Oh - I did not realize there was a verdict already! Thank you for that @scarletstar . So did she get sentenced to a mental institute??

TIA! :)

Candace M. Parrow, 25, pleaded no contest-guilty but mentally ill to third-degree murder, aggravated assault and strangulation on Dec. 9 in Camillia Mulero's death.

Under state law, guilty but mentally ill means Parrow, "as a result of mental disease or defect, lacks substantial capacity either to appreciate the wrongfulness of (her) conduct or to conform (her) conduct to the requirements of the law."

No contest means that Parrow acknowledges that she would likely be found guilty if the case went to trial. It's the same as a conviction.

Judge Jeffery Wright will sentence Parrow after she undergoes a psychological evaluation and presentence investigation.

Elizabethtown woman sentenced to up to 20 years in prison for suffocating infant daughter

March 03, 2020

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. — An Elizabethtown woman will serve up to 20 years in prison for suffocating her infant daughter in July 2018.

Candace Parrow, 25, was sentenced to 9-20 years in prison on Monday.

Lancaster County Judge Jeffery Wright issued the sentence and said that despite Parrow having a mental health diagnosis, she was intelligent enough to understand the significance of her actions.
[.....]
Assistant District Attorney Karen Mansfield told Judge Wright, "[Parrow] knew what she did. She was smart enough to lie to the police about what happened. She strangled her 4-month-old infant."

Parrow’s defense lawyer said she has intellectual disabilities and suffered from post-partum depression.
