The PA - Jamie Metzger, 38, Allentown, 12 April 2014 thread is reviving, and I wanted to make sure you knew. <modsnip>.

Rosesfromangles and FindHG - driving forces whom I've seen in action on other search related cases - have joined Jamie's thread, and have linked up with the Wolfpack Search and Rescue group working on the case. Part of the impetus is the desire of Jamie's mother, who is in poor health, to learn of her daughter.

I've recently joined and started a simple Google map to try to lay out the geography of the case. I've fed the map with what I could learn of the case from the thread, but it's still pretty sparse. I'm hoping that thread 'alumni' who were around for it's earlier days might have things to add to it, and join us in pushing the case ahead and finding Jamie.

Here again is the URL to the thread:

Here is the map. (There's a post on the thread with tip about how to navigate it):

I hope to see you on the tread!

Forager: THANK YOU for sending out that message to folks who have participated on the thread previously! With the WOLFPACK search for Jamie underway, we need to do our part by helping with whatever additional information we can come up with.

Lacy: Can you or Rebecca provide a little more detail on what Jamie was doing/where she was, etc. the last few days before she disappeared? I know she had a phone call with her Mom, and then nothing after that?

Thanks for letting me know the thread was active again!

I try and keep an eye on it.

From an article about WolfPack Search & Rescue in the The Valley Register:

"... We are a missing person search team, comprised of volunteers, who specialize in locating missing individuals through highly organized physical searches and Social Media posts.

We formed after our friend, Jessica Padgett, was missing for 5 days in November of 2014. Our organization’s President and Leader led the search effort with hundreds of volunteers. Sadly, it was discovered that Jes was a victim of homicide. We decided, in her memory, we would continue our mission to locate as many missing persons as we could... "

Richrd (thank you!) alerted me to some misplaced markers on the Google case map I'd posted. Two of Roses' suggested search areas at Leser Lake and Brobst Hill were many miles from where they should have been. I've corrected the problem. Here's a screen shot:

Jamie Metzger Case Map

I'm so eager for us to dig in deeper and help bring Jamie home! That said, I have so many questions that I am hoping one of her friends on here might be able to answer. For starters:

Last known location - where was the last known location where Jamie was known to be. And with whom?

Phone - What was the last date of her last phone communication? Was that with her mother? What was her state of mind, and did she give any indication she was in distress or planning to relocate anywhere?

Records - do any of her phone records or bank records show any activity since the last known phone call?

Possessions - where are all of her belongings and where were they? Was she living with the boyfriend and did he have them? Did he give them to her sister, or LE, or?
Does it appear she took alot of things with her (if she went somewhere), or was everything left behind?

Out of town friends - have all out of town relatives and friends been contacted? Did she contact them prior to going missing to see if she could stay with them?

Shelters - have all women's and homeless shelters within the vicinity received a Missing Jamie Lee Metzger flyer to see if they recognize her? What about the local Salvation Army and local food banks?

Hospitals/ER's - have ER staff seen her flyer? Any recognition?

Just a few questions to start off with. I hope one of Jamie's friends, family, or someone in the know can answer. Many thanks!

Am I the only one who is frustrated with LV law enforcement and the lack of attention missing people from the area receive? My perception is that unless family and friends or volunteers are heavily involved these cases are brushed under the rug. I don't understand!

These cases never move along as fast as we want, that is for sure! As far as LE, I always try to remember that they are grossly under resourced vs. their case loads. I'm sure they get as frustrated as we do, if not more. Looking to the future, I hope that technology development will help with these cases, much like DNA advances do today.

But you are right. The involvement of concerned friends, family members, and the skills of Websleuthers (!) is critical to advancing these cases!

Let's Bring Jamie Home By Her July 4th Birthday.

A tight, helpful synopsis, thank you!

Do you think it would be helpful if I reviewed the National Missing & Unidentified persons System site you link for similar cases in the area and noted them on the map?

FindHG, I thought the same thing, she has a very familiar face. Anyone know where she has worked?

Richrd - Thank you for posting all that info! Very helpful! And yes, it would be great to bring her home by her birthday....

Forager - YES, great idea

Heartgoesout - I will ping her friend Rebecca and ask

A tight, helpful synopsis, thank you!

Do you think it would be helpful if I reviewed the National Missing & Unidentified persons System (NAMUS) site, which Richrd had linked earlier, for similar cases in the area and noted them on the map?

I've included a map layer that reports NAMUS listed women who have been reported missing in Pennsylvania since the beginning of 2010.

The hard part, it turns out, was pulling the list from NAMUS. (I'm grateful for the data it provided, but the site had all of the clarity, convenience and efficiency you'd expect from a Federal website.) Once I had the list in a spreadsheet, Google mapped its 23 "last seen" locations, and all the data for each missing women in a few seconds, and on the first try. This was the first time I had tried this approach, and I was agog at how easy it was. Google has done a miraculous job of simplifying the normally tedious business of linking point data to a map.

The missing women are reported in their own map 'layer' which can be checked to display or unchecked to remain hidden. I'm not sure what to make of the information, but was struck at the average age of the women: 32.5 years.

Here's a screen shot of the eastern end of the state. It looks a bit of a mess, but is more intelligible when you use the map itself and zoom and pan appropriately. (See instructions on zooming and panning under the map title. Click on individual map markers for more data and sometimes photos. We can add to the information behind the markers as we go).

A lot of fantastic work Forager! Thank you so much!
I will post this on the FB site for Jamie, and make sure the Wolfpack gets the update.
This is so helpful. Map God!
