Thanks for the update. Hope Wendy is found, her family finds closure, and the suspect (if still alive) is brought to justice.

@ArmchairDetective74 - did your source happen to mention how these new leads materialized? Were they actual tips from the public or ?? ? I'm not asking for names or anything, just how this came about and why now, is all.

''Police are as soon as once more looking out and digging within the wooded space behind a house on the intersection of Indian Lane and Media Station Road after receiving new leads. Officials are assured they’ll crack the chilly case which they now take into account a murder investigation.

“I believe the State Police have done a remarkable job of getting this case to the position where we’re in right now,” Delaware County District Attorney Jack Stollsteimer mentioned. “Where we think we can find some physical evidence on that property.”

Stollsteimer wouldn’t affirm whether or not they’re investigating the individuals who beforehand lived in the home close to the search space in 1975.

“We certainly can’t talk about individuals or that part of the investigation, but what I can tell you is that property is of interest to us for significant reasons,” he mentioned.''

Yes they did but given my original post was taken down due to it being a rumor (which I understand) I don’t want to post anything else.

“ that property is of interest to us for significant reasons“. Very intriguing.

46-Year-Old Cold Case of Missing Delaware County Teen Wendy Eaton Now a Homicide Investigation – NBC10 Philadelphia - News Chant USA

Just joined because of the news. Wendy was a good friend - been following her case since '75. Also interested in knowing what is leading investigators back now.

Welcome. Though strangers to Wendy, many of us have been following her case for years, trying to figure out what happened. As one of her friends, are you from the area, and if so, does that location look familiar to you? I heard in a video that investigators went door to door, looking for her & questioning everyone who lived nearby, so I'm assuming they knocked on that door, too. That's one reason why I'm curious as to why now & why there.
You have my condolences.

Thank you Alleykins.
I am VERY familiar with that area - used to cliff climb near there. I knew Wendy from Penncrest High School, presided over the singing group Opening Hours of which she was a member and tried to assist with the initial investigation. I just tried to find out historical records for the house in the broadcast without any luck. Will continue to follow this thread - new but VERY interested...

I wonder if anything was found yesterday, and if they're continuing digging today.
I haven't seen any updates.

I don't think you release the news report like the one we saw without there being something conclusive having been discovered. Totally strategic to release it on the anniversary. I won't be surprised if there is an announcement by the end of this week. I pray there will be.

My experience has been it could be either way. There are two cases in Maine where they announced in the news they were digging, looking for remains of missing people based on new leads/tips, and nothing panned out. So it is possible for the news to released reports like the one we saw without something conclusive being discovered.

That’s true but to say the property is of interest for significant reasons (plural) leads me to believe something significant has happened.

I was in elementary school when this happened. I still live really close and it appears the property they are looking at is over 5 acres and very wooded. I was able to find who owned the house when Wendy disappeared. They had 5 kids who are older than Wendy, just not sure how many were still living at home then.

I still haven't seen any updates in the news, not even an indication investigators still might be searching. Someone indicated the property was rather large.

Possible they want to make sure they have all their ducks in a row? Someone familiar with law-enforcement pointed out to me that you don’t change the status of investigation from missing person to homicide without there being some thing very substantial.
