I was reading the laundry thread and wondered if they can get DNA from dryer lint, from either the lint trap or the vent. Do they check this? And can they differentiate between blood DNA and other types such as skin cells or saliva which would normally be found in laundry?

Terry Shoemaker reported that he(RC) asked to be moved into general population and he was granted it, we heard this the day( or the very next day, can't recall) but right on the time that LE called the family in to tell them about the river search and that they believed Haleigh was dead.

So he was moved to general pop back not sure if he has stayed out of trouble and remained there. Misty must have been prett-y ticked off when she about that one.

Great question! I know that dryer lint contains skin cells, lots of them, but how does the heat affect them and how do you separate them from the other family members cells to extract DNA? How could we be sure that the lint is from the load of laundry just washed? I am certain some particles adhere to the sides of the vent and come loose with time to end up on the screen.

I don't know.....this seems like a very complex process. I have read about getting DNA or biological fluids from a washer vent/screen......maybe because it hadn't reached temperature needed to dry the clothes?

AS = Annette Sykes

PDM, I believe you are referring to PDM Bridge, the place that RC worked when Haleigh went missing. he no longer works there by the way. Not sure what the initials themselves mean....I know that many use PDM as an acronym for Product Data Management, but I don't see that fitting in this instance. HTH
