At this point in time it is ONLY about connecting dots. This is a Board that encourages discussion on a host of matters, ergo: WEBSLEUTHS. That is what this is about.

Yes, Oak Beach is pretty much a closed community where one must pass muster to get into the community. So how did the 2000 buyer manage to get into Oak Beach? I guess he got in like the Gilgo Beach killer(s) managed to get in and dump up to 5 bodies ( are there more ) without anyone noticing. Or maybe the killer(s) was there all that time keeping on eye on things making sure that no one found anything.

But I think we will have to give SCPD some leeway as they are now involved in finding the person(s) who shot Gary Melius. AND guess who jumped into the Melius case just as he jumped into GILGO - uninvited other than to control the 'investigation' and make sure certain people didn't get hurt.

Note* Please see today's Newsday's Editorial (2/20/15) and see what I am talking about.
 
BTW/FYI !!! The connection of the drug dealer/pornographer/Oak Beach owner was NOT discovered by me. It was discovered by a person that no longer submits messages to this Board other than an occasional visit, I suspect. He was probably one of the most informed posters to ever post on this Board. I think he was driven away by the same people that would like to see me GONE.
 
The Oheka Castle incident is a very curious thing... and loaded with sketchy/political connections... I agree that it's amazing what money can buy.

Owner of Oheka Castle Announces $100K Reward for Shooting Suspect

Gary Melius announced the reward in a six-minute video he released to news organizations on Tuesday. Melius was shot a year ago Tuesday outside the elegant hotel and banquet hall in Huntington.
 
Came across this while looking for something completely unrelated to this case (found it mildly interesting given the theories floated that there could be a Port Authority/transit link and killer could either be an officer or impersonating one)- NJ transit busses run to Port Authority, trains to Penn station. This may have already been posted and discussed, it's hard to keep up.

updated- his linkedin acct says Bus Supervisor so that would make his place of work Port Authority.
 
I'll throw out a few wild *advertiser censored* guesses as to who we might be looking for, not a profile just some thoughts.

White male

Currently 50+ years of age.

From LI, probably raised there.

Underachiever from an otherwise successful family.

Long time customer of prostitutes and very familiar with that industry.

Alcohol, but no drugs for this guy.

Marriage status unknown, my guess is he wasn't during the period of 07-2010.

Financially stable but frugal.

History of and treatment for psychological issues.

The mistakes he made are in the risk's he took, but evidently those risk's were calculated enough as to not leave a clear trail back to him. Could be luck or could be knowledge of just how far to push it and not get caught.

He's now laying low, possibly stopped or retired from killing. However, as a great mind on the subject once said, The murder is not over when the body dies its over when the killer stops deriving satisfaction from the killing.

So maybe we'll hear from him again or maybe we won't.

Chances of resolution - Low.
 
I honestly think that there's probably some over-lap of killing-dumping grounds thing going on...multiple ppl killing people and using similar geographic areas of dumping
 
The bars are crowded in NYC on Thursdays. Its payday for alot of workers. The killer is busy making phone calls or intercepting women on Thursdays and Sundays. Maybe the killer gets paid on Thursdays and has off of work on Sundays. Or is off on Sundays and Mondays. Its Just a thought.
 
Not a bad thought deedee21. Many restaurants (or at least the smaller and/or higher-end ones) are traditionally closed on Mondays. Some close after Sunday brunch until Tuesdays. Live music venues both large and small and stage houses are also traditionally closed (or "dark") Mondays, and those that are closed typically don't have Sunday evening shows either.

Random thought. I'm not even sure if I truly believe its a cab driver. But I've thought about it often.
Anyways, after getting off the train in Saint Paul last week. I realize just how many random cab drivers offered me a ride. It would just be to easy all most.
And no one is gonna notice a woman getting into a cab. It happens a million times a days.
 
Look, I never said the guy did it. And, yes, he has been promoted regularly even after it was substantiated he had sex with a known prostitute, drug addict/dealer, and thief in his police car. Of course he denied that when questioned by IAB. But it was substantiated by his own Department.

There is another rumor going around, unsubstantiated, at best that he was supposedly caught in Brooklyn soliciting a prostitute in a NYPD?DA sting operation back in the time of 2003-04. Other law enforcement agencies have failed to substantiate that claim. It is not that people haven't been trying to prove that rumor being true.

I do know that at least a year before a body was found at Gilgo Beach a SCPD detective tried to get me to go to the same Holiday Inn where at least two of the gals were last seen. It was supposed to be a PI job for me to dish the dirt on a gal that was allegedly causing a problem for that detective. He was able to provide me with a phone number and who I should call and what steps I had to take before I met this gal and make an arrangement with her. In other words, at least one member of the SCPD knew what the heck was going on at The Holiday Inn.

Maybe it was a legitimate request, or maybe it wasn't. Maybe it was just a way to get me into the place so the DA could swoop down and arrest me and plaster my name and picture all over the newspapers - Ex-NYPD detective busted for soliciting a prostitute. Or keep my mouth shut of what I have been doing and what I am doing now.

One thing I do know is if I was charged with investigating these murders and had my way that guy would be at the top of my list until such time I could eliminate him as a suspect.

Trust me I know a lot about what they do in Suffolk County and it all tends to point to the cops are somehow involved in the sex hi-jinks that go on in SC.

I am not suggesting for a minute he is the killer as it is a one in several million chance that he is. There are a lot of nut jobs out there capable of doing this. All I know and believe is there have been plenty of wild sex parties going on in that area and if you have such parties the police, sooner or later will be involved to the extent they are participants.
 
I can only tell you what I heard and believe to be true. I knew this SCPD cop and his friend. The cop was well known as a guy that spent most of his time in strip clubs - both on and off duty. He was with a civilian friend that I also know when the cop gets a call from another cop friend who I don't know, but know of. The other cop tells 'my' cop to start rounding up the girls and bring them to a party. My friend tells me a certain well known person will be there.

Cops going to Strip Clubs to bring gals to cop parties ? If these gals work at Strip Clubs and do lap dances then how many of them do you think are prostitutes?
 
I have pretty much been of the opinion since the beginning this case that some people involved with investigating this case are hiding something.

The DA jumped right in to the case when he should have stayed on the sidelines until the cops brought a case to him to prosecute.

The DA gets into a pizzing match with the police commissioner.

The PC doing the You-Tube with Arrow Security.

The 911 Tape not being released or even spoken about.

The detective writing the letter to Newsday about the tape.

The idea Brewer seems to have been eliminated as a suspect so early into the investigation.

The Jimmy Bisset rumor that just happened to percolate all over the papers.

Spota handpicking the new Chief of Detectives that replaced Burke at the DA office. Now both Burke and the new Chief of Detectives are running the case.

The sudden retirement of Lt.Fitzpatrick. This happens after Lt. Fitzpatrick was brought back to Homicide after the Lucero incident. He retires shortly after being assigned to the Oheka Castle case.
 
Hey this is excellent sleuthing! I think you're onto something! This makes total sense in terms of timing - what jobs pay on thursdays and give people weekends/mondays off?

I watched a seven pt. interview with Richard Dormer on Get Arrow Security. You can see it on youtube. He explained why he believes one killer is responsible for all ten victims on OP. This would mean the killer started killing in the nineties. I guess he could be in his fourties or fifties. Watch the show if you have not seen it.
 
I 'Hi-Jacked' this thread with the honest belief the murders might have something to do with the corrupt political climate in Suffolk County. The readers come and go with their own theories.

You want a profile of the killer? Maybe this is more relevant and to your liking

MW - 20 -80 years of age.
MW because the area is occupied by mostly whites. A black man would stand out.
20-80 - old enough to kill and still young enough to move a body.

Probably lives in the area all year or a seasonal resident.
Knows the lay of the land and knows when it is safe to dump a body.

Could be a female.

A person that you would never believe capable of doing the crimes.

Single living alone. Blends into the community.

Hates woman. Really hates prostitutes.

May be a sex trafficker.

Might be nearer to 29 -34ish or maybe in the 50's
