The "authority" decides if there is enough to charge him and what to charge him with. Then he is charged and "assigned" to a prison to await trial. All this is going to happen in the next 24 hours.

Once he is assigned to a prison - he goes there immediately.

If they put him in Lurigancho - they take him there and walk him in, tell him what pavillion he is in (which will probably be the one for British - they said there was a "foreigner" pavillion) - deliver him to the "pavillion" and they leave!!!

He'll be dead before the next morning and they know it. I just can't see them allowing it to happen this way. It will paint Peru in a very bad international light. But, then again, on the other hand, you wear a glove. lol

I would not be surprised if he is killed within days. I just don't see him going to prison and making it very long.

He had is last steak dinner that is for sure.
 
I think they will keep him from being killed. I really think they are trying to do this right and they aren't going to let anything happen to him.

I probably shouldn't say this, but in a way it's too bad he's such a "celebrity", or gained such notoriety---all the interference by the Dutch,Aruba,FBI, mom, etc, may be making Peruvian LE and the judicial system nervous about how they handle him. I hope I am wrong, of course!!

If he was just the ordinary criminal (which he actually is anyway, why is he so special?) they'd toss him in Lurigancho or Castro Castro and that would be the end of it. Probably in more ways than one.

Editing to remove "low-level" because I think that means petty thief, etc--and Joran is so much worse than that.....
 
They really should keep him isolated from the other prisoners, even if they're low-level offenders.

bolded by me....I agree...that is FOR SURE...

Joran MUST HAVE known...all his life..the consequences..for the awful deeds he has done...he is not THAT stupid....

That is what happens to those whose uncontrolled RAGE, insolence, irregard for human life, indifference to other's pain and sorrow, defensive attitude, lying, deceite, manipulation, extortion, ...leads to prison time..

He continued without any regard to changing himself...IT WAS ALL ABOUT HIM...and damn whomever got in his way...all in my own opinion
 
Can't remember just where or what prison, but heard on HLN he will be going to a maximum security prison.

I don't understand why the family and the attorney are slamming the public defender. It sounds like he helped Joran to come up with a plausible story with the least amount of culpability. Certainly much better than the story he told Chilean authorities about the corrupt Peru LE officers who were responsible for this.

I also thought I had read something much earlier that indicated that there is a special section in the prison where "special" prisoners can be put for their own protection.

I'm sure his mother and/or father advised him he had better change his ways after they covered for him in Natalee's case, but apparently, it went in one ear and out the other. They still afforded him all of the luxuries and money to be able to downplay it. Constantly enabling him, while saying another.

Yes I agree it looks like a picture that was taken at a casino, bar or restaurant. but who knows when or where.

I suppose private defense attorney just trying to do his job. Not much else to go with due to videos, VDS's statement to employee to not disturb his girl, "fleeing" scene, what forensic testing will reveal, etc.
 
If JVS thought it was barbaric during the interrogations wait until he gets to either of these prisions he wont know what hit him.....IMO that is when you will see him try and spill the real truth about NH thinking that he will be transffered to Aruba to stand trial for her murder since it happened first....His mother & Attorney will be trying anything and everything to get him out of Peru and back to his home country to be in prision there...I don't think any of it will work, but I still bet they will sure try it.
 
I"m not sure if this was posted but it is interesting. This is from National Geographics...it is about Lurigancho Prison. They start talking about Lurigancho at about the 26.18 mark.
