Just wondering if "getting away with" means "hiring out" .. not necessarily meaning self committed ..

(Not that I am really taking that comment serious ... or am I ... nah ... well .. ask me again in 5 mnutes) :banghead:

I honestly don't know what to think anymore and can not wait for this lake to be searched. I can not imagine how her mama is feeling right about now ...

I'm not sure they expected to get the public out cry that they did .. I have come to think that LE and the DA from that district, live in and are quite content in their own "little box". I think the DA thought just because "HE" said it shouldn't be searched .. we all would just say ... well ok then, he's the DA so we should all agree .. didn't happen like that!

Even if this lake doesn't turn up Kortne .. I hope that now that he knows how interested the public is in closure .. that this case will get more attention!
 
The second top trainer at Penn National for 2012 was also a woman, a different one, but a woman none the less! Don't know if she was second in August of that year, but she was for the year in total!

I think they are stalling ! They agreed to the search to get
The public off their backs. Now they will delay!
Question is why?
Are they afraid she is in the lake?

They might have also delayed due to the weather. It was ridiculously cold here yesterday with wind gusts of up to 40 mph. Today was better but they are also calling for scattered rain tomorrow. I don't know anything about diving but I would think you wouldn't want to put divers at any kind unnecessary risk because this is not a rescue operation but rather recovery.

Unless something else has come to light indicating she is not there???
 
IMO .. the delay is for no other reason other than to coordinate between agencies. These are all volunteer groups .. there is no reason for them to delay because they are hiding something.

Since New Cumberland offered to dive .. there have been other agencies that have also stepped and offered their services. I believe there is a company coming in with under water vehicle type things, additional dvers from other agencies, as well as independent divers as well. I have also heard about the possibility of cadavar dogs coming also.

The volunteers have now grown beyond a small local River Rescue team and they really need time to coordinate a detailed search. It also is suppose to rain and be cold on Sunday so lets pray for calmer weather for when it finally comes together.

I believe the commander from NCRR said it will take place within the next week .. just not Sunday IIRC.

IF she's there and not real far in from the shoreline .. I hope someone is watching that lake!!

I think they are waiting for John Walker. He is a pro investigator and teaches diving for criminal investigation. He was also the first to volunteer and he originally said it would be a week - maybe 2. Here is the excerpt from PennLive article - march 25th:

He recovered the knife Lisa Michelle Lambert used to kill Laurie Show in 1991 in the Susquehanna River and he’s going in to Memorial Lake to search for Kortne Stouffer’s body.

Despite the reluctance of Lebanon County District Attorney David Arnold to call for a search of the lake, John Walker said there is nothing Arnold can do to stop him from going in when the weather warms up in a week or two.

“[Arnold] can’t stop us from going in,” said Walker, an experienced criminal investigation diver and owner of Lancaster Scuba Center. "And it's good to know that trained people who know what they are doing are going to do it."
 
It almost seems like Arnold is impeding the investigation. Something seems odd about trying to discourage professional assistance in what very well may be a homicide.

One of the possible scenarios playing in my mind is that right now it is a missing person case that almost went cold and would have passed from the public awareness given a bit more time. Now it has the potential to turn into a homicide case that will require time and money to investigate.

Something else is going on in the background that we are not seeing.

Any possibility that Arnold is related to anyone in the case or has had less than cordial contact with Kortne or her extended family?

hhuumm thanks for that info .. it's odd considering this claims to be the "official database" for info .. but then again .. it's "gaming" and "untruths" don't surprise me.

What we have is people with "egos" feeding "info" (true or false) to a young, naive girl who doens't seem to be the brightest crayon in the box to begin with. I think she is going to believe anything they tell her. If they say the scary man is the second leading trainer .. she is going to "report" that .. If they tell her he is the owner of the track and casino .. she is going to "report" that.

I do think that in her "interest' to help, whether it is really to find Kortne out of the goodness of her heart, whether it was for the 50 grand (which she has now claimed she doesn't want but would have been a VERY GOOD reason for a single mom to do some digging to begin with) or whether it is just for her 15minutes of fame .. she has been doing her own "sleuthing" for the past two years and possibly may have indeed uncovered "some" of the people responsible. She may not have the most accurate information BUT .. I can't see someone (the scary) making up such detailed stories implicating people that are known to be "potential suspects" (that he is friends with, mind you) just to satisfy this girls questions.

Like I said before .. She has now named the "scary man" to LE and to SS so he, (the scary man) has some serious explaining to do regardless if his story is true or false. Why would he say such things knowing it could put more pressure on his "friends" and obviously bring attention to himself? Most likely, "the scary man" does not want LE digging into his "comings & goings". (just a guess)
 
PTL thanks for that "snip" from PennLive! I missed that about John Walker. What a blessing to have someone of that standing come and volunteer his time! I'll tell you .. the community and beyond has really come together for this family.

I must admit though, I think some of it is due to the DA's unprofessional behavior in calling out a potential witness publicly, as being "not credible", but providing no hints as to why he has done so. The community as a whole doesn't seem to care for him to begin with, even before Kortne went missing. If she is indeed in that lake, he is really going to be held accountable for his inactions.

There is a young woman missing .. local LE has refused to turn over the case to state authorities nor have they been willing to ask for additional help from the FBI. They have never asked for the publics help, nor have they formed public searches.

This case has been bungled since LE's last "mystery" knock at the door(s) the night Kortne went missing. It almost seems LE has been in "CYA mode" ever since.

I would LOVE to hear the last 911 calls from the neighbor regarding the "stomping" on the floor. Did they (the neighbors) describe it as "stomping" or did they describe it as "fighting"? "Kortne was Stomping on the floor because she was mad" is that just CP's "version" of what was going on so that's how it was "reported"? ..

One comment that has ALWAYS stuck out to me from the get go .. the neighbors said they believe that Kortne just walked away and met with foul play elsewhere .. why would the *think* that? Did they actually see her leave that night?? Kind of an odd comment just to randomly say. JMO

Exactaly!! Penn National Mafia .. she has now uncovered the whole lot of them! She has really opened a can of worms .. no wonder the DA isn't happy. <obvious sarcasm>

Honesly, Snoop .. I could easily dismiss her Memorial Lake claim if "others" have not heard the same story .. maybe not the "Amanda version" ... but I was told by someone credible that Memorial Lake was definately brought up before as Kortnes resting place.

Regardless .. I think EVERY lake and quarry as well as the woods should have been searched from the get go. Everywhere should have been searched .. forever .. until she is found. (yes .. that's the emotional me saying that obviously not the logical me) .. But searching ANYWHERE is better than searching NO WHERE!

Help me follow your line of thinking Cutter .. I'm sure you have something in mind .. I'm just not getting it .. (sometimes it takes me awhile)

While the track is not (and no crime has been committed at the track .. well .. pertaining to this case at least) ;) Memorial Lake as well as the potential crime scene is in Lebanon County.
 
I'm wondering if the DA in Lebanon County knows of something going on the grand jury investigation in Dauphin County where the track is located or doesn't want to get further involved...

Not sure it means anything at all...just wondering...

Gotcha now Cutter .. IDK .. I'm wondering if the DA and local LE just might not want to deal with the bigger issue that lies ahead if this case is moved forward. Sad .. but that's kinda the way I'm leaning.
 
Any new news on the proposed lake search?
