Maybe it's connected to the corruption case at the NYPD. Maybe Burke was in a corner. IDK. Inbox me if you'd like to discuss it further.

What is interesting to me regarding Pak and Brewer and their relationship with the criminal justice system is the fact that both were clearly violating a number of State and Federal laws on the night Shannan died, yet neither has had any criminal charges laid against them.

On the other hand, on Long Island that night, I am sure a number of individuals were charged with traffic offenses such speeding and improper turns and faced much greater penalties than JB and MP have.

I am very aware of the need for strict traffic enforcement to protect the public, however to me the gravity of wrongdoing that occured in Oak Beach seems to million times more serious than those traffic violations.

If there is anybody who is involved in the criminal justice system who follows this forum, I would love to hear why no charges have been laid, even misdemeanor ones.

Hawk - Do you happen to have any pictures of these GPS boxes? I'm curious as to who the SIM cards point back to or are they OTC burner cards.

I second this.

Leanne, basically, says she slept with Burke because she wanted a get out of jail free card and, literally, said this on live TV.

I think Chris Loebb was directed by his dealer to break in Burke's police car (belongs to Suffolk) and steal his gun belt (belongs to Suffolk), ammo (belongs to Suffolk) and personal bags to feed his heroin addiction.

If Burke didn't know who did it, they could have used that gun or that ammunition in a homicide...and any cop can tell you if he didn't catch it early enough--his job would have been toast (right then and there) and it could have implicated him in homicides for real, for real.

That was a setup. It was too obvious.

Unfortunately, what Burke did was not okay. Civil rights violation's are not okay. He knew it wasn't okay, but I also know he was intentionally provoked by Chris.

I don't know how to say this delicately...You don't do that. Ever.

You don't do that to the police--Any police, especially the chief.

I grew up understanding that you do something like that, expect the police to lose their minds. If I did that, I would expect that I needed to be really sure nobody would figure out that I did it or I could expect to get my *advertiser censored* kicked. I am on the right side of the law and I can tell you, what Chris did was jaw droppingly stupid.

Heroin addict (or a coworker of Burke's) you want to see a cop lose it? Do what Chris did.

Unfortunately, that was the plan. I'm sure Chris was intending to do something worse with his gun, ammo and personal items. I think Burke knew this. Unfortunately, Burke lost his temper and the feds took him down.

If James Burke is the big bad wolf like you suggest, Suffolk has no more reason to stall any investigation.

If James Burke was the golden ticket, and the root of all evil = James Burke, going to federal prison would have solved this case and freed poor little oppressed Suffolk County...but that did nothing to bring any resolution to the case.

Unfortunately, the worst I see here is them not understanding the insurance fraud going on and maybe sending some of the girls in the flop house orbit not understanding that they, maybe, were running a rehab scam.

Unwitting accomplices, maybe...but serial killers...nah. Direct liability? Nah.

Then Dormer gets taken out and gets made out to be a fool on his last year as the commissioner? The timing is too perfect. h
Suffolk might have had their problems, but this ex-NYPD brothel (10 year long scandal) takes the cake for corruption.

BTW, snaps for NYPD out there kicking *advertiser censored* and taking names, today.

Burke could have not concealed his "serial murdering" from an entire department. One of those cops would have blown the whistle.

Still looking at Brewer, Pak and unfortunately Paz. I think I'd be interested to know what Burke has to say about it (even off the record).
He might be able to save face. He has a better shot at redemption now.

I believe in the police getting their stuff straight. I hope the NYPD clears up this mess and I hope Suffolk and NYPD crack down on this BS and kick some *** and take some names.

I believe the police are still mostly inherently good. It's the bad cops that embarrass and make a mockery of the badge.

They have a better shot at cleaning up their act that Chris "Whoopsie-I-Accidentally-Broke-Into-a-Government-Vehicle-Wow-I-Had-No-Idea-That-Gun-Belt-Bag-and-Ammo-belonged-to-the-Chief-Why-Are-You-So-Mad-At-Me-It's-Not-Like-The-Plate-Said-GVT-On-It-My-Bad" Loeb.

I call , they were setting the chief up.

At the end of the day Cui Bono?

BREWER.

2 MILLION DOLLARS WORTH in 3 years OF CUI BONO.

I'm late to the party on this post... but playing cards are traditionally used at parties to cut up lines of snortables. New party, new deck. Nobody wants to dive into a pile of whatever with dirty playing cards.

You must mean credit cards...Nobody chops lines of cocaine with playing cards. They aren't sturdy enough.

Playing cards are Paz's receipt system.

They were speaking in code and wary of surveillance.

All Pak had to say to get Burke to drop it and let him go was "playing cards".

Let's entertain your theory, did they get fresh snorty straws at McDonald's and actually launder the dirty money (with detergent) everytime they rolled a dollar bill up shoved it up their nose and binged on cocaine in the name of being the world's first most sanitary illegal drug users?

Nope. That isn't how this worked, unfortunately.

I believe that some killers, build up such a sense of guilt and remorse in a part of their mind, that they want to be caught and stopped.

...Not if they get paid to do it.

"Trace the SOB back to when the sperm swam up to canal to meet the mother's egg and I think you will have a story unmatched by not many others."

Speaking of Peaches, did any one run comparative DNA between the toddler and Brewer?

The one thing that does not match here: is the child.

Mark, one can speculate in the Shannan Gilbert case about different POI's and relationships to other cases and other criminals in the area. However until we see LE and the media taking leading roles in the investigation, as we have seen, nothing has happens. The media are needed to make the citizens of Long Island and the local politicians aware what progress or lack of progress has been made.

Are County leaders Bellone and Sini trying to make progress in solving this case or are they part of the problem (by fighting the release of the 911 tapes for years)? What about the New York state elected officials that represent Suffolk County, do they know what is going on? Or even the Congressional representatives where are they? With so many politicians speaking about law and order issues, why is not this one discussed openly?

I hope there is at least one honest and ethical politician in the area who can lead this case.
Should we start a letter writing campaign or what?

FBI is on this case since 2015, if they won't do it the feds will. When they come back...wherever they are. I feel so forlorn with no FBI press releases since the shutdown.

I think we might not need the 911 tape.

I pulled everyone's background myself. If they did this they would see the things I see connected to the girls and the suspects.

Like 2 missing kids and a baby momma of one suspect, 2 million in real estate purchases that begin 29 days after Shannan disappears and goes on for 3 years ending in May 2013. Leaving Oak Beach one month prior to the bodies being found on Ocean Parkway. A dead baby that links to a dead mommy that was dismembered.

Brewer is super suss.

Why would SCPD be covering for him?

We can write letters if you want but I think getting the FBI to sort it out is a better method of encoraging it to move along. If grieving families helped (or letters) it would have been sorted out a long time ago.

I got a little confused thinking people were typing PAK and the typo was PAZ. Can someone DM me and fill me in a bit on this person. Sorry a bit off topic. Edited: Just found this information

VERY SIMPLE, MON AMI: If Brewer has something on them ( "if the truth comes out there are going to be a lot of cops with pie on their face) he could be forced to give them damaging information on the police........at least that is my best guess. It wouldn't surprise me if Brewer spends most of his time out of NYS where nosy reporters can't easily find him. SCPD has been known to do this when it suits them to hide information.

PAK, is Michael Pak, Shannan Gilbert's driver and the last verified to see her alive.
PAZ, is Ludwig Paz, retired NYC Police Officer, arrested for operating a multi-million dollar prostitution empire.
The Prostitution Empire and the Former N.Y.P.D. Detective, Always One Step Ahead of the Law

Thought by some Sleuthers here to be involved with Joseph Brewer, Michael Pak and Shannan Gilbert in a criminal way at the time of Shannan's death.

Only by way of the playing card receipt system and the ability to obstruct the actions of Burke and SCPD.

I don't like implicating police or ex police in this.

Brewer said "Egg". It was verbatim stated as "Egg"--Not pie. I've listened to this book about 10 times in the past week.

Now I am onto the "Anatomy of Motive".

Brewer also said, "I tried to help her up until her last moments" meaning he had to be with her until her "last moments".

Brewer is so suspect.

I'm sorry, even ex-Cops "running a brothel" does not mean you get a free pass to kill escorts. Unless...he acted under a directive, now we are back to the racket angle. This case is frustrating.

I swear to you if he got in an interrogation room with the feds and pulled half of what he pulled with Kolker he would be under arrest.

Does Kolker have the actual audio of this interview with Brewer?

Egg v. Pie. Are you trying to gaslight me? Do you think I don't know the difference between 'egg' and 'pie[' used in that context? Egg is what one expects to hear/read in that context, not pie. Had he said EGG I w9uldn't have confused it. I know what I read and of course I can go back and read it again? You 'heard' the book 10X. And so I guess there is an audio book out there?

No.

No. I didn't know there was a difference. Please describe the difference between having egg on one's face vs. pie?

Go back and read it again, by all means.

You 'heard' the book 10X. And so I guess there is an audio book out there?

Yes.

Page 35, Lost Girls, Brewer, as quoted by the author says: "..... but at the end of this, the police are going to have a lot of pie on their face." Now that is not to say you didn't hear egg in an audio book.

Another quote on the same page: " But there is a lot out there I know, I don't want to say this because a lot of them are my friends...."

Brewer, also said: "Dude, there you don't know the truth, something really big. I do have a big chit on that, but i have to hold it back.'

I just wonder who it is that Brewer can cash that 'chit' with?

I just searched for "egg" and "pie"
on my Kindle version.
There are ZERO egg words in the entire book,
and ONE Pie word.

@LadyGaga @hawkshaw He was right, it was pie. I was transfixed on the word 'crack'.

"Maybe it was given to me because I wouldn't crack." -- Joseph Brewer

@WINDSOR @hawkshaw @LadyGaga

When asked why Shannan called the police:

[Loudest laugh, yet] "I'm sorry to laugh, that was, like, the easiest. You know, It's so funny! Sometimes the most obvious answer is the easiest to figure out. Like, that is the question I get more than any and that is the most easy to figure out. [Pause]...No, I'm sorry, I'm gonna take that back. The easiest one is: I must have scared her. I must have threatened her, you know? Obviously that's--number one choice. But that is far from--I was ready to help her! And you know what, dude? If they ever release that 911 call, I know my voice is in the background...and I know I am the only voice of reason, and I know the police know that. I would never harm a soul. If you actually read through, you can put it together why she ran crazy into the night..."

Wait...Read through what? The 911 transcript? Is he referring to the transcript of the tape? Did he have a copy of it?

Who was the little computer nerd with the Carney Construction Co (the kinky internet boy mob these guys started)? Could he have hacked in and destroyed the tape?

@hawkshaw -- You know the guy I am talking about?

I have to believe Brewer heard the tape because he mentions his voice is on it. If a guy like Brewer could hear it then why not the rest of the world?

Yes, I heard of Carny and I forget what it is all about. Refresh my memory.
