Thanks for the info. I looked it up and her level says that she cannot teach reading over 51% of the time. So how does that fit into her claim of being a "reading specialist"?
It doesn't

What it says is that she is only certified to teach a "mainstream" elementary class. By "mainstream" I mean she doesn't have any ESE, ESOL or gifted endorsements, much less a reading endorsement - which would be needed to be a reading specialist.

The 51% statement, I believe, says that she can't teach a 6th grade math or a 7th grade reading class - does that make sense?

I posted a while back - she IMVHO is NOT a teacher. She has never taught a school year as a "teacher of record". She has subbed, volunteered and "filled-in" but has never been under a yearly teaching contract. She is a wannabee. Sorry, but that's my opinion.

My friends mother is schizophrenic and she was a substitute for 3 years she is now on disability and in a mental institution, at least here there is not a standard for subing

Terri has a Basic Teaching Certificate. This indicates she met the educational requirements to be issued a teaching certificate, but has not regular classroom experience.

Be sure to choose teacher and go to the next screen and it explains each type of license.
It won't give me a direct link.

ITA. I think some of her "inconsistent" statements, shall we say, make her appear to have some issues.

You gave me the right key words to search for and I think this might be the company with which the public schools have a contract. Trying to find updated info. This was from 2006.

Sorry about that.. I chose to not link the company site but thought you'd recognize the name. I couldn't find a pick up schedule.

WM also collects the recycle/yard debris for residential/commercial service, where I use them (west side).

What I am wondering is why the searching has stopped? Have they covered all of Sauvie Island? If they are there due to cell phone pings, I do not understand as the ping guy on NG said the other night that the pings are accurate to within several feet, Why not search in those areas? Or have they already? Sure would love an update on the search and is it stopped, has it moved to another location, what? I can't believe after 3 + weeks they are just giving up on finding Kyron. So sad.

It sure does feel like they're giving up doesn't it? :( Unless they know more and aren't talking to the public? I don't know... It seems like they focused on the island and found nothing (?) and they're done????

Hi, this might seem like a strange question, just curious. If you were living in the same area as the Horman family, what ice cream parlors would you visit if you were to go "out for ice cream?" Thank you, Locals! :)

The main ones that I can think of off the top of my head and closest to them would be:

Baskin Robbins off Cornelius Pass Rd.
Actual address:22035 NW Imbrie Dr, Hillsboro , OR 97124

Cold Stone on 185th
Actual Address:2227 NW 185th. Ave., Hillsboro, OR 97124

I'm thinking there is one near Albertsons off West Union but have to look it up.

Checked near Albertson's and no ice cream around there. So that's probably the two main ones. Of course lots of other shops may sell a little ice cream and not be an ice cream parlor per se. I know the Bethany area has a cupcake shop called Bliss that serves Tillamook ice cream. (a local favorite) They are Located on Bethany Blvd.
(I do know they frequent that center occassionally)

My first thought was Bethany also... =)

I wonder what the "standard" policy for the school is as far as an absent, like my daughter's school starts at 7:45 a.m. they call the house by 9 a.m. if I forget to call her off, does anyone know what time someone would get "a call" typically? I've thought the entire time if she "planned" this she would have had to think the school would call the house if he wasn't in class.

Skyline, as well as many other elementary schools did not have an automated system in place for school absences. That system was mainly used to help prevent truancy in the upper grades. They have since added it to all PPS schools.

Thank you kindly for the information. I really appreciate it. :)
