CNN video

In Session's Jean Casarez questioned the Dutch reporter who interviewed Joran van der Sloot in prison.

I noticed the heading under that video says that JC interviewed the Dutch reporter. Van De Heuvel in June. And he was talking about the first interview and what Joran said then. So there was an interview done in June, we already knew about that but when was this interview done? Has anyone come across anything that states when Van De Heuvel went back to Peru with a film crew for a second interview? It can't be at the same time because Joran's hair wouldn't have grown out that much in less than a month.

And there is a book about Joran to be published, written by Van De Heuvel. Release date of October 19th with pictures of Joran in Castro Castro. So this Van de Heuvel guy is Joran's personal reporter/biographer, set up by his mother, and they are all going to getting rich off the money from the two interviews and the book, complete with pictures?

Joy Behar had an interesting segment last night with Jean Casaez, Buzz Von Ornsteiner (forensic psychologist) and Joe Tacopina about JVS and his latest interview. It seems that Von Ornsteiner and (especially) Tacopina still believe he's a victim of circumstance.

I missed the program, but the following link contains the transcript:

Thanks for highlighting that this video of JC was done in June.

That explains the discrepancy I noted where in this video, Van de Heuvel states his interview with Joran was conducted in Joran's cell, whereas his recent TV interview was obviously conducted in a conference room, as shows in the video clip on the de Telegraaf website!!

Yes, I remember that particular clip from JC back in June. She was still in Peru and (IIRC) she's standing in front of some government building.

Yup, the dollars are going to be rolling in. I guess JVS's career of murder and lying is able to provide for the family better than Paulus ever could. Ain't life grand?

Not really imho. It's their system and they have every legal right to it.
It is part of what being sovereign means in the global system of sovereign
communities & nations. When you step onto another person's sovereign soil you are agreeing to that, or you should not go there to begin with!
Peru did not invite Joran to come with diplomatic immunity.

Look at this now from Stephany's family's perspective! They must be
beside themselves. God grant them the grace & strength to survive this! My heart
bleeds for them.

bbm

I understand that :) just wondering why they simply don't go with 5 Judges in the first place. Maybe the ruling is limited to 3 Judges and not 4 or 5? Certainly would be more expeditious to have 5 sit in the first place...and less stressful for me!:D

Thanks for that link suzihawk. After reading the transcript, the lightbulb went off in my head as to why Joran was willing to talk about the extortion. He was setting up his defence for the next trial. He is admitting to accepting the money because he has to but he's trying to set it up as him being approached and basically "framed" by the FBI and the Hollaways. They were throwing money at him you know...and he's not right in the head and has a terrible gambling addiction...what else was he supposed to do?

Unbelievable...this guy is a real piece of work. This might explain why I've only been able to find the extortion part of the interview in English. That was just for U.S. consumption I suppose. Unless the network that is airing the special on Friday night paid top dollar for the whole English interview. At what point is he going to come right out and say that Stephany's murder is all Beth Hollaway's fault? Like I've said at the beginning of Stephany's case, I never followed Natalee's case but as an outsider just catching on to what went on all those years, it seems to me that he, his mother and his American lawyer are pretty much putting it out there if you read between the lines.

Not according to John Kelly in the Today show video posted earlier. Meredith specifically brought up that Joran is claiming the Hollaways initiated the exchange of emails. Kelly says "not even close" joran contacted Kelly directly in a "pathetic, desperate way, asking for money, demanding money..."
Kelly has 15 emails and 3 1/2 hrs of audio and video tape. It's all documented.

Thanks again Kamille for posting that you tube video.

That kid makes me sick. Did you notice the part where he goes on to admit that he has compulsive behavior and reacts immediately not thinking about the consequences!! And then he says he "feels really bad that the Flores family had to lose their daughter!!!

The evidence is obviously stacked against him for the murder. I'm thinking that his plan might in fact be to confess to the murder of Stefaney because he caught her looking at his computer and couldn't control his anger.

A 5yr or less sentence.

Well yes but you just know that Joran and his legal defence team are going to say that they did contact him first...and of course he has no record of it... but they were all setting him up so they removed any part that would indicate their initial contact from the e-mails and audio and video tape. It's a conspiracy dontcha know....

Yes the part about him feeling bad that the Flores' "had" to lose their daughter really stuck out to me too jilly. That's just another thing that makes me believe that he blames everything on BH and in turn I suppose NH.

His plan was to lie about everything first. Corrupt police chasing him and Stephany and crazy men lying in wait in his hotel room and all that. And then they hit him with the video tape from the hotel and he knew his goose was cooked. So he took the advice of the second lawyer, that he apparently requested after choosing not to speak on the first day when he had the public defender there with him, and tried to lessen his culpability by claiming that he committed the crime in an act of rage. This rage of course being brought on by the actions of the victim so it wasn't really his fault. And his private lawyer, the one he is suing now, is probably the one who told him what to do in the face of all that evidence to lessen his sentence.

But then Mom found Mr Altez and with the right amount of money being thrown at him, he is willing to risk his family and his reputation trying to defend the indefendable with a lot of legal hocus pocus and maybe a few bribes thrown in for good measure IMO. Just the way the VDS's seem to like it apparently.

Why else would he be whining in that interview now about not being able to contact his mother after his arrest. Of course he was scared and likely told almost the whole truth on that occasion if you ask me. I think that confession is as close to the truth as anyone is ever going to get out of Joran. And it was probably because he was scared for his own life at that point.

More from reporter JVH about his interview with JVS. "Man with two faces." JVH says that no money changed hands for the interview. Yep, I'll say it straight out - I don't belive that.

Note: Dateline is having a special report "Joran Van der Sloot Behind Bars" Friday at 10p on NBC.

I don't believe that either. And certainly Dutch TV did not share for nothing....But you know what, if any of the networks want to pay for his lies, let them. It will just show us the real idiots.

No. I wouldn't think that the reporter would walk into Castro Castro and handed over a suitcase of money to joran. Geez Louise! He must think that we're all stupid!

I'm not liking this reporter.

You could well be right, Kamille. His story of 'how' he killed her adds up, but I don't believe the 'why' for a second. Not even close IMO. And since there will probably not be any physical evidence to show why, combined with his professional lying ability, we will most likely never really know. Unless...... the computer has the clues.

Ive picked up on this several times also - had to lose?

Talk about ego centric sociopathic!

You hit the nail on the head. I say send him to Gitmo!

True. But while I've been salivating for news, I don't want JVS or his mother to profit one more dime for his murders. It quite literally makes me sick to my stomach.
