There was land and brush right next to that ledge and fence. He could have peed from the edge of the parking lot onto that brush without having to go up onto a ledge or get near the water. I dont think a drunk person or even a sober person would have the idea to go onto that ledge if they had to pee, imo.

For some males, peeing in a river is a privilege. Yup, I said it. :blushing:

I am leaning towards what I bolded above. Kevinc, did Kildare's happen to say when the debit card was found? I am assuming they would say "that night" (when Shane was in the bar), but I am wondering if the debit card was mysteriously found "later." If "later" maybe the debit card was planted as well (just like the keys, if they were in fact, thrown in the river).

I am Going to say this and Its my Opinion

If someone had those keys and went back there to toss them in its pretty bold to do so knowing that LE and Family go there constantly to stare at the water, look for Shane and just to be there. I myself have gone there at 12am 1am or 2 am to just see something.

No One is saying he definitely went up there on the ledge though. Just because the keys were found near there in the river doesn't mean he was there on the ledge. Entry point which no one knows could have been further up and the keys moved with the current.

I had asked before about this ledge, and I believe that either takeittothebank or alwaysonthecase responded to me (I'm sorry I don't have a moment now to go back and look) about the logistics of this ledge, and I thank you for responding. Possibly he was in the brush area next to the ledge and fell down that slope. I believe I remember that folks said that brush was not disturbed, but....

Also, I am still unclear about that gate on the fence by the ledge. If Shane was standing in the brush next to the gate area, could he have possibly tried to open that gate to get out of that area? Or is it inconsequential about the gate? Could he have just walked around that ledge area to the parking lot and out of Venice Island that way?

What is the purpose of the gate on the fence around that ledge?

Its not a Full gate its like a piece of fence sticking over the ledge as a security measure. Its like on a highway fence there is extra fence over a bridge to secure it from jumpers. this portion of that fence was bent back but could have been done at any time during search and investigations.

To me, It looks like the fence has an extra piece that sticks out which is designed to block people from walking along the ledge, but it can be easily moved. Here is the picture that Alwaysonthecase posted

IMO. Going here seems to be out of the way, especially for a drunk person who would probably choose to pee somewhere easier.

And The problem with this is everyone stating he went here to pee. No one is saying that this could be Shane's Point of entry in the river. That is just where the Keys were found in the water and it wasn't on the edge as some media outlets have stated. It was a good 20 to 30 ft in the river on the bottom of the river. the point of that wall is just a marker that is easy to tell approximately where they were found.

Thank you, Kevinc.

Kevin, I think most people on here are thinking of a "what if" scenario.

Question on the above possibility? How far of a walk to WaWa are we talking? Given the weather and lack of jacket - I would think he may want to meet up with his friends again then get cigarettes along the way. Would the 24-hour CVS be on his way home (I think it's on Ridge)?

I cannot stand the cold weather and if I smoked, I think I would just bum one from someone outside the bars rather than walking but others who don't mind the cold could be totally different.

I still want to know if the DJ on the 2nd floor was contacted - I can't imagine he (assuming male) wasn't spoken with already. I posted that question on Thread 4 but it was closing so may have gotten skipped. I thought that DJ could possibly confirm the last actions that occured at the bar involving his equipment. I am also curious where he parked that evening and whether he possibly could have seen Shane in the parking lot. Perhaps some tension was there for having been escorted out and the incident was brought up again leading to an altercation. Completely no basis for this line of thinking but just another possibility that hopefully we can rule out if we knew he was cleared.

the 24 CVS is not near his House. the WaWa walk isn't that far from Kildare's but he was never there as Cameras were checked by Law Enforcement. The 2nd DJ was contacted by Law Enforcement. when I posted I stated I talked tothe Resident but was not able to get to the second DJ who Shane bumped into. (his Table)

CVS no longer sells cigarettes

it has been proposed many times that he went into the water at that spot. Which is what I was responding to.

Not possible as Blackie's Bridge is below where the keys were found. So in theory he would have had to drop the keys in the river then disregard them and continue to go to the bridge and just walk to that said destination.

Thank you so the Bridge is closer to Venice Island area? I think I feel like a bad local lol

I would think and probably gurantee LE spoke with the DJ whose table he bumped into. I know he never made it to Wawa but I was asking out loud could he have thought about going towards that way through the lot somehow? And never made it? Because he fell in?

Jonesy, that is one thing I was also thinking about. What is the name of that big bridge we can see in photos to the north of the little canal bridge that Shane walked over? Is it the Green Lane bridge? Is the WaWa on the other side of that?

What is Blackie's bridge?

Agree - that would be way too risky and I think if anyone took them and wanted to discard, they would have disposed of them any place but there. As a parent, it breaks my heart envisioning his loved ones staring at that water. I cannot imagine being at the mercy of the tide and wondering when it will produce some hint. This whole thing is just a nightmare - I do hope they get closure.

When this all began, I had hoped he was at a friends place back at college or had an argument with his parent(s) at some point during that night and took off. I guess either of those scenarios is completely off the table at this point in time.

I am not sure what exactly you are referring too the large bridge archway whatever you want to call it next to the Billboard to the right of the parking lot is the Green Lane Bridge Kevin may know better than me but I don't think you would have access to the bridge from the parking lot but I do not know for sure. I am not 100 percent sure what Blackie's bridge is myself being a local I know kids went there to have keg parties and I think it's closer to Venice Island, we have a lot of wooded areas in Manayunk near the canal trails and so forth. I am more familar with other wooded areas away from Main Street. Kevin or others may know better than me the layout of all of this down there.

BBM. Yes, that is bridge I meant (Green Lane).

Never heard of Blackie's bridge before it was mentioned here.

Thank you, Jonesy. :)

I read in the news it was 10 feet from the wall. You say 20-30ft.
It has been reported he didn't appear intoxicated- but most of us are inclined to believe otherwise.
The ping, the bouncers- left, right---saw him, didn't see him---the debit card. Totally inconsistant stories.
Does anyone really know the actual truths here?... Nope. Sad.
I fear with this reckless timeline and inaccurate reports he might not ever be found.
Very difficult to separate the wheat from the chaff.
The only positive thing is whoever is investigating his disappearance, most likely know what to believe & what not to believe.

My theory is that the keys were tossed in the night he vanished.
