Yep, Steely...I was just wondering about how traffic cams work and whether they read the numbers on a car's plate but if those numbers are upside down it can't read them. I am just guessing, and I admit not very well.

I just can't figure the upside down plates because one only needs an alibi for the time of an occurrence...not hours before or after. And does not really need one at all in an area with other people who can vouch for their whereabouts.

The only thing I can chalk this up to is either there is something weird about how traffic cams work that Arias knew about, or it was an accident in her haste to change the plates shortly after she was out of AZ. It might have been dark by then, enough that she didn't notice the mistake.

Traffic cams don't read plates, they take pictures. If the picture is clear enough, the plate can be read even if it's upside down. I've been busted by a couple and they send you a picture along with the ticket, and I know that if I had had my plates upside down I would still be able to read it, and to tell it was upside down.

As far as the psycho, I've always thought it was an accident; that she had removed the plates completely while at the crime scene, then put them back on in haste during her escape. Everything else she did during the whole trip was calculated to keep undue attention away. Of course she wanted RB attention as part of her alibi, I just can't see her deliberately drawing unnecessary attention from LE, for whatever reason. Still, she could have her own looney reasons for it.

I wonder if it will backfire on KN. Now that JSS has been given a smackdown by the COA will she stop putting up with some of his delaying BS?
To me it means Jodi did not get her way.

IF, that is a big IF Jodi testifies it will not be a "secret".

I know the absurdity of the # of *advertiser censored* sites found on TA's computer has been discussed here. But thought I would share this tweet from Trial Diaries:

#Jodiarias MATH 4PORN. BN's claims 160,000 hits over a 6 month span = almost 900 a day. Average awake time is 1000 minutes per day #DTdone

I have not done the math (God forbid! Math!!!) to validate this observation/calculation.

My thought? TA left his computer on (and connected) 24/7. His laptop WAS found in "sleep" mode (basically 'on') when the Mesa PD gathered it as evidence. And, yes ... his roomies could have used it; JA could (well, did) use it (in Deanna's presence) ... and boy-howdee ... TA (gasp) might have liked viewing *advertiser censored*.

At any rate, I'm still bothered by the "lack" of *advertiser censored* sites/viruses found ... and the plethora that turned up in this latest hard drive investigation. Even JM now says TA's computer had viruses and malware. WTH?

Oh well, I guess we'll discover more on Dec 4th.

A little less than one a minute.

I have friends who've looked for *advertiser censored* on the internet  and I can assure you that would be absolutely impossible to do. Not that my friends have tried or anything. :blushing:

Hi Val, I always appreciate your posts very much !
Unfortunately, this one I don't understand. Could you help me?

In regards to JA's statement that her and TA had only had vag intercourse once, did she say when that one time was? Was it supposed to have happened on the day she murdered him(though I still don't believe that those pics were from that last day, her hair is just too light in the pics)? If she said it was a disaster, then what made it so... did they fight over it, is that when they broke up, they got caught, it just wasn't good for him/her/both... perhaps my suspicions about JA having a possible medical condition were revealed, or is that when she decided to kill him? Sorry, it seems the longer these trials last, the more questions I have(not that they are even relevant to the trial itself, just curious).:/

But if it was for an alibi maybe things didn't go as she thought they would and her "alibi" actually happened at a different time and place than she had intended. Because where it did happen does not compute, IMO.

When I was trying to figure out if an upside down plate could fool a traffic camera, one person had said that if the camera can't read a plate the computer kicks it over to a human being to read. I assume this covers upside down plates, missing plates, plates smeared with mud and so on. But whether all jurisdictions have this system I don't know.

I always assumed she did it to prevent cameras in Arizona from recording her presence. Or maybe she thought she'd get stopped long before she did.

Yea it will be interesting to see what she so desperately wanted us not to. We'll probably just go 'Huh??'. It might give some insight into whatever crazy flavor of the month excuse she's into right now, though.

My input from your post: The pics from that day, no doubt. Even Juan is not arguing.

I do recall JA testilying about having vaginal sex only once, but I have to look it up, sorry!

I think there is a difference between *advertiser censored* that is downloaded due to a virus or whatever, and *advertiser censored* that is accessed on purpose via web search. Perhaps the "no *advertiser censored*" originally reported was for accessed sites and that which came from virus or whatever was not mentioned because accessed sites are of most interest and are the ones scrutinized in any investigation.

IDK how to say it clearly. The *advertiser censored* being claimed to be on the computer was missed by the defense expert also, right? So...I think we just do not know enough yet.

I would be surprised if there was absolutely nothing questionable found on the computer, given so much junk that is out there and how many sites track visitors, the malware, etc.

Biggest red flag for me: Jodi's insistence from Day One that the computer hard drive be examined again. She never did let up on this, even after it was reported by experts on both sides that there was nothing questionable found. She mentioned this hard drive in her complaint to the judge about Nurmi--he wasn't investigating it doggedly enough to suit her or something to that nature. She finally became her own attorney and the first thing she does is get that computer examined and voila...160,000 *advertiser censored* hits are found! And with that she is no longer her own attorney, after which is filed the motion to dismiss the DP based on prosecutor misconduct.

Come on. This is just all too down pat for me. Something stinks in all this.

I thought they were able to date the pictures through the camera programming. :waitasec: I'm not real sure about that though.

If *advertiser censored* is in fact found, what can possible happen?

Can she get a mistrial, even though she has been convicted? Could they cut a deal?

*Just hypothetically wondering.

If I have sequences wrong in the above post about the computer *advertiser censored* findings, someone please alert me. I am not exactly sure what date the *advertiser censored* was discovered. Let me know if I am off base enough to sound like a complete idiot, please. TIA.

Early on, I thought the upside down plate was, indeed, a way to get her presence in Utah "on the record." But ... maybe she replaced the plate in the dark, in the middle of the desert? Have a hard time believing she would drive with NO license plate, especially since she left TA's during daylight hours (approx. 6-6:30 pm in June). Hum. Wondering now if she mounted a "spare license plate" (from her repossessed car? JA's BMW?) ... then mounted the "real" license plate (upside down) in the darkness of the desert.

Yep, that is what I meant with how the traffic cameras might work...that they grab the license number and if there is not one it can read it cannot record an image at all. Or something like that. Just a guess as I have no idea if that's how they work or not.

About the license plate deal, I really wonder if she saw that tactic in a movie or TV show and mimiced it thinking it would somehow help her conceal her trip.

Yup 👍

Arias is a copycat not an original thinker. You see it in her tracings. It's obvious when she tries to mimick emotion or how she imprints the buzz words from her lawyers or experts. Sounds like she watched too many detective movies. I adore old Columbo reruns. There was a much repeated one regarding a licence plate. It's a theme that pops up a lot. CMJA also picked up on the motive element. Those old shows are always about motive. Genius Arias decided that she would push the no motive line to the max. It was one of her biggest errors. The plate was part of the premeditated attempt to avoid detection. I like the 'swap plate' BMW theory presented further on the thread. Arias had no need for alibis in Ryan Burns home town. She had plenty of witnesses. My guess is she was running out of time and didn't pay proper attention to sorting the plate.

Both the defense and the prosecution believe the pictures are from that day. It's never been argued. She's admitted she was there, and she killed him all by herself. If they weren't from that day then she put them on the camera to make it look as if they were, and that makes no sense, since initially she was denying she was even there that day. Why would she deny it, then provide false evidence to the contrary?

Right, but BN said the raw data included search hits as well. For example, in the "history".

Searching for something specific such as: I like big (fill in the blank). :)

This is was I got from BK site.

I still think they messed around with the original HD, and now Juan cannot get into to confirm these new findings, therefore, would be thrown out. It will be ok. This is another one of Jodi's shenanigans.

Has any reporters, lawyers given an ending date for this DP phase?
Seems like it has gone on forever!

I think the *advertiser censored* is yet another ruse. Remember, her first story was the ninjas did it, had nothing to do with pedophilia. So what if he had *advertiser censored*? Hastings nothing to do with the fact that she massacred him. His computer could have been accessed by any number of people, he was a social animal, he had roommates, and the killer used it. Remember too, in Flores' interview, CMJA told Flores Travis had a virus on his computer and that's why they couldn't view the CD's she brought. I don't put a whole lot of faith in what BN says. They can't overturn the conviction, this is not an appeal. Juan's got this!

This is exactly what I think. She had the BMW in CA. Part of her master plan was to go through AZ underected. She changed her plates at Starbucks in CA to the BMW plates to get through AZ and when she ditched knife, gun, ahe changex that plates back to CA upon entering Nevada.

imo, no. She never made *advertiser censored*, other than the little boy thing, which even her biased expert would not back up, an issue in the trial. The only possible way this can amount to anything is if law enforcement deliberately tried to hide 'evidence'. imo that's already been shown to not be the case. This whole thing defaults to a 'benefit by delay' to the defense, and that's all.
