I just found something on twitter. It's a tweet from CMJA about Juan and his book.https://t.co/UQsc0ByEY8 They say she had someone post this comment: "A reality check is in order as Juan begins peddling his book making appearances & patting himself on the back 4 a job well done?" Sure sounds like something she would say.

If I could put someone away like JA () for the rest of her life, I would pat myself on the back 4 a job well done anyday.

Ch 11
JM is dealing with the forged letters. He suspects they are forged and wants to research them before he hires a handwriting expert. He asks T family for old letters without much success. He learns Deanna Reid saved every letter Travis sent her while she was on her mission in Costa Rica in 2001. He calls Deanna, who is living in Riverside, CA.
While on the phone with her JM says Deanna tells him that a couple of weeks prior two females knocked on her door unannounced. They didn't disclose they were on Jodi's defense team...only that they were "involved" in the Arias case and wanted to speak to her. They showed her one of the ten forged letters. The letter had disparaging remarks in it about Deanna. Despite initially being hurt Deanna read carefully and noticed word choices and phrases Travis would never use. The writing itself resembled Travis but she felt it was a forgery.

She told JM he could use the letters from Travis to compare. JM hung up and minutes later was in his car driving the five hours to Riverside to get the letters. He didn't want them to be lost in the mail.

He got to Deanna's home (she was living with her parents) and said she was warm and welcoming and sincere "the opposite of Arias! She escorted him to the breakfast table and through the sliding glass door he sees an older black pug outside. Deanna lets Napoleon in to meet JM.

I have a Colt 25 auto and believe me you can shoot with one hand easily with very little if any kick back. When I was younger I could pull the slide back easily, as I get older it is harder for me to pull the slide back but I can still shoot with accuracy and it does not kick back. That is why I wanted it. My DH had a 44mag and a 9mm and both were difficult for me to shoot with any accuracy. The guns were heavier and kicked back a lot. The 25 was perfect but long shots were difficult because of the short barrel. It is the perfect personal weapon for a lady. Fits nicely in any purse and it's not too heavy. I have had a concealed carry ever since my husband passed away.

I agree that she could have easily had the gun and shoot with 1 hand while having the camera and filming in the other at the same time. Especially with the .25 caliber which is a relatively smaller caliber weapon.

Also JMO and going from memory here so hope I remember the pics right.
I don't want to bring up the shot first/shot last thing again because everyone has their own opinions on this which is fine but I will say that the way the camera hit the floor and took a pic of the ceiling area near the shower had me thinking that the gun jammed on that 1st shot and she may have purposely thrown the camera down while she tried to figure out what was happening to the gun and needed 2 hands. At some point giving up on it and then grabbing the knife.

No matter which order of the shot I do agree what JM is saying about her using the camera much more than I had thought and maybe was trying to film or take pictures of the whole thing. Because we see other pictures where she is dragging him back so she had to go get the camera during the actual killing from the first spot it was near the shower area and we see the picture of the ceiling area.
So it does beg the question whether she had it in her hands most all through the killing.

Thanks to everyone who have provided us snippets of Juans book. I don't plan on getting it for awhile yet so this is really great to be able to read about it. Thanks everyone.

It occurs to me that if Jodi was holding the camera and using a weapon at the same time, TA must have been incapacitated somehow and already. If he came after her, she would have dropped the camera, right? She can only do all that if her victim is powerless, no?

Does anyone remember the photo that showed two dots on TA's body and it was thought they were taser marks? It was suggested, here on WS, that the felon tasered him first and went on to murder. I also remember talk of someone owning a taser? The autopsy never did explain those two marks, reminded me of a snake bite.

The taser could have disappeared like the knife, gun and journals.

i do agree the gas cans proved premeditation, another thing about them, at least in my opinion, was that when the whole thing came up we got to see jodi make up stories on the fly to explain things (she took it back, she got change and no reciept). it showed how manipulative, quick on her feet with lying, and calm she was. it showed me that everything she said was BS. pure evil.

Nurmi saying defense won this trial twice not once. He says it's not a state victory #localnews #jodiarias

Maybe because I've tried to avoid imagining the murder itself, or because JM wasn't explicit at trial, dunno, but for me this is new:

JM believes the killer continued holding the camera the entire time she slaughtered him, up until the time she had to drop it to use both hands to drag him back to the bathroom.

Sickening feeling- she was trying to film the murder itself?

The thought is horrific and chilling to the bone! If she did try to film it.. or succeeded.. I'm glad they didn't find it. I can't even imagine.

Of course Nurmi had to pipe up to try and get some attention, Juan's book is rated 4.5 stars on Amazon.

I couldn't agree more. JM is too thorough, too meticulous, too exacting, and too conservative in his assertions, though, for me to doubt his opinion that she didn't drop the camera until after she slit his throat.

The only other conclusion I can reach other than she meant to record his death is that she had secured the camera to herself somehow- duct tape? in anticipation of wielding the knife seconds after taking the last photo of him in the shower, and didn't want the camera to fall accidentally and risk having him move from the perfect position for her to strike.

BBM: Yeah, her "morbid curiosity" now makes a lot more sense. *shivers*

Reminds me of the back and forth between JM and JA, when she was on the stand, about whether she and TA attempted to take a video but she couldn't remember which camera was used - her's or TA's. She claimed she used her camera but couldn't remember when she took it to the car with her other luggage. I was really confused by that exchange and to me this sheds some light on that subject.

It's also was 5th on the Best Seller's list. How many copies did Nurmi sell? maybe 100? Sour grapes!

The very first call she made after slaughtering Travis was to Matt. Wasn't sure if I remembered that correctly, but it was so.

How curious. She's many hours overdue to meet up with Ryan but its Matt she speaks with first.....

Now how did she do this when she had no visitors or phone or mail? :jail:

It is a victory for TA's Family, Friends, JA, his team, the state and the citizens because the felon did not get away with murder, no one believed her, and she will never see freedom again... E V E R. Life is her enemy now :happydance:

Although they will never admit it, it a win for her family and freinds. They no longer will worry if they are next on her list to die, they never have to hear her, unless they are $/&$ enough to call her.

KN really needs help in his release of this trial. The felon is slowly killing him mentally.

Oh, that can't be right. Laurence Nurmi has said the trial for him had nothing to do with winning or losing, it was simply about saving the life of his client.:jester:

it was only after the exclusion of the photos that JW acknowledged the photos had been found on the killer's hard drive, not on Travis's computer.

The chapter ends with Nurmi about to put the killer on the stand, with no prior notice provided to JM.

I thought the killer's HD was destroyed...

Who's hungry? Tonight it's smothered quail served on rice. Salad.
Sweet tea or homemade sangria
Went to the ranch last week and the quail hunting was fantastic

Bet Jodi has already choked down her slot served supper and washed it down with a lunchroom size carton of milk like kindergarteners get
