In Nevada, the legal cut-off period is four years. Under the new bill, the deadline would be removed altogether for all sexual assault cases, bringing them into line with murder and terrorism offences that can be prosecuted at any time no matter how long ago they took place.

“I now understand that the law prevents the victim in my circumstances from seeking justice,” she said. “Why would the law want to prevent me from seeking justice.”

The only purpose appears to be to protect the assailant, Lublin said.

“So who is protecting the victim?” she asked. “The law is on his side.”

Lublin testified for Assembly Bill 212, sponsored by Assemblywoman Irene Bustamante Adams, D-Las Vegas. Lublin is a constituent of the lawmaker.

Ms. Schumer jokes about Cosby and at one point asks whether BC will at least get community service. I actually think she makes an poignant point because the sad reality is if the allegations are true and there is no criminal investigation or criminal trial, BC will not be punished under our justice system. It's awesome that G. Allred is advocating there should be no SOL for rape, but I think it goes much deeper. It's difficult for individuals who are sexually assaulted to report it, how can LE and community really help empower survivors/victims to come forward and how can we help protect individuals. I don't think U.S. society is really addressing the pathology of rapists or how to keep them from harming individuals or what the appropriate punishment is. Rape is a dangerous and harmful crime to society and I don't get why we as a society aren't there yet in taking it more seriously. Maybe rapists need to be institutionalized instead/in addition to prison, Idk.

And what I really don't get is BC's PR bits, whether or not the allegations are true.

By the way, has it been confirmed BC and Chloe Goins were at the PB mansion at the same time? I haven't seen anything on that case.

He was showing signs of dementia before this recent exposure of his alleged crimes, so I think the senile dementia is real.

I don't keep up with BC's behavior, but is it possible that BC's facade has been starting to crack and it's not dementia, just his real personality is surfacing (especially since he really hasn't had to keep up appearances b/c he's been out of the limelight in TV at least, for a very long time). I don't know what/if BC has pathologies/mental disorders...it would be great if someone here has psychology/medical background to comment on BC. Jmo/

There have been several anecdotes of non-rape related bizarre behavior in these threads, even in his younger days. Making female TV assistants watch him eat curry, sending a dead apple to a reporter, going to a graduation and singling someone out to tell them their grades weren't good enough, going to a party for children who achieved good things and giving a speech about how their parents suck, selling off his own daughter to National Enquirer... JMO but I think he has been pathologically full of himself and lacking some crucial people skills all along.

Bill Cosby accusers fight motion to dismiss defamation suit

"Cosby claims a privilege to defame where none exists; tries to shield himself from liability, by hiding behind the actions of his spokespersons ... and infects the motion with irrelevant matters in an attempt to prejudice the court," the opposition filed Friday said.

The filing also said lawyers for the women intend to file a motion to obtain documents from a 2005 lawsuit against Cosby arising from a sexual assault allegation because they belive the documents "will contradict assertions in defendant Cosby's motion to dismiss." That motion had not been filed as of Monday.

Throughout the hall, customers who were angry that the comedy act was being disrupted began to yell, "Shut up!" One called out, "I love you, Bill!."

As Cosby's heckler demanded a response, Cosby called for his fans to remain quiet.

"I am going to handle this the way I want it handled," he said, his voice reflecting no apparent unease.

BBM, It appears that B. Cosby tries to control other things the way "he wants to handle" it. But sure, keep talking BC, and may be skeletons will start pouring out of the closet. Because it certainly appears BC can't seem to hide his arrogance and controlling behavior, Jmo/
