Life is = 20 years
Life without Parole is life right??

Actually if she get life (which is usually 25+ years) she can have it reduced to approx 20 years with Arizona's 85% law. That means with good behaviour she could have her 25 year sentenced reduced to about 20 years - THEN reduce it another 5 years for time served and she's out in 15 years total. If she is 33 years old now, she will only be 48 years old when she's released......that leaves a nice long life left!

:seeya: Is she as "bizarre" as JA ? I don't know if anyone could be as "bizarre" as her ...

But then again ...

:seeya:

I'm tellin' ya, doggone, it's gonna be a serious horse race. I watched her boss's trial, and she is one seriously malignant narcissist. We have yet to see how truly bizarre she is, but once this thing gets going, it is going to be bizarrrrrrrrrre.

I'm wondering about the big switch to LWOP. Thinking the strategy is to hopefully get that then appeal to try to overturn it and get it commuted to manslaughter, something like that as I don't know really how it works. If CKJA gets the DT, then they'd have to work to get it appealed and commuted to LWOP. Just thinking, asking. Does anyone know if that's how it might work?

The whole charade of CKJA wanting LWOP, claiming all of these great things she can accomplish just doesn't sound feasible or real. LWOP in prison just doesn't work that way, not from what little I've heard. I think it was just another one of her and the DT's schemes, an attempt to get the lighter sentence, that can lead to an even lighter sentence with an earlier release.

Lifers who have adjusted to the prison system and don't make trouble are frequently called upon for leadership roles in programming in my state. The reason for that is that it cuts down on training because they are going to be there and because the ones who are looking for something constructive to do with their time are likely to try to do a good job. For example, there are lifers doing AIDS education seminars and assisting in life skills training classes. There's just never enough money for programming and inmates are utilized when it makes sense to do so. Let's say there's a woman who has killed her husband but she's got teaching experience. Why not have her help with teaching inmates who can't read or write? People have a lot of time to think in prison and not every person guilty of murder lacks sincere remorse.

That said, I agree that Jodi is just being manipulative.

I'm normally against the dp but I'm praying for it this time. She shows no remorse. She will try to be some superstar behind bars. It's just not right.

OT: I know this is selfish but... I think I'm slipping back into my severe depression. Any prayers would be greatly appreciated. :o

Hang in there! We love you, Little HO!!:blowkiss:

.....she's pretty bizarre...has that entitlement air about her and is smug and arrogant.... Wacked....

AS's trial doesn't start until July. It will be hard to resist watching it. Here she is testifying about how she wasn't having an affair with her boss (who killed her husband) among other things. She is completely bizarre!

I can only take one crazy lady at a time...

I am hoping this one will be locked in the basement for a long time.

I do feel sadness today. I can not quite pinpoint it. I think mainly because I don't like thinking that someone has done something that causes normal, well adjusted people to have to sentence them to death.

That responsibility is something no one should have.

Gah... Please let this be the last day.

Good Morning DGC! I'm so glad you're around today. This waiting part is so hard! :seeya:

:seeya: Hi Rose ! TY, and I'm glad you're here, also !

I will be here anxiously awaiting a DP Verdict :drumroll: ... and it can't happen soon enough ... :drumroll:

Yesterday ... I was so sad we weren't all gathered together. For a minute I thought you all Broke up Wif' me!! :scared:

About 4 hours. I called DH and asked him to try to access the site to make sure that it wasn't my computer or a Comcast issue. He couldn't get on, either. It was beyond frustrating to not be able to discuss what was going on in the courtroom. :banghead:

If anything like that happens again you can always go to Twitter to check up on things. You do not have to sign up to read messages. Just type #websleuths in the search box (then click "all" when you get there). Several Sleuthers post there. Granted, very short messages, but it is something.

Holy moley!!!!!
I feel like I just tripped over a leprechaun hauling a pot of gold!!
Someone FINALLY asked her why she keeps talking when nobody believes a word out of her mouth!!!!!!!

BBM

Well, at 0:32 of this video, this guy spotted the leprechaun in the tree after you tripped over him.

It's making me feel a bit ill. I watched a whole 3:23 minutes of it. Another time, maybe.

Remember "Kill Gary Gilmore" in 1977? He was a Utah killer who campaigned to speed up the death row process & got his wish ~ firing squad.

I suggest The Executioner's Song for Jodi's very 1st prison book discussion group. [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Executioner%27s_Song"]The Executioner's Song - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia[/ame]

WOW - wouldn't you love to transport JM to that courtroom to question that snarky little <unusual person>. She's another whack-a-doodle to the nth degree, and the prosecutor is way to gentle on her.

Sorry -- carry on.
