Remains found in Big Spring

I hope that week or more is DNA testing. Surely, there must be a way to get a preliminary ID of who it is before that!

If the remains were in a trash bag (as some have said) and the body was placed in the bag with clothing on, I would surmise that the clothing might still be intact, therefore, a preliminary ID might be obtainable. Just a guess.

According to Fox News, Dunn told police she had gotten into a fight with her daughter the night she disappeared. She was arrested a few months later for lying to police about where her then boyfriend Adkins was.

Adkins, who had been named a person of interest in the case, had made troubling statements before Hailey disappeared, police said.

According to a police affidavit filed in the investigation, Adkins had remarked to a relative that hurting a teenager would be "like killing a deer." He was never charged.

The affidavit also noted that Dunn and Adkins had an apparent fixation on slasher movies and serial killers -- something Dunn called a "hobby."

The planes spraying chemicals are crop dusters for all of the cotton fields. Insecticides and whatever it is they spray in the fall to make the cotton ready to harvest. I don't think they would be spraying over the airport.

I do not remember anyone stating that BD and Hailey had gotten into a fight the night she disappeared, IIRC, BD stated she did not speak to Hailey at all.
Am I remembering wrong?????

Something tells me that there is something that will give them a quick ID or already has. This may have already been stated,but,IMVHO,they know.They are bringing in the FBI to get really good evidence AND to make someone squirm. And they will be watching that someone.

I am hoping that is the case. Since the remains were found in a trash bag other items may be in the bag also. Items that they know belong to Hailey.

I never knew until last night that there was another place in Big Spring where people dumped trash. With all of the landfills being searched in Big Spring, Colorado City, Snyder and Abilene, why wasn't this one searched too? My son knew about the place, my mother knows about it, I bet my husband knows about it. It just looks like if it was a known area to dump trash it would have been searched. Especially being that close to SA's mother's home.

I hope that the locals, (community and LE), will leave it up to the FBI and Rangers to handle Shawn. Lots of angry people there, but I want to see justice, not chaos or screw-ups!

Here I thought that Shawn had hidden Hailey so cleaverly that she would never be found. Now I think he is just dumber than a brick and darn lucky until now. I wouldn't be surprised if he still thinks he is home free.

One bad thing about any forensic evidence...much of what is found with the body could be explained by the fact that Shawn lived in the same home with Hailey and she rode in the same vehicles with him. If all they find is fiber evidence or even his hair or DNA, it can all be explained away. Body fluids on her clothing would be all that I can think of that would be incriminating.

Several unmarked civilian vehicles just entered the crime scene. We assume FBI. Same convoy as whn they searched landfill

Our crew in Big Spring is reporting that a convoy of unmarked vehicles, possibly law enforcement, has entered the area where the human remains were found. Authorities are still not speculating on the age or gender of the remains.
