NEW YORK (CBS/AP) "Joran van der Sloot has filed a complaint of misconduct against chief of detectives Col. Miguel Canlla and other officials involved in his murder investigation, according to reports.

According to newspaper El Comercio, the Dutch national claims his arrest in Chile for the murder of Stephany Flores was executed without a proper warrant. He also states in the complaint that he was not given an official translator, which caused confusion.

"All this with the intention of pressuring me to accuse me of homicide," van der Sloot said in a document obtained by Peruvian television news program "24 Hours.""

Is this the lawyer who wants off the case (because of death threats to him and his family) encouraging him to do this or is Joran coming up with this stuff on his own? I can't imagine that lawyer wanting to cause this kind of commotion over a punk like Joran.

Maybe JVDS did learn a thing or too about the law from his father but I don't think any of it is going to help him...but rather hurt him in the long run. He has to be upsetting a lot of people in not only Peru but now Chile with this nonsense.

ok, I now feel bad for my hostile thoughts regarding Joran's mother. idk if I ever posted them (probably) but I for sure thought them ...

guess I was looking for the easiest answer for how a human being can become such a monster - need to always remind myself not to judge so quickly in the future

and while I feel bad for Anita, I loathe Joran even more now after seeing those pictures of Steph - that just about tore me up and I didn't even know her - I can't imagine her poor family having to see those pics

how can one human being have so much rage for a total stranger?

Poor little Joran. Everyone is so unfair to him. Everyone is so mean to him. He is so confused and doesn't understand what is happening. They took advantage of him and made him give a false confession. He really didn't do anything at all. He'll tell us later. Read dripping with sarcasm.

In the very beginning he was interviewed and people complained he wanted 15 minutes of fame, lol.
Then he apparently retracted some statement (going by overloaded memory here) and he became questionable again. One article reports him as having met Joran 2 weeks prior at the casinos, gambling together. If he had money, Joran was likely hanging onto him like a dirty shirt.
