Why would that not be another accomplice or hindering an investigation or something of that nature? Very disturbing behavior by all kids with this knowledge.

I know some states have it on the books that if you know a crime took place you must report it. In this case the crime was not witnessed.

In the criminal complaint, it says Hardwick and Moye discussed robbing someone for weed -- and leading up to this, Moye had been talking about wanting to shoot somebody.

The two juveniles set up a drug deal with water's boyfriend in Woodbury , but Stephanie showed up instead.

The complaint says she pulled out the weed. Moye then pulled out the gun and shot her in the neck twice. Moye then turned and pointed the gun and shot her dog in the back seat.

The victim was still alive and the two teenagers talked about taking her to Altoona Hospital -- but by the time they got there, they thought she was dead so they did not drop her off.

I guess the motive here was to re-enact something they saw in a movie just to see what it would be like.

So tell me boys, what's it like.......?? Say bye-bye for 30 years, and possibly more. I hope they get that much just for shooting the dog.

Interesting. According to the affidavit of probable cause at this link http://bedfordcountyfreepress.com/?p=30603 it was Stephanie's boyfriend's MOTHER who reported her missing to LE.

Earlier reports sure made it sound like it was her boyfriend who reported her missing.

It's really hard to read and I didn't see a direct link to it anywhere else so I just enlarged my screen to get this shot.

Maybe he was busy hiding his dope. ..

This case is so wrong on so many different levels, it's hard to even find the words to comment on it.

Just senseless.

A preliminary hearing for two teens charged in the drug-related killing of a western Pennsylvania woman has been delayed indefinitely while their attorneys try to get the prosecutions moved to juvenile court... that's what postponed Tuesday's preliminary hearing for 15-year-old Ryan Hardwick, of Martinsburg, and 16-year-old Deauntay Moye, of Woodbury...

If the case is moved to juvenile court, the boys would face incarceration only until they're 21. Prosecutors want to convict the boys of murder carrying up to life in prison.

I am just totally alarmed beyond belief that two teenagers did this. How does one find another person willing to murder someone with you? I never understand how they seem to find each other.....sniff each other out. Scary when the youth of our nation start murdering in their teen years. Worries me greatly for our future. JMO

RIP Stephanie and Duke

Police: Boyfriend set up deadly drug deal

The boyfriend of a Roaring Spring woman who was shot and killed during a drug deal in January was charged Wednesday by state police from Bedford with setting up the deal.

Benjamin Holsinger, 22, of Roaring Spring, is charged with conspiracy with intent to deliver and criminal use of a communication facility.
State police allege that Holsinger, 22, set up the drug deal with Deauntay Moye to sell him marijuana.
Stephanie Waters delivered the drugs, and was robbed and killed by Moye and Ryan Hardwick, police said.
Waters was found dead in her car.

That useless boyfriend of hers should be brought up on charges of accessory after the fact. I guess she knew what she was delivering and getting paid for though, so I'll shut up.

From September:

Two teens accused of murder in the shooting death of a Roaring Spring woman smirked and smiled at each other during a preliminary hearing Wednesday, when all charges against them were bound over to Bedford County Common Pleas Court.

Deauntay Dontaz Moye, 17, of Woodbury and Ryan James Hardwick, 16, of Martinsburg were each charged with the fatal shooting of Stephanie Waters, 21, and her dog, Duke, on Jan. 8 in Woodbury Borough...

Waters’ parents were in court Wednesday and said seeing the exchanged smirks between the two teens was “infuriating.” “They act smug and like they don’t care,” Waters’ mother, Sally Harr, said. “They think it’s funny. They think it’s a game.”

From last month:

http://wjactv.com/news/top-stories/...setting-up-deadly-drug-deal-in-bedford-county

Benjamin Holsinger was sentenced for arranging a marijuana deal that police say ultimately led to the brutal killing of his girlfriend, Stephanie Waters...

Holsinger was sentenced to six months behind bars. It is likely he will be paroled soon. He must attend drug and alcohol classes and perform 500 hours of community service.

"The reason for the sentence is because it was a serious offense but he also has accepted responsibility," said Bedford County, District Attorney Bill Higgins.

Let's hope DDM and RJH get much stiffer sentences.

RIP Stephanie (and Duke)

From May:

http://www.tribdem.com/news/teen-pl...cle_b1c4ead4-172a-11e6-8f85-67f260e87540.html

Ryan Hardwick, 17, of Martinsburg, pleaded guilty to first-degree murder, robbery, criminal use of a communication facility, conspiracy possession of a controlled substance, possession of a firearm without a license, abuse of a corpse, killing a domestic animal, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and possession of a firearm by a minor...

Until Tuesday, Moye’s and Hardwick’s testimony about who shot Waters’ dog, Duke, differed, but Hardwick admitted killing the animal to Judge Travis Livengood during the plea hearing...

Higgins said his office is preparing for Moye’s trial, for which a date has yet to be set, but his attorneys are still trying to have him prosecuted as a juvenile.

Hardwick's sentencing is still pending.

Hi, Im from PA. They said in the news one wanted to kill someone and one wanted to buy pot. So, one got the pot and the other murdered her. It makes me so mad that they are feeding those two.

Area teen gets life in prison for murder

http://www.wearecentralpa.com/news/area-teen-gets-life-in-prison-for-murder

Bedford teen De'Auntay Moye was sentenced to life in prison without parole for his involvement in the murder of 21-year old Stephanie Waters. In October, Ryan Hardwick, who was also involved, was sentenced to a minimum of 60 years.

Moye admitted to fatally shooting Waters back in January of 2015. Hardwick shot her dog, Duke. The two then drove around in her car, smoking marijuana as she died in the back seat. Hardwick admitted to helping hide the car, the gun, and the body.

Bedford County District Attorney Bill Higgins said Moye is dangerous and a serious threat to public safety. Presiding Judge Travis Livengood agreed in court Friday afternoon. Higgins said Moye's history spoke for itself; Moye admitted to being a regular user of drugs and alcohol by 13 years old. He also claimed to have started drinking at the young age of ten.

Waters' mother, Sally Harr, said the sentence was a relief. "It's fitting. I do feel bad, but you know my daughter doesn't have a life. They took that. He took that," she said. "So why should he be able to have a life?"

Martinsburg teen sentenced to 60 years in state prison in Bedford murder

The members of the parole board who will review Ryan Hardwick’s case and determine whether he’s eligible for release from state prison likely aren’t born yet.

Hardwick, 17, of Martinsburg, was sentenced Tuesday to spend 60 years to life behind bars for the 2015 murder of 21-year-old Stephanie Waters and her dog Duke, which will make him 76 years old by the time his minimum is served.

Just five months ago, Hardwick entered a guilty plea to first-degree murder and eight other charges for the Jan. 8, 2015, shooting in which state police said he and Deauntay Moye, 18, arranged a drug deal in Woodbury with Waters’ boyfriend, Benjamin Holsinger, but met her instead.

Court overturns life prison term for 16-year-old who murdered woman and her dog

A state Superior Court panel has overturned the life prison sentence imposed on a man who was 16 when he murdered a woman and her dog.

The ruling sends the case of Deauntay Moye back to Bedford County Court with orders to resentence him under new guidelines that reserve life sentences for only the most incorrigible juvenile killers.
