Oof. Just now catching up from yesterday. He’s armed with a rifle now?
That's a good thought. I was thinking they are pushing branches aside to look into the trees. The strong wind probably prevents him from leaping around too.I was watching that and wondering if it could blow him out of a tree
100%I feel for the community and the only bad guy is the escapee....but they supplied him with a car, gun, and boots.

JMOGrasping at straws here, but didn’t they use drones with thermal imaging to (successfully) locate a lost child at night several (okay maybe 5-6) years ago? It was admittedly in the middle of winter and also a cornfield or something. But maybe this technique could be deployed when it gets colder?
Does thermal imaging only work at night, or could they be using that now? Sorry if that is a stupid question.JMO
Weather in the area has been hot and humid for about a week. I've heard infrared wasn't very effective. However today and tonight will be much cooler, hopefully they can utilize thermal imaging tonight.
Yes, it can be used during the day. JMODoes thermal imaging only work at night, or could they be using that now? Sorry if that is a stupid question.
Its not a stupid question as thermal imagers rely on heat and heat variances are more detectable at night.Does thermal imaging only work at night, or could they be using that now? Sorry if that is a stupid question.
Thank you and @jimg77 for your responses. Its not a stupid question as thermal imagers rely on heat and heat variances are more detectable at night.
It probably depends on the level of the thermal imaging devise being used. Military grade thermal imagers work in the day time- but at a relatively reduced level depending on heat, terrain etc.
But....Thermal imagers have come a long ways. As with cell phones and a variety of other techno gadgets, prices have fallen to the point where every day people can afford what was once considered military grade thermal imagers.
Getting to the point.... the police are likely using pretty high grade, modern (but not ubber, best of the best modern military) imagers. These would be small, portable and would work in the day time to a good degree.
And that's the area he was spotted in last night where he stole the gun.PA State Police just reported over scanner of hearing gunshots in the area of Fairview Road in the search for #DaneloCavalcante.
Police dispatch transmission of State Police reporting gunshots in the area of Nantmeal and Fairview Roads near the search area for #DaneloCavalcante
N20TV heading right to the Fairview/Nantmeal area now (on FlightRadar24).
