Circumstances of Disappearance

Pasquale Porfidia disappeared from Marcianise on May 7, 1990. His track was lost along the short path from a small street in town, where he had just ended a soccer match with his friends. The last time Pasquale was seen seems to be at about half past eleven, while he was sitting on a bench at the corner of Via Tevere and Via Arno.

At that time, Pasquale was expected to be home for lunch. Searches started in the evening, and continued without interruption during the night and in the following days, but no trace of the boy could be found. It seems that two suspicious cars, a white Lancia Beta and a metal grey Alfa Sud , were noticed near the boy's house the days before he disappeared. It is not known if the cars had anything to do with Pasquale's disappearance.

Scomparso ad 8 anni, il caso di Pasqualino Porfidia torna su "Chi l'ha visto?"

The disappearance of Pasqualino Porfidia, the 8 and a half year old boy who disappeared 34 years ago in Marcianise , returns to the forefront of national news.

The television appeal

In recent days, in fact, on the historic Rai3 program “ Who has seen it?” ”, hosted by Federica Sciarelli, another appeal was issued for further information and news on this tragic story. The program also aired a short report entitled "The shadow of pedophilia, the investigations reopened in 2014, but without results".

The latest investigation

Little Pasqualino Porfidia was seen for the last time in the San Giuliano neighborhood of Marcianise where he lived with his family on 7 May 1990. In 2014 the case, at the request of his family, was reopened by the investigating judge of the Court ofS anta Maria Capua Vetere . However, the prosecutor's investigation did not lead to important results. One of the lines of investigation led to Milan where a man from Marcianise wrote a letter before committing suicide in which he denounced the numerous abuses he suffered as a child in the city of Caserta.

The mother's suspicions

Pasqualino's mother spoke several times about one of the parish priests of the town who, according to her, knew something, but who did not speak out of fear or obligations linked to confessional secrecy. The priest, however, always denied everything.

The letter

The case, after 24 years, was opened thanks to a letter written by a thirty-year-old, originally from Marcianise, who ended his life in 2012. In the letter from the suicide, who in the meantime had moved to Milan, reference is made to to the violence suffered, right in the town of Caserta, by an adult . Repeated rapes, which had occurred when the little boy was only 7 years old, and which he had never had the courage to confess. The disturbing fact is that this man accused of abuse, in Marcianise, lived in a house close to that of little Pasqualino.

The investigators, therefore, think that there is a correlation between what is said in the letter-confession of the man who moved to Milan, and the disappearance of the child . With the reopening of the case , investigators will be able to recheck the places of the disappearance, better analyzing the elements already in their possession and proceeding with the recovery of new possible testimonies useful for the investigations to find out what happened to Pasqualino Porfidia.

Confession of the parish priest

In the context of this rather mysterious case, which has been going on for a long time now, the confessions of a woman also emerged , who reportedly reported some interesting details to the parish priest, Don Carlo. The woman saw Pasqualino getting into a car driven by a man. The child's mother always tried to get to the truth, also because she was convinced that the priest could know more. However, the priest has always denied any reference.

Yet there is also the testimony of a cousin of Pasqualino, which could also go in this direction. In 2000, the cousin of the deceased said that a man of around 30 years of age would often show up in a games room frequented by children, offering money and magazines to the little ones.

There are also those who saw suspicious cars near Pasqualino's house in the days before his disappearance. It would have been a white Lancia Beta and a metallic Alfa Sud. All these clues have been supported by very specific evidence . For example, the magazines (they would have been pornographic newspapers), presumably given by the man to the children, would have been found near the Marcianise station.
