This will be a written decision, no doubt they want to make it as airtight as possible.

JeanC Live:

Just got information that - Decision by the judge (HCorpus) probably will not be today. Tomorrow or possibly on Friday.

Heard on HLN earlier the "hearing" for the other three involved is to take place this week...so maybe there will be something on that. Also stated that AVDS thinks JDS is bi-polar.

Regarding yesterday's JVS interview: "He also complained to the newspaper that he has to share his prison cellblock with a Colombian murderer, a corrupt Peruvian general and rats that creep into his cell through the toilet at night."

Since JVS is in a cellblock with a cadre of violent, nothing-to-lose murderers who also dislike rejection, I'm going to guess that these statements to the media were somewhat, uh, unwise?

Meanwhile, it's pretty curious why, if the FBI lured JVS, they didn't lure him to a U.S. territory where he could be handcuffed the moment he stepped on the soil.

He forgot to mention his new cellblock mate the Chinese businessman/triple murderer.

I wonder if Joran will be upset that he got a nicer blankie?

JeanC provided a credible source re info that ruling (HCorpus) likely not to come in today. Could not catch the source. But she did consider could be due to backlog in system.

Well darn. I was so hoping he was going to get a smack-down today.

JC stated on HLN that Peru has an 'insanity defense' so that may be what JVDS's lawyer(s) are thinking about.

IMO this guy will never walk free again.....too much clear incriminating evidence is showing HE and ONLY HE did the crime.

After he serves his time in a Dante's Inferno Peruvian Prison, (and this is only if he survives in it), the USA has next dibbs on the Casinova Snake wanna be a Lion.
Peru will never ever let this guy off the hook. They will definitely keep him until the
Dante's Inferno freezes over.

AIMO

Yikes! Accused of murdering his wife, his mother, his brother (and unclear - possibly, an attempted murder of 8 month pregnant sister-in-law).

Expect a request from The Clown and The Psycho for no television privileges in the common room while they're viewing together.

I am confused again on the photos....the one of the arm and the watch shows a dark (black) shirt with colors on it....I thought she did not have on a top? What am I missing here..........it even looks to me as if it might be a shot of JVS at a slant? Since I can't speak or read Spanish, lol, I have no idea...somebody help me out please!!!!!TIA

The brother's wife was shot in the belly and was in serious condition. They said by a miracle the other three children were saved by being in another room. All under 5 IIRC. One paranoid nutball coming up...apparently.

JeanC said his attorney will appeal.
JeanC: Insanity defense in Peru - similar to our US system.

From what we have learned of the Psych Evaluation, no worries. He's clearly not insane.

What?? You mean JVDS isn't reading his Bible? or did he put it over the rat hole in his toilet?

Let's hope the Judge can see through that 'insanity' crap that is being reported by him mother.
It may be just a ploy by his 'FBI sting" lawyers......LOL:loser:

The Telegraph, without confirmation, said that van der Sloot was lured to Peru by a man working for the FBI, a gambler named Elton Garcia.

The newspaper said the agency was trying to get van der Sloot away from Aruba to a country where he could be extradited to face extortion charges on the Holloway case.

http://abclocal.go.com/kabc/story?section=news/world_news&id=7514262

but we already know that peru does not have an extradition agreement with the usa....wouldnt the fbi have known that - c'mon...

Do we know if this "Elton Garcia" person actually exists?

Yes, EG exists. Believed played poker with SFR 3x or 4x.
Also, had read that EG was staying at same hotel as VDS.

Looks likes the "request" just might be honored.

According to the Peruvian Penal Code quoted in this article, 'insanity' is defined as "severe disturbance of consciousness or suffer alterations in perception, which severely affects their concept of reality, does not have the power to understand the nature of his act or criminal act to be determined according to this understanding."

If the accused is found to be 'insane', the court "will issue the relevant resolution urging the initiation of the security procedure".

To me, this sounds that even if he's found to be insane (which was not the findings of his psychological evaluation!), he would still be put away.

If the 'insane' definition is only partially true, then the court can reduce the sentence.
