In case anyone is not familiar with area, this is not taking place in Center City Philly. Instead it is a neighborhood of North Philly. Ironically this neighborhood is named Nicetown.

Did you ever hear on the news about a suspect in custody? They haven't mentioned that again since near the beginning of all of this. MOO

Never heard any mention of a suspect in custody. Not even mentioned in the scrolling info at the bottom of the screen. Not sure who the person was you had an image of, but the news has not shown that either.

2 Cops Trapped Inside N. Philly House Freed; 6 Others Shot

There have been conflicting reports about others who may have been taken into police custody in the aftermath of the initial raid. Police initially said at least one suspect was taken into custody, but Ross said at a press briefing that he couldn't say with certainty that anyone remained in custody.

Weird. Will have a look back when I get a chance and see if they've amended those articles. MOO

Two officers who were being held hostage by a gunman inside a Philadelphia home have been rescued by SWAT members after the shooter shot six other cops with an AK-47 during a drugs raid.

Philadelphia Police Sgt Eric Gripp tweeted shortly after 9.30pm that the two officers 'have been safely evacuated by PPD SWAT'.

'Suspect is still armed and inside house. Continue to avoid the area.'

One of the officers, a father-of-two, was shot in the head, but the bullet grazed him and he's expected to survive.

Two other officers were also injured in a car accident while responding to the shooting. All of the officers were either transported to Temple University Hospital or Einstein Medical Center.

Just my own opinion here, but I believe if there was a suspect in custody, the local news would mention it. I have seen nothing about that.

I’d be a bit surprised if no one was in custody at this point.

This started off as a drug raid, so unless he was the only one home, there should have been arrests.

Usually there’s more than one person crashing at a place like that, even if someone lives alone.

It appears that only one of these suspects decided to shoot law enforcement.

I am thinking the other hostages (not LE) were part of the raid target. jmo

Gov. Tom Wolf issued this statement:

“Frances and I are deeply troubled by another mass shooting in our commonwealth. Our thoughts are with the injured officers and their families, the Philadelphia Police Department, the medical staff treating the officers, and all those effected by this dangerous event, including the residents of these neighborhoods.

“I spoke with Mayor Kenney this evening to pledge the commonwealth’s full support for whatever is needed to bring this ordeal to an end. We will continue to support the victims, the police force and all of Philadelphia’s residents.

“Tonight is another reminder of the selfless sacrifice of our law enforcement officers and first responders. We are praying for a peaceful resolution and the full recovery of all those injured. We must remain committed to combatting violence and getting dangerous weapons out of our communities.”

Four women were escorted out of the building by Philadelphia police SWAT members, said Greg Argos, a reporter for KYW.

The KYW reporter described the women as “visibly upset, crying, as they were escorted down the street.”

One woman said of the officers: “They kept us safe the whole time, the whole time, they kept us safe.”

That's what I believe as well. LE showed up with a warrant around 4:30. Maybe they did take 1 person in custody according to the narcotics warrant. The suspected shooter however, remains uncaptured. MOO

Exactly. I think that’s very likely.

The focus at this point is on the shooter, and the law enforcement personnel that are giving these briefings, may not be up to speed on that aspect.

It’s irrelevant at this moment.

Were the four women residents of the building?

This guy is probably texting or facetiming his mom, his friends, his fellow criminals, maybe a little social media. Imagine being him. He has got to know that there is no way he's getting out, unless he is doing some serious drugs and can't grasp the facts. It's long-term prison for him unless he decides not to be taken alive. It's good-bye time.
