For the third time in five years, the Daily American has taken first-place honors for investigative journalism in an annual statewide competition.
In results released Thursday afternoon, the Pennsylvania NewsMedia Association announced that the Somerset County newspaper won best Investigative Reporting in its Professional Keystone Media Awards division for "The Disappearance of Janet & Marisa Shuglie." This three-part series was published in August.

Human remains were found in Turtle Creek PA on Monday (5/23) which isn't far from where Janet was originally from. I did see that Janet's case was modified yesterday, so I thought maybe they were making a comparison. I didn't even think about her daughter's NamUs page.

Circumstances of Disappearance Marisa and her mother Janet left the Coleman Motel in Somerset on June 30, 1985 after her mother and husband had an argument that morning. After failing to get a ride to Pittsburgh at a local car dealership they walked South toward the PA Turnpike. They were reported missing on July 3, 1985.
