Former Playboy Model Found Strangled in Pennsylvania Home

Authorities in Pennsylvania are investigating the murder of a former Playboymodel who was found strangled to death in her suburban Philadelphia apartment.

Christina Carlin-Kraft, 36, was found dead on Wednesday night when police officers arrived at her apartment in Lower Merion Township for a welfare check, according to 6-ABC Action News.

An autopsy subsequently confirmed that Kraft had been strangled.

Christina Carlin-Kraft: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know | Heavy.com

Just a few days before her murder, Carlin-Kraft contacted the police to complain that someone was stealing items from her home. ABC News reports that police found some of her possessions — including designer handbags and pieces of jewelry — in Southwest Philadelphia.

It wasn’t immediately clear whether this had anything to do with the model’s murder on Wednesday night.

If it is designer handbags and jewelry, someone had access to her apartment.

Perhaps, previously the Burglar left finger prints, DNA being not as vigilant/careful with his actions, in a burglary in comparison to a murder, if the same person.

Model’s slaying on Main Line possibly linked to earlier burglary, source says

"Police are looking for a man suspected of burglarizing the Main Line apartment of a 36-year-old model last weekend in connection with her slaying, a law enforcement source said Friday.

Police investigating the burglary found Christina Carlin-Kraft's body Wednesday night after recovering some of her stolen goods in Southwest Philadelphia and going to her Ardmore apartment, the source said....

Surveillance video from her building shows Carlin-Kraft returning late Friday, propped up by a man police subsequently identified during the burglary investigation. That man is seen later that night leaving the building with bags believed to be filled with Carlin-Kraft's belongings....

Other surveillance footage shows the suspect entering the Ardmore apartment with Carlin-Kraft on Wednesday, but does not show him leaving, the source said. It's possible that he jumped from the balcony of Carlin-Kraft's second-floor apartment at the Cambridge Square building on Sibley Avenue..."

I’m not finding any updates today on the search for Andre Melton, a person of interest who allegedly burglarized her apartment, but is not (yet?) named as a suspect in her murder.

Here’s a piece on Christina and her family’s desire for answers.

'More Than a Playboy Model': Who's Behind Main Line Murder?

Family members of Christina Carlin-Kraft say they want the world to know she was "more than just a Playboy model" -- as police begin to piece together clues in the mystery of her murder.

"She was the sweetest girl, loving and kind and generous and thoughtful," Carlin-Kraft's aunt, Angelique Carlin, said. "Those are the things I will miss about my niece."

Around 6:30 a.m. Saturday, she was seen in the lobby of her condo building unable to walk on her own. A man was seen holding her purse; he then lifted her into the elevator.

Carlin-Kraft's modeling credits include Playboy, Maxim, David Yurman and MAC Cosmetics, according to a profile on a modeling website. She grew up at the Jersey Shore, graduated from Mainland Regional High School in Linwood, Atlantic County and worked as a 'Borgata babe' for a stint, her family said.

Person of Interest in Ex-Playboy Model’s Murder Sought by Police
Authorities say a man seen in surveillance footage “had contact” with Christina Carlin-Kraft on the day she was found strangled to death in her Ardmore apartment.

8/27/2018

"The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office and Lower Merion Township Police released on Monday surveillance photos and video related to a person of interest in the case.

Authorities say the person seen in surveillance footage “had contact” with the model, Christina Carlin-Kraft, during the “early morning hours” last Wednesday, the same day that her body was found in her apartment in the 100 block of Sibley Avenue.

According to police, the contact between Kraft and the person of interest occurred near South Broad and Locust streets and “the surrounding blocks” in Philadelphia.

Footage shows the man near the SEPTA subway entrance at 15th and Market streets. Police say he also may have used a ride-sharing service from around 13th and Locust streets to Sibley Avenue in Ardmore.

Here’s a slowed-down version of the footage shared by the Montgomery County DA’s Office:..."

On Aug. 22, Philadelphia police helped Lower Merion officers serve a search warrant at Melton's home in the 6500 block of Theodore Street in Southwest Philadelphia's Elmwood section, sources said.

There, they took another man and a woman into custody for narcotics possession, and discovered items reported missing by Carlin-Kraft, including designer purses, jewelry, and a Gucci belt, the source said.

It's confusing as the latest article I read mentions two suspects. One for robbery and one for her murder. I would think there would be some connection between the two otherwise she encountered two separate evil doers in the span of a few days. Just horrible and I hope they are both arrested soon. (I believe one person arrested but not charged yet.)
