As one looking for answers after my child was killed, I can totally understand it. I would want answers no matter how much time had passed and I would most likely pay whatever I could to get them. My personal opinion, though.

My sincerest condolences to you for your loss. I hope you found the answers you needed to find some peace.

As the parent of 5 children, 1 who was the victim of a violent crime, I too understand why a parent would never give up, and pay anything to find out what happened to my child...

Someone posted the above described photo (back a few pages). I wasn't sure if anyone had translated the article. The article discussed a concurrent investigation, being conducted by the Columbian Police. They are investigating the disappearance of two girls. The issue that seems somewhat clouded, is the date on which JVDS left Columbia, and traveled on to Peru. The girls were reported to have disappeared on May 13 - "presumably" this is one day after JVDS left for Peru.

I say "presumably", because it would seem that JVDS is very clever, in blurring his apparent arrival or departure times. And example of this is how he turned on the TV in his room, and told hotel housekeeping not to disturb "his girl". I get the feeling that he has done this before.

Apologies if someone has already deconstructed the text related to this photo.

The twisted coincidence, is that both the girls, and JVDS were known to be frequent visitors of the ritzy Bogata Casino, at which JVDS stayed.

This is my own personal opinion...

Van der Sloot is...probably..willing...to TALK about Natalie .....to get a deal is which his sentence is possibly reduced...BUT HE IS....JUST... NOT BELIEVABLE...

He scams EVERYONE gullible enough to believe his stories....Victims of his ever spewing lies....

He has shown...to everyone on THIS PLANET..........that.....he CANNOT...be...believed......all in my own opinion..

IF Joran was essentially broke until he received this $25,000 from BH, then without that $25,000 he would not have had the means to travel to Peru in the first place.

It seems careless and reckless to me to give a suspected murderer and KNOWN liar $25,000 and then watch him walk away.

Furthermore, I hope this $25,000 came from BH's personal funds and not from donations from the public to some foundation, etc.

Also, the second and fourth letters (symbols) appear to me to have markings over them. Particularly, the fourth letter.

They all look like symbols to me. Maybe because it's in a different language?:waitasec:

The picture of Joran appears to be of a couple of years ago. He now looks, for the lack of a better word more "mature".

Another question that has been bugging me.....

I keep reading about the police finding wrappers for date rape drugs in Stephany's car.....since when do date rape drugs come in wrapper with packaging stating what they are?????

It showed men with search dogs looking in the rocks, then men painting the rocks white in places. Not long after, the web site was disabled. This was an area close to the lighthouse where Joran said he and the Kalpoes took Natalie. At one time Dave was searching in the area and saw a police car in the area with the trunk open. As Dave started driving to the police car they closed the trunk and took off. (this was in Dave's book) There never has really been an explanation for the rock painting. One of Joran's first stories included Natalee falling and hitting her head and her head bleeding.

Do you know if anyone has grabbed one of those rocks for testing?

Ohh... thank you for posting that and refreshing my memory. There was (is?) so much surreptitious stuff going on on that island with regards to that case.

Hindsight is 20/20.
It has been five years, there have not been a trail of bodies in his wake.
He has had money up until his father died.
They saw an opportunity to possibly get info or set him up to do time on another charge and took it.

He is broke and stuck in Aruba and the victim has a different name? As long as Joran's actions decide the outcome I am not sure the geography changed much.... well maybe the legal system he plays against.

I just have been zooming in on the pic with the lady who is measuring the mark on his shoulder. Part of the tattoo looks like a "J" but it also looks like it could just be the way his chest hair curls.

To my knowledge the rocks were never tested. When Aruba was questioned about it, they gave conflicting stories. I think one was that a young boy died there, then they retracted that. These are the same people who told Dave that Natalee was probably in a crack house and turn up eventually. No need to look for her.

Most drugs are identifiable to officers just by the way they are transported. They may not being talking about commercial style packaging, or if there is a large market of buyers in the area they may know what the packaging a specific dealer is using

I don't think it was a little cellophane wrapper with a Ruffies trademark :innocent:
