Some very interesting comments from the locals on this case.

http://www.wpxi.com/news/18788989/detail.html#-

Those are quite interesting, from some of the commenters it seems the boy's biomom was only interested in keeping her girl children? If it is true that the mother's side of the family felt this way, maybe the boy thought he was going to loose his father to the new baby and Kenzie so he killed her.
It is a terrible thing when a child feels there is no way aside from murdering.

Thank you MeoW, I haven't followed this case here. I read in the beginning and then have now just listened to media coverage on TV.

I came today because I had heard nothing about his bio-mom and was wondering how she fit into the picture.

Yes, there are some very interesting comments said on that link you provided. I think that some of that should be sleuthed for accuracy. If any of those comments that have been posted are accurate and not just someone taking advantage of anonymity to blast away it could provide us with a lot of insight into this child's life leading up to the murder.

Good Lord! I just finished reading those comments. If they are truthful, it certainly gives alot of insight into what might have been in that boy's mind. And now, they can't even decided where to keep him. So so sad.

What really sad....two little children will now grow up without their mother. Two little girls will forever have to live with the horror of what happened. What help is in place for them?

I really don't care if this boy is "comfortable" in his accomodations nor do I care where he is kept right now, as long as it's away from the rest of society.

I'm quite sure if the adults in their lives care more about them than anyone seems to have cared for this boy, they'll have all the help they need.

And BTW - moving him from juvie to jail has nothing to do with his comfort. It's a matter of saving $$$.

His mother ditched him...but I haven't read anything about his father not loving the boy. Have you?

I don't care why they're moving him or if they do.

I do hope they are able save a few grand.

Well there you go. This boy appears to have been abandoned by his own mother. I don't care what else was happening in his life, that alone will screw up any kid. IMO

We have seen little information regarding his father other than the fact that his ex had a restraining order against him and he was shacked up with his pregnant girlfriend and her children. Oh, and he gave his 11-year-old child access to a deadly weapon. I'm going to connect the dots here until I learn differently.

Maybe I'm missing something here, but the two girls were the boy's to-be stepsisters, the children of the murdered woman. I don't think the boy had any siblings from his bio mom and bio dad.

I think I read somewhere that the boy has half siblings.

There could be more kids affected by this? I read the bio dad had lost everything, meaning his to-be wife, his unborn son, and the boy. Maybe the bio mom possibly had children from another relationship? I was under the impression the boy was the only child in the relationship between the bio mom and dad, but many relationships are more complicated today.

IIRC - someone on Topix stated that bio mom had another boy that passed away (mysteriously) and later a girl (by a different father) who is still somewhere in her family - though I don't know if with the mom. The implication was that she didn't want her boys - only the girl. And that is the real reason she gave custody of Jordan to Chris. Don't know if any of it is true or not. If she does have a daughter, it would be Jordan's 1/2 sister.

When there are 2 new step-sisters and a half-sister, a new step-mom, and a baby coming (which is so sad) I guess the boy was troubled and confused. There was an instance of domestic violence with his birth-mother who is now facing cancer. All those facts are very tragic. Obviously he thought he could only count on his dad and then he was bringing a new love and two step-sisters into the home. Why did his father think it was even remotely ok to have an unsecured gun in the household when he had three minor children?

Why indeed? This boy was understandably troubled. Not saying that makes it ok to kill anyone, but it does tell me that his father was most likely not tending to his needs, fears and feelings.

There seems to be some question as to whether bio mom is actually fighting cancer. There are some who say she just didn't want this boy - or his 1/2 brother - only her daughter. WTH? Whether your mom is dying or you know she doesn't want you, there are sure to be repercussions...IMO.

I agree.

I'm not saying it would be a bad thing if the bio mom didn't have cancer, it just makes it seem more terrible sending the boy off if she wasn't really sick. As an adult, rejection hurts, I can't imagine how it would feel to a young boy. It hurts to think about it.:(

Pennsylvania Boy, 11, Accused of Murder Moved to New Juvenile Detention Facility

A western Pennsylvania 11-year-old boy accused of killing his father's pregnant fiancee has been moved to a new juvenile detention center in Erie.

Jordan Brown was moved early Monday from a facility northwest of Pittsburgh to the facility in Erie.

Last week, Brown was moved from the Lawrence County Jail to the juvenile facility in neighboring Beaver County. However, it would have cost about $4,500 a week to keep him there.

Brown's attorney says the Erie facility is cheaper and better equipped to serve the boy's needs.

I hope this boy will be staying at the detention center. I also think he should be tried as a juv. He is only 11 yrs old and doesn't belong in an adult prison.

What this boy did is just horrible. I wonder if he ever let on to his dad how he was feeling? I can understand his feeling left out and being jealous of the coming baby boy. He had his dad to himself for who knows how long and then dad meets a lady and before he knows it the lady and her daughters have moved into his house. Then he finds out there is a baby coming and then he finds out that it is a boy. The girlfriend was no doubt excited because she has two girls and this was a boy. Dad hasn't had a baby in 11 years and it is a boy. Probably a lot of excitement around the house about that baby boy.

It is no excuse to murder the girlfriend and the baby boy though. This boy should have talked to someone about his feelings...if he felt he was losing his dad and didn't want the baby there. Maybe he did...we don't know. Maybe he refused to listen to what anyone had to say and had his mind set that he knew he was going to be pushed out by the baby.

It is just unbelievable to me that the first thing these young kids think of is to get rid of the problem by murdering them. You wouldn't think they would even think of murder. If they have watched enough TV they have to know that the bad guys end up in prison. It's not a happy ever after and everything goes back to normal. This boy is also going to need some extensive therapy. If he is put in an adult prison he won't get therapy. I just can't imgine this young kid in an adult prison. He is just to young. He's only been in this world 11 years. He needs help. Not what those adult prisoners will do to him on a nightly basis unless someone big and strong takes him under their wing. This just isn't right. I just pray that he isn't tried as an adult.

Update:

NEW CASTLE, Pa. (AP) -- The clothing of an 11-year-old accused of killing his father's pregnant fiance had gunshot residue on it, a state trooper testified Tuesday at his preliminary hearing, where the boy was held for trial.
Trooper Troy Scott Steinheiser testified the clothing was taken from Jordan Brown the evening of Feb. 20, the day Kenzie Marie Houk, 26, was found dead in the bedroom of the farmhouse in Wampum, where she lived with her two daughters, Brown and his father, Christopher Brown.
Tests revealed the residue, Steinheiser testified. Another trooper, Sgt. Kenneth Markilinski, testified that he found a 20-gauge shotgun in Brown's upstairs bedroom and it smelled as though it had recently been fired.

Thnx for the link Linda. The gun provided opportunity. Why was there an unsecured 20 gauge shotgun in a household where children lived? If he did it the troubled eleven year old killed her quickly and easily. The child's source of pride that he shared with his father was his ability to aim and shoot well. The shotgun should have been locked away and used only by him when he was supervised. If that gun was not available his future stepmother and brother might be alive today. That old hackneyed saying that it's not the gun, but the person who did it, imo, doesn't apply when the shooter is a child. The problem with this is that the person is an eleven year old boy who was isolated with no counseling and was being ignored. His father should have locked the gun away if he was paying attention to his child. He was a very fearful boy.
