Although I am an advocate of justice for victims, I am just plain weak at seeing anyone being mistreated or humiliated. I know I am weird, I can't help it, can't explain it. :( I don't believe in revenge, but I believe in karma.

No, I'm right there with ya. I don't believe he should be raped, or beaten. If I look at Peterson on Death row - he's right where he should be. But he's not being abused. I believe in justice, not someone being beaten to death or raped. Joran will serve his time, and it won't be pleasant. That goes without saying for any prisoner in Peru.

bumping...

Can someone tell me what a 'JK report' is or a link to this information, please?

Isn't this Jean Caseris(sp) an American reporter for CNN ot HLN??:waitasec:

She has been reporting on this case

Yeah, sociopaths usually do get caught because they aren't really that smart - although intelligent in many respects, they are just used to getting away with stuff and they become so fearless that I don't think they plan anything out very well. Perhaps I should have said they are more careless, than stupid.

He most certainly could have found a better way to get out of this or make it look like someone else. He's just never had to work that hard to get away with murder.

Why? What went wrong between them to cause this? I thought we
established last night they already each other and Joran may have
bankrolled Stephany gamling from days before the last night? (Maybe that report was wrong and speculation?) I just want to know why he did this.

Why? He's a sick sociopath who already got away with one murder (that we know of) and assumed he would get away with this too, if he ran fast enough.
I bet his parents never held him accountable for anything in his life. Like Casey Anthony, he was protected and his parents covered for everything he did.

:twocents:Just a thought -- perhaps given the mellow cigarette that JVS "may'' have shared with Steph (or the GHB) might have made her fall asleep and may have been menstrual. (Only guessing)

Or she was put into bed and covered to look as if she was sleeping, so when the maid opened the door this is what she saw.

After watching the video of entering and garbage throwing, I must say I agree. Dear God how disturbing. An entire community wants to harm him. Dear God.

Can ya blame them?

It's no different than if he was detained in Natalee's hometown!

I thin k she works for CNN, but she might be freelance. She has been on every CNN news program the past couple of days.
HLN is owned by CNN.

The why is the tragic unkown in so many murder stories. Being Joran, and knowing a sociopath, I can see that it could have been anything really, anything that just ticked him off, irritated him, went against what he wanted. Maybe she insulted him verbally. Maybe she did see some open emails or something on his computer and confronted him about it. Maybe he wanted to borrow money and she said no. There's no telling and Joran lies about everything so we may never know the real reason.

Disturbing is the perfect word.

ETA: As much as I want him to serve as long as the law allows...I can't revel in any torture he may have to endure.

Well I certainly can!

For the last 5 years he thumbed his nose at Beth & family and the world after murdering her daughter and pretty much tortured her and kept rubbing her nose in it.

He deserves all of it....and the thought of his suffering ...well frankly, it warms my heart.

He might be "book smart" but common sense stupid. Evidenced by the cockamamie story he came up with for Stephanys death. And his bizarre coffee trip and opening/ shutting the door and getting hotel staff to let him in.
Was he hoping they would go all the way in, find Stephany and then his plan was to say "I'll be dammed, I was only gone for a few minutes! Who could have done this?"....but the daggone video camera doesn't lie, and he would have never gotten that story off the ground, either.

I'm with you both on that. I don't think justice involves rape and torture. It's uncivilized.

An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind... Gandhi.

Not quite sure, JVDS was calm at the casino. Calm during their stroll to the Hotel, calm while leaving with 2 coffees pretending to be "locked out".
Robbery as motive, desperation, hatred for women....:waitasec:

I feel there is a missing link here. What happened that set this boy off like this? This mystery has yet to be answered. I wonder what JVDS told the cops. The story right now is that he planned to rob Stephany. So, why not rob her? Why not wait for her to sleep, steal her money and take off? What transpired during their conversation that caused him to elbow her in the nose? Did he ask her for the money and she said no and then he hit her? That makes no sense. There must have been something that pushed his button so hard (as in when he threw wine at P. Devries) that caused him to lose it? What was it?

If it has been reported, I have not found it yet. Suriname is in South America and it is a Dutch territory.

Do you s'pose the Dutch will send a flotilla up to Peru to get Joran?
With British help from the Falklands? All on BP engineering?

I certainly don't want him tortured and killed, either. Or even raped. All I wish for him is a long prison sentence, and for him to feel the loss of freedom and everything else that goes along with being detained. I do hope the food is bad, though. I am glad he's off the streets of this planet and unable to murder anyone else. I certainly think he should be locked up for life, if not a life sentence in Peru, then a sentence for extortion immediately following his release from Peru's prison, and possibly a sentence for murdering Natalee, if her remains are ever recovered. Its good, IMO, he won't have the cushy lifestyle afforded to American prisoners, TV's, and other priviledges, in Peru. At last I hope not. JMO

I agree with you 100%

I think you're right. And since he has a private atty, I think his wait for a trial won't be as long as the other prisoners who have public defenders. The ratio of public defenders to prisoners is insane, I don't remember exactly but it was just unreal. That's why the long wait to go to trial. Am sure Joran has the best lawyer his moms money (or Aruba's) money can buy. Hiws trial will be expedited. I hope all attempts to get him back to Aruba or to the Netherlands are unsuccessful. He's gotten enough special treatment, IMO, 5 years of freedom, globetrotting and gambling, thumbing his nose at the law, spending money and making a mockery of the Holloway's grief. Time for him to pay the piper. jmo of course.

He thinks he's John Dillinger or something! Turns out to be a wimp.

I'm not sure who her contract is with but I have mostly seen her on CourtTV [now TruTV-InSession] which was bought or merged into CNN a couple of years ago, IIRC.

Jean C just reported on HLN that

- The coffee was still in the cups. [Nobody drank either one. None was dumped out during the struggle.]

- There was NO blood found on the alleged weapon, a tennis racquet.

Is Joran another just another John M Karr like in the JonBenet case?

Is it possible she threw out a comment like what ya gonna do kill me and throw me in the ocean like you did Natalie during an argument. He mentions an arguement, he does not mention about what but I could see this setting him off. (He does mention why they argue I just dont believe it). We'll never know...

I dont know that he's that calculating - he obviously loses control in
a rage. He never considered he was in Peru thousands of miles
away from any real protection so unless he had gone and hid in the
jungle (something this Scount aint going to do!), he is vulnerable and
he got caught because of that simple fact.

oh I agree Jwarner. I don't think he appears to be calculating, or self-serving. More the opposite. I wouldn't be surprised if he has episodes where he loses control or even awareness, there could be rage during the episodes, or maybe not. I thought he looked dazed and confused standing at the door. Of course the NG types like to insist he's a "Psychopath" (i.e. aware of what he's doing, antisocial personality), (and he could be), but schizophrenic or manic episodes, and a few other conditions, would have to be ruled out and we'd have to know a lot more about his behavior and history before we could come to the conclusion that he's sane, just psychopathic/antisocial personality. Of course with schizophrenia and mania it's pretty common for those to have their first onset when the person is in their early 20s. I would not be surprised to learn that he's experienced the onset of something like that.

Talking about the gestures he does with his hands like the interesting limp hand in the coffee video, standing there looking kind of dazed and helpless, not to mention the tapping or rapping on the door (could have been a staging kind of thing, pretending to be locked out, but then why not close the door first before doing it at least....and the tapping could have been something else, it looked weird and confused.).... in the Thailand video I thought I saw him do a strange involuntary-looking little hand flutter gesture at one point. I'm not sure, I would have to watch that again to have a closer look. I also noticed in videos when he talks he gestures mostly with his left hand, lots of movement and expression with his left hand while talking, you would think he's left-handed, but he appears to write with his right hand. Not important, just unusual little things, it's weird what catches your eye when you watch the videos. The hand flutter from the Thailand video, and the tapping on the door in this video made me wonder.

Speak of body language, I noticed that Stephany seemed to be almost stumbling slightly when she approached the table in the casino where he was sitting. I wondered what was making her kind of drag and almost stagger a bit like that, at first I thought, omg she was drugged or impaired somehow, but I guess she might have just been exhausted from being up all night

Have they changed her cause of death [again] ? I thought it was a broken neck yesterday. From a single karate chop. Or, no, from the tennis racquet. Or, one of the 25 other causes that have been reported as being from official reports.
