the Nextdoor Charlestown site, which is how I got in touch with her. Another factor is that cars registered in PA only have a license plate on the back. If a car is backed into a space, you can't see the tag just driving by.

The parking area is for visitors. Each house has a driveway and garage. There were also cars parked along the street. It wouldn't be unusual, I think for "strange" cars to be there.

It is also a new community and has a lot of turnover. There was a moving van there today and I noticed a couple of "for sale" signs. There are empty-nesters, like the woman I talked to, and first-time owners and a pretty large number of immigrants from Asia. Lots of variety.

I didn't think to look for cameras. I would guess that there is one by the pool and clubhouse.

As far as I know, prior to Monday there was no canvassing by police anywhere. I have been trying to get local reporters more interested, but it isn't working.

I was in the area today so drove by the neighborhood where her car was found as well as what I think must be her house. Nothing going on either place. I sure hope there is some sort of update soon.

A homeowner who lives adjacent to Charlestown Meadows has posted on Next-door that the PSP have asked permission to search her woods today.

Thank you for the update, luthers. Please keep us posted.

Yes we signed consent forms for a search of the woods between our houses and lot where the car was. However it is raining very hard and that area becomes a steam where the water is several inches deep on days like this.

I am surprised about the helicopter comment. Must of been one hell of a pilot considering all of the trees and houses in that area.
