I have Beth Doe’s partial postmortem... I superimposed it over Maggie’s photo. It matched perfectly.

I would caution you for getting your hopes up based on it matching. There have been many cases of UIDs photos being superimposed on a MP and it being a perfect match yet still not turning out to be a match later on. (I did a superimposed picture of Marla Thomas onto Orange Socks PM photo, perfect match, but OS turned out to be Debra Jackson)

Yes, I know. I just found it interesting.

Hi everyone. Maggie's foster sister just contacted me. The trooper has found Maggie Cruz Alive.
Although we're back to square one, I am glad Maggie has been found alive, and did not suffer a horrific death almost 43 years ago. This also means that the foster sister, who initially made the Beth Doe connection, finally will be able to reconcile with Maggie, which is wonderful.

absolutely right. I hope that Beth Doe is given her name back through geneology. I know Jane was pretty mad at herself for not helping Maggie when she reached out to her. She really thought Maggie was Beth Doe. Now she won't have to have that guilt. I think I might be done websluething though. I will keep my eyes on the boards and give my opinion but my days looking for her are over.

Ya know, it's funny - sort of. I've been watching as the media coverage has been saturating the MA region and said to my sister, gee, wouldn't it be something if they end up finding Maggie alive.
And they did - good job PSP.

Glad Maggie is alive. Hope she reconnects with Jane.

Beth and Baby - the search continues ...

Don't give up! Remember, the internet sleuth that found the identities of the Allenstown 3 waited almost 20 years from the initial reaching out to the confirmation. It's a process and while it's okay to be bummed, it shouldn't be your reason for giving up! (Hugs)

While we are now back to square one, we did have a small win. Not for Beth Doe (whose time is coming. I believe it), but for Maggie Cruz and her sister! I’m glad we could get these two reunited and have her 100% ruled out as Beth Doe. Good work to LE and NCMEC for that.

I get it. I totally understand where you're coming from. I have to say, though, that all of us who follow this case, for years on end or as fresh eyes, owe a debt of gratitude to you and Jane. Your efforts, if you think about it, were beyond successful. A long-lost foster sister was found ... alive. That is something to celebrate. And while Beth and Baby are still unidentified, you, Jane and PSP were able to reach 1000s of people. Sure, a lot of them knew about the case already but think of how many "fresh eyes" are now watching, following and searching. The recent publicity and video could very well bring in the tip that identifies Beth.

I, too, hope that PSP takes that step and gets Parabon (or whatever org they choose) to start the genetic genealogy process going. That may be the last, best hope. But it won't detract from what you were able to achieve.

I agree. This is a long time coming. Recently Orange Socks Jane Doe was identified as Debra Jackson. I'm excited and saddened but hopefully Beth Doe will get the justice she so rightfully deserves. Victim in WilCo 'orange socks' murder case identified as Abilene woman

Woman With Massachusetts Ties 'Alive And Well,' Not Victim Of Penn. Cold Case
Yeah. Like Debra Jackson’s case, Beth Doe’s case is very popular within the Websleuths community and now that NCMEC and others have given it coverage, maybe more like Jane will come forward with new leads.

The high publicized cases are doing well! 3/4 of the Allentown Four have been identified, Debra Jackson, etc. This is definitely a good year for genealogy.

Maybe since this lead turned out to not be Beth Doe, law enforcement working this case will look into doing GEDMatch. I know that DNA Doe Project have been asked to do Beth Doe but they usually wait until LE approaches them.

I think I discovered a possible way to locate who Beth Doe may be. If you have ancestry or familysearch feel free to help me. Search place of birth Europe and then select the places in Europe where isotope test suggest she was from. Then in the residence area put in TN. Look at the names of people 1930-1940. Look at the names of those peoples' children. Then go to classmates website and look for pictures of those children to see if they would match Beth Doe. In the classmates search we would be looking for people from the southeastern part of the US who were in high school in the mid 70s. It might work it might not. This type of search would be based of the isotope test results for Beth Doe.
