Does anyone think this could be a match?
https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/22509/0/

Nancy Shipley fits the estimated height and she was of slender build. (Estimated weight of 100 lbs.). Wilmington, DE isn't too far from Ridley Creek.

The only inconsistencies I see are Nancy was said to wear a 6.5 shoe and had a cleft palate. I'm unsure if a repaired cleft palate would be detectable post-mortem?

Those rings are gorgeous. I wish they would update NamUs with pictures of them, and the clothing. The rings look old to me-not antique, but well worn and periodic, like from the 80s or 90s. The signet ring looks like it should have another gem diagonally across from the other one, like maybe it should have a twin but maybe broke off? I'm going to bow out of the discussion on what the initial is, I'm terrible with deciphering fonts/scripts.
If those remains were older, there would be a lot more possible matches out there-there were a lot of girls/young women who fit that description who went missing from PA, and neighboring states, in the 70s, for example.
Do they do automatic dental chart comparisons like they do DNA in CODIS?

You rock, Carbuff! Thank you for reposting those, x100 :happydance:
Do you know what kind of stones are in the solitaire ring? I can't tell if they're just tarnished diamonds or aquamarine, or a darker stones, like smoky quartz or amethysts.

I still believe, from personal experience, that the initial ring is upside down and the initial should read "C".

I haven't read the whole thread and I know Cheryl Iacovone has been missing since 1977 but have they checked her out? They could be off on how long the person has been there. With the ring possibly having a C on it and her having been heading to Ridley to see her bf who knows.

I hope they are running Cheryl's info here. The ring was also popular in the 1970s.

I'm also wondering with Cheryl's biker connection if that was the way they could have transported her thick into the State Park.

I'm surprised they haven't commented on Cheryl yet, since her investigating agency is Ridley Township PD.

With all the publicity the rings are getting, if it is Cheryl, hopefully her family will see it and recognize them.

My name begins with a "C" and I agree that it's a letter "C"....I have a ring with my initial inscribed.

I believe so, but I think it would depend on what kind of cleft palate and whether or not it was treated? For example, NamUs UP case 3299 is skeletal female remains found in Texas in 2002. Her cleft palate was not treated.

If it's a cubic zirconia it could symbolize an April birthday. Cheryl was born in April...

The article says, "The rings are unique," state police said in a prepared statement on Monday. "One ring is a Claddagh ring. The second ring has an engraving on it. The third ring has a green stone." (http://www.metro.us/philadelphia/st...keleton-found-in-park/zsJpar---jkQWolROrxv6M/)

It doesn't look like an emerald to me so I'm thinking maybe one of the lighter green semi-precious stones, such as peridot, beryl, or chalcedony. Or it could be colored glass or quartz.

What does everyone think of this missing person. She is outside the older range of the age range. However due to the jewelry I tend to believe the UID is in the older range. This woman is very young looking for her age. And, if you think the inscription may be a "j" as opposed to a "c", her name would fit. Or her last time would fit with the "c" anyway

Jennifer's Namus: https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/25995/4

My reservation about Jennifer is that she went missing in mid-May and the UID is described as wearing winter clothing. But everything else looks close and I think you should submit it.

I caught the clothing discrepancy too but Jennifer's clothing is not well described either. You can't see anything in that grainy Walmart video.

No, but it's clearly not what I'd call winter clothing. I don't think it's a big thing, necessarily. She certainly should be submitted.
