Yes, but from what I could tell by the way news reported it, it sounded like the case status was changed before they even started digging.

I still haven't seen any updates in the news, not even an indication investigators still might be searching. Someone indicated the property was rather large.
The property is large, and a description is available in most real estate listings for the home in question. Google maps shows 2021 map data in its satellite view - search on " Indian Lane Media PA".

I was in elementary school when this happened. I still live really close and it appears the property they are looking at is over 5 acres and very wooded. I was able to find who owned the house when Wendy disappeared. They had 5 kids who are older than Wendy, just not sure how many were still living at home then.
Wondering how you were able to find out who owned the house? Was by searching records or through local information because you live so close?

Still checking for new information daily - not a word since the 17'th. Is there a way to check on State Police Case files ( Wendy's is K2-14911 ) for updates without calling them?

Does it contain any updates about the most recent search? I've looked everywhere but can't find out whatever became of it.

I just finished listening to it and no, it doesn't. They one girl on the podcast did talk to a family member about different discrepancies about her disappearance.

Bumping for Wendy. She's often on my mind, as I grew up (and still live) within a few miles of her home. Her disappearance terrified me at the time - I was twelve years old, walked or took public transit everywhere I wanted/needed to go, and she was one of a spate of abductions/disappearances of teenage girls and young women in the county and in nearby Philadelphia over the course of a year or so. Many of those cases were quickly solved, albeit unhappily, with biker-gang members or hangers-on implicated and convicted of their senseless murders – but Wendy's case along with a couple of others didn't seem to fit that pattern, and their unsolved status was worrisome to an already hypervigilant adolescent.

I hope there is a lot going on behind the scenes, now that Wendy's case status has changed and LE has a location of interest. LE seems to be holding their cards very close to the vest in the aftermath of the property search, and I hope that's a sign that they're being painstaking and methodical in processing whatever they may have discovered. After nearly fifty years Wendy needs to be found, and whoever was responsible for her disappearance needs to face justice – or at least the ignominy of exposure for committing a heinous crime against an innocent young girl. MOO.

Wendy spoke to a friend later in the afternoon and said she planned to walk to a store to purchase a gift for her brother.

Wendy was last seen walking three blocks from her family's residence at approximately 3:05 p.m. at the intersection of Indian Lane and Media Station Road. She was headed towards downtown Media at the time she vanished. She has never been seen again. Bloodhounds were able to track her scent to the intersection where she disappeared, but there was no trace of her elsewhere.

Wendy's family told authorities that she was very interested in religion and planned to attend a singing group rehearsal at their church on the night she vanished. Her relatives stated that Wendy would not have missed the rehearsal. Her family considered the possibility that she may have joined a religious cult-type of organization, but no evidence has been located to suggest that was the cause of Wendy's disappearance.

A man named William C. Richardson and a seventeen-year-old boy were arrested for extortion after Wendy's disappearance, after they demanded a $10,000 ransom from her parents in exchange for information about her whereabouts. The boy was arrested when he went to collect the first installment of the ransom payment, and implicated Richardson. Neither of them knew where Wendy was; the extortion attempt had been a hoax.

She was a tenth-grader at Penncrest High School at the time of her disappearance and was a good student. She enjoyed scouting, camping and church activities and was considered musically talented; she sang well and could play the piano and the guitar. Her case remains unsolved.
