Agreed! He looks haggard already.
He's had a rough week.

Slashed throat, tongued out pulled through the wound.
Detail: her knees were tucked up in a fetal position.
This guy is a classic Sociopath don't you think? Sociopath bleeds over into Psychopathic behavior. He seems to lie with ease and he really has no real fear when he's doing these things. High risk behavior doesn't bother him at all.
I think his parents are wrong - Natalie's case only brought to light the PROBLEM with Joran. I am willing to bet he was a spoiled and coddled liar his entire life. Remind us of anyone else in trouble with the law? Hm. I think we can all think of a few.
Thank you Nums. I'm trying very hard to keep up with the threads and I apologize for not being able to so far. (I'm in the middle of a move~~over 3,000 miles away from my previous home and I'm still in a hotel with my family).
Has it been reported whether or not he held a ticket to the Netherlands? Or has it been reported he was going to go purchase a ticket with Stephany's funds? TIA!
Okay I'll scratch off the Netherlands but I wonder if he really wanted to go back to Aruba? I'm still open to that ~ but I will change my mind as I catch up on facts I'm sure!

"Joran, he said, struck Stephany repeatedly, strangled her, shook her, threw her on the ground," Gen. Cesear Guardia told "Good Morning America" in Spanish. "And, when he saw that she was still breathing, he used his own shirt to suffocate her."
Van der Sloot also told police, Guardia said, that when was captured on hotel surveillance video leaving his room to get coffee and pastries, Flores was already dead. Guardia said he believes van der Sloot ate his breakfast in the hotel room next to Flores' body.

I don't see any leniency based on these accounts.
So far Peruvians have resisted outside pressures. Outside pressures will
build - that's guaranteed in this case. I wonder how long Peruvians can hold out against pressure to turn him over ... I think this is the most serious threat in this case (and Joran and his supporters know it!).
Latest JK report--no drugs in Joran's system. No blood or tissue on tennis racket.
I know I'm being thick here, but what is JK report? :waitasec:
Cell phones. My son has the same hoodie. Not sure where he got it from.
Hate to ask but what is that??
The entire community of Union, SC wanted to harm Susan Smith after she confessed to having killed her own children by rolling her car into a lake w/ the kids still strapped inside. I remember news footage of a whole lotta people screaming "baby killer" as she was being transferred from one place to another.
I think if they could have gotten their hands on her she would have been toast.
It happens more than we know, I bet. Americans are capable of the bloodlust for a killer just as Peruvians are. Only difference is, Susan Smiths prison accomodations are MUCH better than Jorans, I bet. JMO

Ouch! He's just aging before my very eyes.
I don't believe JVDS is going to 'suffer' at Castro prison as much as some in the media believe. I'm not saying it will be a happy cakewalk there, but he's being treated as a special prisoner, isolated from the mainstream, in with 'famous' or 'infamous' prisoners.
And...he has access to $$$ (through mommy and possibly others) so he'll be able to purchase some goodies and bribe the officers. His lot there will not be exactly the same as the destitute prisoner who has to sleep on the floor, 40 people to a room.
Peru is going to go to some lengths to protect him, if only to make sure he is able to be prosecuted. I bet the length of time for his case to get to trial won't be quite as long as the average person's either. Just a feeling I have. Right now JVDS is their 'star' prisoner and the eyes of the world are following his case and will continue to for quite some time.
I read earlier in Peru they do not have trials, the judge makes the decision. So far seems the judge seems very good.
I really think his plan was to pretend she was alive went he went to the store but dead went he came back. Once he saw the camera he knew that wouldn't work but because he didn't have much time to think it out he just went along with the ruse anything.
For those who might be interested, Surinam (Suriname) is not a Dutch colony. It is a country on its own and has been since 1975.If it has been reported, I have not found it yet. Suriname is in South America and it is a Dutch territory.

Why? What went wrong between them to cause this? I thought we
established last night they already each other and Joran may have
bankrolled Stephany gamling from days before the last night? (Maybe that report was wrong and speculation?) I just want to know why he did this.
IMHO, the most humane thing they can do to Joran is to lock him up and throw away the key....
I think you're right. And since he has a private atty, I think his wait for a trial won't be as long as the other prisoners who have public defenders. The ratio of public defenders to prisoners is insane, I don't remember exactly but it was just unreal. That's why the long wait to go to trial. Am sure Joran has the best lawyer his moms money (or Aruba's) money can buy. Hiws trial will be expedited. I hope all attempts to get him back to Aruba or to the Netherlands are unsuccessful. He's gotten enough special treatment, IMO, 5 years of freedom, globetrotting and gambling, thumbing his nose at the law, spending money and making a mockery of the Holloway's grief. Time for him to pay the piper. jmo of course.
