My observations of the probable cause document:
1. Police caught SP in an obvious lie when she told them Grace was sent to her room for arguing about going to a friend's house but could not provide the name nor address of the friend. Did she really think the police were not going to ask the name of the friend when she reported her daughter missing? That friend's house would have been the first place they would want to check...if the story had been true. :moo: ETA: she apparently later came up with a name and the friend and parent contradicted the story as well...
2. $300 seems like a large amount of cash. I wonder why she would say Grace took $300 from her? INAL but from a quick search online it appears theft of anything under $300 is a misdemeanor. Theft of $300 or more appears to be a felony. These laws could vary by locale, however.
3. SP says Grace previously left "for days a time"-- I wonder if GP leaving "for days at a time" was previously reported to LE or just made up to make GP look like a run away? I think I know the answer. :notgood:
4. SP says that Grace has "behavioral disorders" but when pressed later SP has to admit GP has not been diagnosed with any disorders. She is "stubborn"--what teen isn't stubborn? So what is the disability that SP was receiving over $700 per month for while Grace was "missing"?
5. SP says she would drop photos of Grace off at the police station later. Does she not have a cell phone? Or even a cheap digital camera and computer with internet to send an email? Who in this day and age has no digital photos of their child that they could access quickly in an emergency? Or, even if for some reason SP had no digital photos, are we to believe no other family members took photos of Grace at the July 4th picnic where she was last seen? But of course SP didn't bother to tell the rest of the family that Grace was missing right away...So I guess she could not call them up and ask for a photo. :banghead:
6. The no responding to calls from the police and moving while her daughter was "missing"...I can't even type what I think of that--no missing teen's parent who hopes her daughter will come home would do those two things...That's the most civil thing I can write. :gaah:
7. It appears SP got rid of Grace's things when she moved--there is no way I believe SP and Grace are the same size and shared clothes. Was the other woman present in the apt sleeping in Grace's bed? A renter or another relative?
8. SP was caught in another lie about when she had told her family about Grace being missing--and she was dumb enough to put it in writing in the form of a letter to the detective. How many lies is that so far? I've lost count...
9. The letter from the school file written in March that LE determined could not have been written by Grace seems to indicate premeditation. Could the suspect(s) have attempted something back in March but were unsuccessful or delayed until July?
10. We need a map maker to map out the cell phone tower locations mentioned and the addresses in relation to where she was found. Pretty please?
