Poll: Why did Garrido bring Jaycee to the PO office?

kbl, the parole office has nothing to do with the county that Antioch is in. Same with Concord. It is a STATE agency. If they sue CDCR, it will not affect Contra Costa County directly and it won't be just the Parole Office in CCC that is affected. Yes, both CDCR and CCC deserve to be sued.

It's important to remember to keep the facts IN ORDER, even minor details. It helps to research and be informed before posting. In other words, don't post "definites" as we know of nothing that is an absolute definite in this case without having been there. This forum is used and observed by more than just us. I would hate to see all the hard work that everyone has done be for nothing because of one false detail.

Here are my ideas which are probably already been stated.
1. Jaycee was never allowed to be alone, ever. Since he had to bring his wife he had to bring Jaycee too or lock her up and how would that look in front of the two girls.
2. The girls on their previous trip mentioned an older sister didn't they so he had to bring that older sister. (however maybe I have that timeline wrong.
3. He had to bring a mom for the two girls because obviously his wife Nancy did not look the part.
4. He has an oversized ego and thought he would get away with it.

It is obvious that he coached them all on what to say. He had prepared several stories. When he brought Jaycee to be the girls mother the girls went along with it even though they thought Nancy was their mom.

The request for a lawyer, the runaway wife, all of it stories he made. He made so many stories, that he couldn't keep them straight. Remember on the first visit he said they were his brothers girls, his nieces, a brother he didn't know where he lived but managed to get hold of the girls.

Then when the parole person showed up the night before none of the girls including Jaycee were in sight. Just him Nancy and his mom.

And in the end he folded. So I think he took Jaycee because he couldn't leave her at home alone and needed her there to be the mom to the girls, which ironically she is.

Interesting thoughts jazerelle, but how do you explain Garrido telling a different story than Jaycee was telling right off the bat? He didn't switch stories part way through, he immediately told the PO that they were all three sisters, the daughters of his brother while Jaycee said that she was the girls' mother.

Apparently, according to everyone around him for the prior 3 months or so, he was going bonkers, rambling on, singing in the middle of a conversation, not making sense, etc. I think it's highly possible that PG just stepped on his own you know what, and the girls all then had to shoot from the hip to try to make sense of things. JMO

He knew when the time came he would be arrested and spend the rest of his life in prison but would cure sex offenders in prison because Jaycee would help tell his story. I think he realized that the would find out no matter what he said at that point anyway.

So you think he slipped up (because he was losing it), coached the girls on one story, but forgot and stuck to his original himself? Then perhaps the PO confronted the women and they were like "Oh ." Works for me Sounds like he was ready to give it up at that point anyway, or almost ready, since he'd dropped off his manifesto and given away his god box.

The thing about lying is you have to remember what you said. He said they were his nieces but didn't know where his brother lived. He made up a script for Jaycee to follow and she did. Only thing is he gave in. Just like he gave in when he raped that 24 year old. It didn't take much for him to finally confess to raping her. He always folds when a strong presence confronts him. He brought Jaycee to play the part of mother (ironic since she is their mother) to be a good front for him to show he was a "great man" and good with the kids.

All planned ahead. Fortunately all his efforts failed.

As the parole agent was on the phone with the officer, he observed that Garrido was
accompanied by his wife and three young girls. After completing his conversation with the
officer, Garrido’s parole agent wisely isolated the females–including Garrido’s wife–to identify
them. The oldest of the three young females identified herself as Alyssa, the second oldest as
Angel, and the youngest as Starlet. During further questioning, Alyssa advised that she was
the girls’ mother. The parole agent believed that Alyssa looked too young to be the mother and
asked her age. Alyssa said that she was 29 years old, laughingly explaining that she often gets
that comment and that people believe she is the girls’ sister.
As the parole agent continued his questioning, Alyssa and Garrido’s wife became defensive
and agitated, wanting to know why the parole agent was interrogating them. The parole agent
explained that he was investigating Garrido’s visit to UC Berkeley with the two young girls.
Alyssa said she was aware that Garrido had taken the girls to UC Berkeley and that he was a
sex offender who was on parole for kidnapping and raping a woman. She added that Garrido
was a changed man and a great person who was good with her kids. Alyssa subsequently stated
that she didn’t want to provide any additional information and that she might need a lawyer.
The parole agent then directed Garrido to a room and asked him to explain the relationship of
the three young girls. Garrido thought for a moment and responded that they were all sisters
and that the father was his brother who lived nearby in Oakley, California. Garrido stated that
the parents were divorced, the girls were living with



Is this a little confusing to anyone else but me? First it says Garrido was immediatley isolated from the females. Then it says later he was moved to another room. Why would they move him to another room if it had already been done? Also, I can't tell from this report if Nancy was also isolated from Jaycee and the girls or not. Can you?

I did find the wording confusing, at first, in that I thought they meant they isolated them all separately, meaning they were each alone in a room. Yes it is confusing. That's what I thought the first time I read it, now, I'm not so sure, it sounds more like they were each in different rooms. ? I get the waiting room part though, that makes more sense now.

Anyway, when I went back and read this synopsis of what transpired that day and the day before, what nailed Garrido's butt, was the fact that the Berkeley cop heard the kids call him daddy. And that's what she was portraying to the PO when he was on the phone with her. Garrido had told the PO the day before, they were his nieces, so actually it all boils down to getting caught in a lie because of what came from the mouths of babes!
