"Narberth, PA — Andre Melton admits to robbing the beautiful model Christina Carlin-Kraft but wants no part of a murder charge. “I took her stuff, but I didn't kill her,” he told Detective Sergeant Mike Vice of the Lower Merion Police.
Melton, age 31 stood before Narberth District Judge Michael P. Quinn yesterday at a hearing to decide if the State of Pennsylvania had proven that enough evidence existed to have Melton proceed to trial. Melton faces felony charges for burglary, criminal trespass, theft and receiving stolen property.
Melton has not been charged with the murder of the local model. The 36-year-old model was found dead in her Ardmore apartment the same week that Melton allegedly robbed the victim. Lower Merion police say that the two incidents are not related.
Melton "is not being investigated for the homicide," his attorney, Lawrence Bozzelli, told NBC news. "He's solely being charged with the burglary and theft."
Jonathan Wesley Harris, age 31 of Johnstown, PA has been charged with that murder and will go to trial in May 2019....
Melton is accused of stealing $10,000 worth of jewelry, the victim's keys, Social Security card credit cards, and high-end handbags. Additionally, he is charged with stealing the title to a BMW.
Melton is currently out on $25,000 bail which was provided via a Norristown Bail bond agent."
