Would he have to walk across the 422 bypass to get to the Thun Trail from Trooper Thorn? Or is there another way? I am not very familiar with that area but I do drive up and down 422, I can tell you that it is a very busy road and the Schuylkill River runs along it as well.

No, he would not have to. The trail is directly behind the tavern.

The trail is directly behind Trooper Thorn's. The race I did started right in their backyard basically. There is an open grass field there and then farther down a small parking area for the trail. After that, the trail crosses over the river with they bypass going parallel to it. Of course, the trail goes the other direction (north) too.

If you go on Wfmz.com there is a new article and video about his time in the bar and video footage of him leaving the bar and walking past his car. I don't know how to link this so maybe someone else can put it on his page. The whole area is praying for him to be found. Have been to Trooper Thorns Irish Pub and it's a nice place with great food. The Thun Trail has had some crime problems but my husband bikes it and there is a path next to one of the bridges that you could get down to the water. Just hope he's found soon!

Interesting. So it seems like he was headed in the direction of the road and not the trail. To me, not knowing how he normally walks, he looks a little unsteady on his feet when he's approaching the door to leave, but then walking quite purposefully and fast outside.

With whom was he texting during his time at the bar?

Hopefully they can determine who he was texting with at the bar. I thought the same thing my first impression was he looked a little unsteady as he went out the door, but he was walking really fast with a purpose , not slowly rambling once he got outside. Hope they find him today. Thanks for posting the video!

He still could have headed to the trail. When you leave Trooper Thorns you walk up the street and then you come to a parking lot which leads to the trail. He could have gone that way or stayed on the route 10. I don't know how many other cameras would be in that area.

I, too, am hoping that Brad is found today. His sister has been working so hard coordinating searches and keeping everyone updated via her FB page. He comes across as an exceptionally kind, hard-working, intelligent young man, or the type of person whose company I most certainly would enjoy.

It's almost impossible to know without being familiar with Brad's usual demeanor and mannerisms, but the general impression I get from the video footage is perhaps he was heading somewhere specific after he left the bar, like he had to be somewhere by a certain time. They really need to find out who he was communicating with whether by text or SM apps, etc. Also, where did his phone last ping?

Another thing is Brad left his car at the bar. The bar owner said he had two glasses of wine. I'm someone who is basically incapacitated after a half glass of wine ;), but how about Brad? Did he leave on foot because he had had too much to drink, or did he plan on returning maybe after meeting up with someone?

By the way, it is truly refreshing to see a bar owner speaking out on behalf of a patron who goes missing immediately following a visit to her business, even posting about it on FB. Sadly, this is something that almost never happens.

According to his sister's FB page, this morning, the searchers are focusing their efforts on the road Brad was last seen. To the locals, are there other businesses with cameras near the bar that could have recorded Brad, possibly giving clues as to how far down the road he might have gotten?

There are lots of small businesses on that road, and I would assume at least some of them have exterior cameras.

Could he have been heading to Alvernia College to meet someone ? Its down route 10 on the right. He looked like he was walking fast to maybe meet someone at a certain time. Just a thought , but I am sure they are checking this.

Yet another case that really tugs at the heartstrings ....

Just looked at Brad's FB page again, and really can't help but to consider the mental health angle.

From the website of the organization for which he is a liaison:

"Brad’s benzodiazepine injury from Xanax began in 2011 as an undergraduate student.
...
In 2014, Brad became aware of his benzodiazepine dependence and the resulting harm to his health, leading to being rapidly tapered off the drug in a week. After suffering four agonizing months from a too rapid withdrawal, he was reinstated on Valium and slowly tapered off the drug for a year. Brad completed his taper off Valium in August 2016."

August of last year was when a close friend of Brad's committed suicide, too. At the time, Brad wrote, "On far too many occasions I have feared that my own healing journey might end the same way Bill's just did."

I hope that Brad was continuing to receive proper care -if indeed indicated- prior to his disappearance, as there are quite a few non-benzo medications available to treat various psychiatric illnesses, as is therapy.

According to his sister, yesterday's search included people on foot, dogs (not sure as to what kind), folks sharing flyers, as well as boats. Perhaps it would help if they could get a SAR organization involved at this point.

At the same time, still wondering if he was planning on meeting up with someone after he left the bar.

This is close to my heart. My friend is the MIL of his sister, whose children adored him. Please keep the family in your prayers and if you know something please call police.

(And no, they no nothing more than what is in the paper.)

I was feeling very concerned that Brad took his own life.
I am some what happy that his body has not turned up. It provides hope that he might be alive which is what I am rooting for.

The other thing that scares me is once again we have a young man in his early 20s, missing near a river.

Why do we keep losing young men this way???

Bumping for Brad. Reading his sister's Facebook posts is breaking my heart :(.

I wonder if they've been able to ascertain who he was last texting with yet. And if it gave them any clues as to his state of mind.

I am hoping today is the day they find him. It's breaking my heart to read his sister's posts too. He is so loved by all and what a wonderful family it seems he has. Please let him walk through their door or be found soon. If anyone hears of more searches post here so we know. It does seem like they are concentrating around Thun Trail in their searches. Hope his phone gives them some clues. Where are you Brad?

Bumping for Brad....Praying for him and his family that loves him so!

New article from the local paper and alittle bit more information from police. I wonder why Brad's family didn't want to talk or say anything to the reporter?

Isn't this new information? "Schappell said a sneaker believed to have belonged to Verret was found near an island in the area of the Berks County Fire Training Center off Route 10, just inside the city's southern boundary."

And isn't this location NORTH of Trooper Thorn's? I assumed he would have gone south, if any direction.
